    • Same goes for me, still waiting

  • I've got my refund back onto 28degrees however it's coincided perfectly to cause this:

    12/09/2013 SHOPPERS PROTECTION -$2.09
11/09/2013 KOGAN AUSTRALIA SOUTH MELBOU AUS $436.80
10/09/2013 KOGAN AUSTRALIA SOUTH MELBOU AUS -$436.80

    :(

Paypal has withheld my money for investigation despite Kogan giving the refund. So for most the people not receiving their refunds, it might be Paypalz's problem, Not Kogan.

    • Same here actually. I thought I was alone. I wonder if this is what people mean when they talk about PayPal freezing accounts for no reason.

      • +1

WTF is 24 hour refund they mentioned?
        I just lodged a dispute.
Kogan is definitely getting into trouble this time, becasue of their reputation has been ruined.

        • +1

PayPal hold refunds "pending" whatever processes have to happen. You will be better off not raising a dispute, it will take much longer that way. Just wait for your refund to clear.

        • I don’t doubt that I cannot get my refund back.
Just want Kogan to learn from that.
This is the main reason I lodged this dispute.
And I hope you guys do that for your right and don't let Kogan do this stupid thing anymore.

    • +2

If Kogan really did refund you but you raised the dispute it's Paypal who handles the dispute and the overall refund. That's why I have not raised the dispute because I don't money sitting with paypal longer than it should. I was told a refund would be processed by a Kogan operator and nothing so far.

I paid with credit card through paypal so am covered either way but just disappointed because they are making it more difficult than it really is. Lame.

      • +2

This is wrong, even though Paypal is considering it, the sellers (Kogan) always have an option at any time to issue the full refund and the case will be automatically close.
This shows Kogan feel it is OK to take their customers for a ride and make empty promise about 24h refund BS. They could reverse the transaction and avoid the unnecessary CC transaction easily if they truly care. Instead, they will just hold onto your money and issue refund whenever they feel like, poor form.

        • +1

Agreed. If other have got their refund why don't the paypal buyers have theirs. They made the first step of honouring the $20 voucher, why not demonstrate how exceptional their customer service is and refund people back straight away. It would make people more willing for them to buy from them. I just don't know their logic in this instance.

        • +1

Still quite a few in the same boat as me, no money back into the old Paypal account. If they can't refund everyone with 24 hrs then don't make the claim. We've been Kogan'd x 2

  • +2

Still no refund for me… And I just bought a Lenovo laptop eeek.

    • haha, same here !! Just hope I don't get Kogan'd again (FHD screen actually costing less?!?!)

Shot Kogan an email on Fri, got a reply at 3:45pm, confirming it has been "processed", shouldn't the refund occur instantly?

We can confirm your refund has been processed and the funds should be available in your account by Monday.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you require further assistance.

  • Kogan should learn from United Airlines - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-24089326

  • I didn't do anything and I got refunded like two days ago.

    • I didn't do anything and I got refunded like two days ago

      You are right.

The more they talk, the longer they have to wait for the refunds (from paypal)

      • Not really true. I've said nothing, and nothing's happened

still no refund so far. raised a dispute

Long time lurker, this deal made me post a comment. Trying to get this Definition on Urbandictionary, the editors rejected it.

Can someone suggest a better version, or any ideas on how to make this accepted definition …

    Koganned

A form of Bait and switch marketing, typical shoddy marketing practice used by second rate dodgy outfits like Kogan Electronics.

    Modus operandi:
Announce a big sale and a huge markdown on a product, promote it widely to increase new user signups and collect user details and cash in advance. Later claim it was a pricing error so the deal won't be honoured, instead offer the customer the opportunity to get a store credit voucher or pay the difference to bring the price back to current market price.

    Loss to the Customer:
The Customer has lost time, effort and money, anxiety, possibly credit card fees, surcharges, delays in getting a refund etc.

Net Gain to the customer :
    ZERO

    Gain to the store
The store has gained a new account, with full postal address, email address, huge web traffic, rise in turnover, cash in the account , and a complete 100% profit from the people who select a coucher and forget to claim it.

    Loss to the store:
Slight loss of reputation and a definition on Urban Dictionary, measly store voucher.

    Example:
Man, did you see that awesome deal on the Nexus 4, it is like 40 % off.
Naaahh, you'll just be Koganned, he'll never deliver.

    • lol

    • lol, nice try, what's their reason for rejection?

      • They didn't give a reason, just said editors rejected it, Perhaps this definition or a version of it should be used on other sites and then eventually they will accept it.

I'd think the editors would be crowd sourced too, posting it here to see suggestions on how others have got theirs approved.

I think the more people used this definition, the more it becomes acceptable. Else can anyone suggest a wittier, funnier more URBAN dictionary like definition..

