As they are giving some of us the offer and we only ordered one pair its safe to assume your getting two pairs. If you wish.

If you don't they refund you.

People need to chill out a bit, decent quality shoes however you look at it and I think most of you probably would have bought those on offer now in the sorry email if that was all that was offered in the first place.

  • Ordered on Tuesday, no email as yet and order status on their website is still showing as "processing"…

    • Like others, I have now received an email today to say my order has been dispatched.

  • +1

For $40 a pair. Can't really complain if it's slow delivery or out of stock.
Hopefully my replacement will go through next week and arrive at my doorsteps.

  • out of curiosity, how does a confirmation letter looks like?

  • Was anyone able to call them up to confirm that the email is real and not some punk stealing a whole bunch of email address and fishing for info? if they ran out of stock why is the deal still going on their website and why don't they offer the other shoes on sale as replacements?

  • +2

I have received 2 cancellations from Pacific Brands. For a sophisticated company, they have a very poor online inventory system. Totally unacceptable for a publicly listed company.

In my view this is a form of bait advertising as the alternative shoes they are offering in their email are cheaper in RRP than the original pairs I wanted. A consumer has been induced into buying a product which is lesser in value than initially represented by the seller. At a minimum this is misleading conduct as the seller had no intention of honouring the majority of the purchases. I will be forwarding my complaint to the Office of Fair Trading on Monday.

    • +2

Good luck with Fair Trading. I think you'll be wasting your time and a further 30c!
They're not forcing you to take a lesser product, or any product for that matter. The product you originally purchased was on special for $50, and that is its current value, $50, regardless of its RRP. Ultimately that's all the company really has to offer you! So the fact that they've even offered up these other shoes that aren't on sale, is pretty bloody good, regardless of their RRP!
If you don't think you're getting a fair deal, get you're money back… Which they've also offered!

    • +4

i don't see why everyone is so demanding. They're offering a different pair of shoes which isn't from their sale range and if you don't like them just get a refund!

    • +2

2 cancellations, wow that must be hard to get up every morning.

  • +6

I ordered two pairs of shoes and had both of the orders cancelled but I'm pretty happy with the remedy given. I feel like I've actually got a better deal out of it - they cancelled my Edmonton order and replaced it with Chicago's, which wasn't from their discounted range and which I think is better than the Edmonton.

I hate bait and switches too but I don't think this is anything like a typical bait and switch - 1) they actually had stock, and they simply received too many orders and 2) when they ran out they offered customers an alternative from a premium range. It's more than what most retailers would've done.

Their inventory system may need improvements but top marks from me for how they've handled the fallout.

    • +1

The OP initially posted the deal stating it was meant to be a 24 HOURs deal but they extended. So they probably didn't close the deal when they should have.

  • +1

I ordered Frame which is a boot - all the alternatives are shoes not boots.

My biggest gripe is that I missed out on these boots the first night and sent an email asking if there will be more stock. Managed to grab a pair two days later and eventually got a reply from customer service to say there is more stock available AFTER I ordered.

    • Exactly the same for me.
      REALLy wanted those boots.

  • Just opened the parcel that was delivered yesterday. I got the Florence for $40 delivered. The shoe is nice but after reading previous comments to get a smaller size I did and it's too tight. Will need to exchange it :(

  • Still processing my order apparently…great prices but they clearly weren't prepared for the Ozbargain onslaught of sales.

  • Just got an email to say my order has been dispatched. I ordered the same night the deal was posted.

    • Not fair.. I ordered the same night and got the daunting email.

      • i believe sizes do matter.

  • Man these O2 shoes really are comfortable! Much better than the standard ones I bought last year.

    • Good to know that you're enjoying them… I'm happy enough knowing that mine will last a few days longer than yours while I wait!!!

  • Got all my shoes today from JM, FILA and Colorado :)

    • how many legs do you have..lol….

      • Too many lol

        • +2

          His name is Jake……

    • Did you get tracking/confirmation? I'm still waiting on three different shipping confirmation emails from JM (and the shoes, of course)

      • +1

if u call them, they'll speed up the process.

        • +1

correct. I called up them and they'll ship my order today…

        • +2

The problem with calling for me is after they deal with one order you go 'err.. could you check my other orders with these id's?'. After opening other accounts to save a few $$ I don't have the moral high ground to ask ' why are you taking this long?' They must be maxed out filling all the orders from this site alone, so I am happy to wait.

        • they did not ask for id but they asked for last 4 digit of order number and they checked status..thats it..

        • agreed. And it only takes 30 seconds including wait time.

        • Got shipping confirmation.

        • I called (no wait time) but didn't get any form of confirmation just a "should be shipped today or tomorrow" and the generic "super busy" response which is obviously understandable. I'm happy to wait.

