I've always had a chuckle at widgets that proclaim to be 'minimalist' but then spell out the time in words rather than numbers.

    • You mean this app called Minimalistic Text spells the time out in words?
      What are they thinking?

Given they do say it's an app which displays information in a minimalistic way.

      • I'd hazard a guess their argument would be "numbers don't count as text!".

This OzBargain thing is really getting at me. I read Minimalistic Tax.

  • Seems to work well. Quite a few options to configure as well.

    • From what I can see, there are only about 5 different types of widgets? Is it possible to get more?

I bought this a while back.

Was worth it, been my date/time since.

  • does anyone know, if i uninstall it and reinstall it later, do i still have the full version?

yes you do.. as long as you keep you google id(gmail id) same next time you want to install….

I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It doesn't keep the full version. You have to use the code (which will expire soon).

Or you could use something like Carbon/Helium to backup the program data before you delete it.

It's pretty much a must for all these free full-version giveaways with promo codes apps.

        • Does titanium backup do the same as Helium in terms of retaining the "pro" status?

        • Pretty sure it does for the app backup/syncing/restore.

I don't use titanium backup though so maybe someone else could chime in for 100% confirmation.

        • Definitely need to do this especially if one has more than 1 of these 'free' apps

  • Excuse my ignorance, after the installation, it says,"No widgets placed on the home screen. Please go to your home screen and add a Minimalistic Text widget."

But how do I add the widget(s)? It seems to be dependent on the brand & model of your mobile. The Samsung Galaxy S3 gives instructions, bu the unpopular Sharp SH530U does not.

    • Either hold down on a blank part of the home screen or go in to apps/widgets and hold down the widget then you will be able to drag it to the home screen.

It is different for different phones but its usually one or the other of the above ways.

  • Doesn't do .5 hour time zones (SA/NT)

I did a time widget first, now every time I try to make a new widget I don't get a choice and its just the time by default and it seems its unable to be changed to anything else.

  • These appoftheday deals are no good once you reinstall. Now I just ignore or such deals.

    • Not an issue if you have root access on your phone. You can back up and reinstall the app at any time (but never update it).
