  • Great knife and very sharp. It remains sharp after a year of usage. Wife damaged the cook knife by accidentally hammered it onto a metal utensil.

    Used to be cheaper: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/60878

Still a good price nonetheless compared to retail.

Amazing knives. I have a block myself; they are menacingly sharp and well-balanced/weighted. Really make cutting feel effortless and exertion-free.

  • ummm, this is :OzBargain", not "OzRetail"

  • I think this line of knives is discontinued. In Australia, at least. They're probably trying to shift old stock.

That said, they're knives. Knife tech hasn't exactly leaped forward. These were a good set when they were widely available and are still a good set now, and this is about as good of a price as you can get from an Aussie place on special.

Old stock … it's a good knife but, in my opinion, Furii are better

furi better? seriously? have you actually used both?

        idts :)

      • did you forget your +1

      • Furi??? Seriously? They're like the BOSE of knives.

    • discontinued? why? since when? source?

      idts :)

      • Because the two places I've seen them regularly in the past, yourhomedepot.com.au and petersofkensington.com.au no longer have this exact 8 piece set. They definitely had them for quite a long time in the range of 1-6 years ago.

Maybe they dropped them because they weren't selling.

        • two places no longer selling one particular item is a bit different to a complete range being discontinued throughout the whole country :)

        • A bit.

Although I'd be interested if you can find anyone else selling this set, just to show me up.

  • I bought a big one for $99 in store a few months ago. Not as good as I expected, even not better than my Baccarat ($100/set)