        • and now received shoes..Thts damn fast yeah….

      • I did get shipping confirmation but tracking details never updated

        • +1

usually takes upto 3 working days for the tracking details to be updated or sometimes jump to delivered status without showing the transit part.

        • Received mine. They were shipped from Melbourne so it was nice and quick. Very good shoes IMO. Worth every cent.

  • Just received this email:

Thank you for your email. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
We have organised for your order to be replaced with style Chicago and will have this sent out as soon as possible.

So at least they're getting onto it!!!

    • I still await my replacement reply.

  • got mine delivered today. very happy with the product. bargain indeed. thanks OP

  • I just received an email which read:

    Hi (my name),

Also your Excite for your order #340000xxxx

    Regards,
    The Julius Marlow Team.

I rang up and apparently that translates into "Your order has been shipped".
(This is one of the replacement ones, original order was for an Edmonton)

  • Hmmm, recieved my shoes this morning. Quite happy with them… Except that the Chicago in a UK10 is a larger fit than my current JM shoes (Motor) in a UK10. Must be the shape of the shoe! Think I'll just try swapping them at a local retailer! Pretty good for $40!

    • +1

Think I'll just try swapping them at a local retailer!

      Don't think you can.

      • -7

I'll just suss out the local Harris Scarfs / Myers etc. for availability, buy the right size, and get the Mrs to take back the wrong ones! Some may say it's immoral, but in fact the store will be getting more shoe back!!! ;)

        • the invoice would have the size on them.. that'll only work if the returns desk people are sloppy

        • -1

I knew I'd get negged for telling the truth!
It's amazing how people on here get a 'temporary' conscience!
Especially those that open up a second email acct or have things delivered to two different addresses when there's an offer for one only!!!

    • -1

You then should have tried out the right size at Myers or other retail stores first before you ordered from JM online store. It is evil but at least not as immoral as swapping wrong sizes with the shoes you bought elsewhere.

      • +1

Any more immoral than printing out a copy of someone else's receipt, taking it to the store and telling the sales guy 'My friend just bought this, and I'd like one too!', yeah right!!!

  • Received an email confirmation of shipping on Wednesday and still no sign of it in aus post system. Keeps saying tracking no invalid. Anyone else got the same thing happening?

    • Never recieved anything with shipping details. Mine just showed up in a box with an Express Post sticker on it!

      • Yup; got mine today. Definitely wasn't one of the first to buy them. Thanks OP!

  • +2

Need to try my luck again - the sizes are not consistent with previous Julius Marlow shoes I own.
I went into Southland Myer but the range was really small.
Which major store has the best range of these?

    • This is my issue too!!!
But don't tell anyone if you plan on swapping them!!! ;)

      • Nah, I just want to eyeball the range and try my size.
Its free to send them back to Julius Marlow - all part of the service.

        • I would also like to know which store is best to try different sizes and exchange mine through Julius Marlow. Harris Scarfe? Myer?

  • +1

Shame the sizes are mixed. Rounded/square toe styles fit me fine, the pointy ones are too tight on my little toe. They should adjust the sizes to save customers the hassle. I suggest going up half a size for pointed styles.

    • Mine are going back today for that reason!
The squared/rounded toe is about a half size or so bigger than my previous JMs!

  • The sizes for mine are all the same as the ones in Rivers.

  • +2

My 10.5 are smaller than my old 10.5 - going to return them to JM online and ask for exchange for size 11 instead. It might take longer but it's not dodgy like going to a Dept Store and doing it.

  • +1

The problem with trying to do the exchange is that for most styles that were on sale they don't have stock left (they sold them during the sale). All they can do is give a refund. They don't let you get another style at the sale price (only the current price).

    • You're right. You'll have to ring them up to check stock first. The details are here!

  • Anyone else that hasn't received their replacement style shoes yet?
I got the confirmation email saying that they've replaced my original order with my chosen style (Chicago) and will be sent out as soon as possible. However I have yet to receive my Chicago's :/

    • Maybe they're waiting for my Chicagos to come back!!! LoL
I got my replacements about 2 weeks ago. I'm now just waiting for my replacement replacement shoes after I sent them back because of sizing. I'd give them a call!

    • Disregard part of my last post…
The replacement for my replacements just showed up then! So I'd highly recommend you call them up!

      • Good news is that my shoes arrived today! :D A little longer than expected but they arrived nonetheless :)

  • I still don't have my shoes, and the order is still "Processing"

    • You might have to ring them up. I called since my Edmondton order was still "processing". They were happy to swap orders with the Rumba which I think are better quality. They are happy to swap as long as they have stock in your size.

      • Yeah I ended up contacting them and they told me to choose a shoe style and they'll mail it to me express. Might end up getting a shoe that is higher quality so I guess the wait is ok =)
