    QLD as well.

how does it seem like a good deal?

  • +9

I'd be in at $69 for a 7-foot tablet too.

    • These 7-foot tablets are surprisingly small, you should be able to squeeze them into a jacket pocket, as does my $69 Audiosonic 7' tablet from Kmart

Edit: can't believe I just linked to that thing again…. think I'm in love

    • Hah well spotted.

Pendo should not have chosen a bear as their mascot.

    • Why not? Apple used an apple as their mascot and everyone loves it. Any reason why they shouldn't used a bear/panda?

      • +4

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedobear

I'm assuming any similarity to the above linked Bear ('Pendo Bear' sounds like 'Pedobear') is what the poster above was talking about.

      • Someone hasn't seen the meme :-)

can you use this on WiFi
    (your own ISP)
    without activating as it says
    network locked

  • -3

does not even say what ISP it is locked to

    • +4

It's not locked. The note applies to a different device. It doesn't even have 3G.

Thought the title said "Pedopad" for a sec..

    • Unfortunately I see what you did there

How does it compare with the audiosonic one at kmart for the same price?
    http://www.kmart.com.au/product/audiosonic-7-capacitive-tabl…

    • +1

      They're both shit

    • This one has double the ram and is on special. The Kmart one is their everyday price.

Edit: no wait, I read the wrong specs above. They have the same ram. They're comparable.

      • So would you say it's better to buy the Kmart one?

I imagine it is much easier returning tech to Kmart for warranty service as opposed to Coles.

From personal experience, all these 'cheapo' tablets from China are VERY unreliable so after sales service should be considered, especially given specs and price are effectively the same.

        Also, don't forget to pay with your 'reincarnated' ING Direct card and get an extra 5% off (-;

        • I just like to justify my purchase every now and again… If you want a quality tablet with a high resolution, grab a retina iPad. If u need something to entertain you for 20 mins on public transport then this is the tablet for you. The second you pay any more $ for a cover, or god forbid- for a paid app; then you've paid too much for your toy.
Kmart one also comes in pink if you're into that sort of thing.
          Video review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikuO12_jnbw

ING hack #26: when you're sick of it, return it and keep the 5% rebate for your troubles…

        • Retina ipad competes with nexus 10 and Kindle Fire 9", not this.

  • a 7 foot tablet at 800x480… all i could think of seeing is colourful dots!!

  • Read somewhere the Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite Tablet was also available at Coles for $99. Anyone know if it's true/worth it?

  • …is this worth the money for a 3 yr old ?

  • Resolution ruins it.

  • What's with the names of cheap tablets. PendoPad, is almost Pedo Pad.
Ainol tablets is almost Anal tablets.

    • I rather have an Anal than a Pedo.

    • Whats wrong with "foot pad"? Better than paedo, unless you are a septic.

  • I would be careful when purchasing this. I bought one last night thinking it had good specs for its price. Well i was wrong.

    FALSE ADVERTISING

    1. STORAGE DISCREPANCY

    Box says: 4GB Internal
    Actual: 1.7GB
Approximate Free Space after turning on: ~500MB

Why? 1Mobile loads alot of crap and has annoying advertisements.

    1. MEMORY DISCREPANCY

    Box says: 512MB Memory (RAM)
    Actual: 200MB (Total)

Result: Jellybean is sluggish and takes a while to load pages. Constant Freezes and application crashes. Facebook struggles alot.

I can't open YouTube without it crashing and playing games such as Bejeweled Blitz etc is a nightmare.

I am waiting til monday to call Pendo direct in Melbourne and give them a serving. $69 or not, i want what was advertised on the factory sealed box.

My experience may be a once off, but be sure to open it at Coles if you purchase it. Comes with battery life so you can check in the menu all the settings.

    • I doubt that, especially as you did not say how you tested it.
4GB is normal for a cheap android-4 device. 500MB would be the free space for applications in the /data partition, and 1.7GB the "sdcard" partition for music, videos etc. That 4GB is split up for a whole bunch of things.

RAM is 512MB or jellybean would not boot :) You really need 1GB if you want to do web browsing.
The tablet would be OK for games and email at best, and websites with small mobile-optimised pages.

I can't open YouTube without it crashing and playing games such as Bejeweled Blitz etc is a nightmare.

Ouch! But really, what did you expect buying a no-name tablet from Coles for a lower price than a leg of ham?
Does it play Angry Birds OK? I bought a Samsung android phone once that could not even do that :)

Why not try the Iconia b1 instead? http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/111427
