    People sip vodka? Why?

Obviously for him it is to get rid of the taste of budwieser….

I think the bigger question is why would the O.P. sip on top shelf vodka while drinking bottle shelf imported USA beer.

      • +4

        haha like what i like.

      Quality Vodka yes,crappy Vodka no.

Some people like it some people don't.

  • DQ Vodka > Crystal Head
Price comparable if you can shop well. But this is a great price for Crystal.

  • very good price, are you saying Dan's will price beat? will we have to bring ad or sumfn to prove?

    • I tried once earlier this year to match a Liquorland In-Store special and Dan would not match it as it was not an advertised special like in a catalog. Manager whipped out a 'competitors' specials folder and looked it up. If it is not in here we cannot match/better it.

      • That manager has given incorrect information. Dans beat ANY advertised prices. The main board displays Dans catalogues, First Choice, BWS, Liquorland……the folder the manager has pulled out is catalogues from other liquor stores ads that don't go on main board e.g.. IGA, cellarbrations, thirsty camel. Our store beats prices that aren't advertised on board…ie…in house special. Should have asked them to call the store…..not a helpful Manager!!

dans do a lowest price guarantee, so do first choice. my experience with their pricebeat varies from beating by 10cents to 5%. theres no policy so its up to them, a beat of 5cents still counts

    • Had the same experience with both of the retailers you noted. As long as there's stock available at the retailer they need to price match they'll do it no dramas.

      • I usually have pretty good success in Dans / 1st choice price matching. Save your favourite booze as a bookmark on your phone and show it to them at the checkout. Depending on who it is they either match or beat by 5 cents.

Sometimes they want to look it up on there own computers sometimes not. If you wanted to be really cheap you could save the html on your phone edit the price and show them that :).

I have never had any success price beating from the smaller liquor places, boozle doesn't fly.

  • I've never been able to price match with Dan despite abiding to everything they have written in their conditions. They always came up with some bull excuse why they won't do it.

  • Crystal Head really isn't all it's cracked up to be. Great bottle, great marketing, average vodka.

    (Also, Ghostbusters!! :P)

  • went to local liqoirland (marricville nsw) was $75, not $55

  • Dammit. Paid $75 for this like 2 days ago :(

  • Tried Dans matching boozle before. They wont. Still $75 online https://www.liquorland.com.au/Product/8847795/Crystal-Head-V…

  • I thought vodka was vodka. Alcohol and water.
No other flavour like whisky or brandy. Why would you buy any but the cheapest?
Genuine question - I plead ignorant as I don't often drink it.

    • Nah… BIG differences in vodka also. Such as good vodka will feel like you're just drinking water and should have no after taste.

      • If it feels like you're just drinking water, then why not just drink water instead? Much cheaper.

      • +1

that somehow doesn't sound right….it should taste like water….although I get what you mean.
I like the grain vodkas, with a very slight grain taste to it. Smooth, crisp and clean and no after burn.

DQ at a comparable $55?!!!!!!!??? Where??? Always around $120 when Ive seen it. Although had it free a few times at various promo events :-)

        • Not per bottle sorry, meaning when comparing cost per 100ml at retail.

  • +1

As a Dans employee, we don't go by boozle as many times its inaccurate. However if you have an advertisement/catalogue we will always beat the advertised price…..if u don't have a catalogue you can ask them to ring a store….. Dans will always beat advertised prices as long as they are current.

    • Good cross promotion. Bought :)

  • Went to the Keysborough store (one of the ones that Boozle says is $55) and it's $75! Was a waste of time!

      Apologies mate.

  • Boozle is often misleading