Here it suggested that they have volunteer editors..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_Dictionary

        • +2

yay, i'll use it more often then. How about:

Hey dude, you know what, Kogan has just post a deal trying to kogan unsuspecting customers. Lucky me, i learnt from being koganned by them last time, so i save myself and a few friends from their koganning.

        • Yeah and for google and UD to recognize this definition, it needs to be linked in places with that key word.

  • I would recommend anyone who paid by PayPal and haven't received their refunds to call PayPal and initiate a dispute claim.

I made a call to PayPal just now and they said that Kogan has not initiated a refund process on my account. So I decided to raise a dispute claim immediately.

Contrary to popular belief, initiating a dispute claim doesn't delay the refund.

PayPal said that the dispute will wait 10 days (Saturdays and Sundays included) for Kogan's reply. If within this 10 days Kogan decided to refund the amount, then the refund will be processed immediately and dispute claim will automatically closed. If, after 10 days, you still haven't received your refund, then PayPal will give you back the whole amount to your account then. So the maximum waiting time is 10 days (or 11 days, if you count the 11th day as the day you receive your refund). This way, Kogan is forced to attend your refund request within 10 days of your dispute claim being raised.

I noticed that someone has called Kogan and Kogan said that all funds have been refunded, but after all we have been through with Kogan, do you think we should trust any of the words that came out of them? I personally believe that Kogan are doing the refunds manually — and judging by the way they operated, I don't think 24 hours is sufficient enough for them to refund more than 5000 or so purchases. Also, I don't think it is in their best interest to refund your money as soon as possible — they could have used their money for something else while you are tapping your fingers waiting for your refund to arrive.

I disputed mine and got a refund within an hour.

    • I lodged a dispute claim with PayPal on Friday afternoon but yet to hear anything. Will call PayPal if hear nothing by Monday afternoon.

  • Finally got a "kindest regards" (LOL!) email from Kogan yesterday.

    "Hi Yngwie,

I'll wait until COB Monday to decide if I want to raise a dispute with Paypal as per scrypton's suggestion.

  • Why don't they just take the money and send the s4s like the good chaps they are?

    • +5

      Because they aren't good chaps.

  • yey.. received my $9 32gb microsd class 10, but brand is Kogan so dont hope a good quality card!

  • +2

After getting 2 replies over the weekend, stating that the money will be there Monday, still nothing in my paypal account.

So, I replied with the following. See what this generates :-)

    Well,

Monday is here and still NO refund.

    Another broken promise from Kogan.

Failure to send the item or refund the money is theft. Is this really the tactics Kogan wants to be known for??

    • Haha well said! Someone should link their marketing department to this thread…

  • Kogan have done this many times before!

They do this to collect customer data and spam you with garbage.

    Kogan are scum!

  • I raised a dispute last night and I just got the refund. I would recommend that everyone raise a dispute on Paypal.

    • I took the advice given here and disputed the case this morning since the refund is long overdue. I got a refund within an hour. Everyone who hasn't received a refund yet, do it now!

  • I just spoke to them just now and I'll have a refund by the end of the day, what a load of rubbish, I've had no notifications from paypal in relation to a refund

  • Ok take that back, just got refund email, but not on my account yet

    • Same here

  • Just received refund. This is the 3rd time (as I remember) that Kogan has done this trick.

  • Just got my refund and also my $20 purchase on Kogan

I guess I can't be too unhappy despite a bad experience

  • now all dusts are settled (refund and goods received) - can we have insider info of what was going on at kogan.
how the S4 typo happended, and how much "loss" kogan had (via $20 code that can be applied to any purchase)

    • Kogan might didn't lose any money.

Read from 1 of the comment saying that 32GB 3.0 USB DISK is branded Kogan. Maybe the cost of this thing is only $3 or $4. and Kogan is selling for $29. With voucher redemption customer still needa pay $9.
Kogan is probably still making profit….

      • +1

hmm really $3-4? that cheap??? but even chinese ebay sellers cant sell 32gb usb for that price, can they? i think more like $9 each as cost base and kogan lose on shipping fee which is not much.

        • I believe Kogan probably bought them in bulk from China and they would able to get $3-$4 each.
I don't think these are good quality USB. The cost wouldn't be that expensive.

All this based on my personal experience, as my previous company able to sell something at $70 to retailer and $99 to a walk in customer. But the cost is only $15 include shipping from China. Just that we need to place 500 off as a minimum ordering quantity.

        • They seem okay.

Not sure why it's so slow for the writes 512k and under though.

  • got email from paypal this morning

"Kogan Technologies just sent you a full refund of $431.99 AUD for your purchase."

    i didn't raise a dispute.

    • Me either. Didn't want to raise a dispute because if you buy on ebay you have the tendency to dispute items because sellers tend to sell broken goods or misinform you on the product description. Disputes raised on those instances are necessary.

  • +1

Received my refund today! :)) I raised the dispute 3 days ago!

  • Just got my $19 micro-usb to hdmi converter in the post so can't complain too much.

    • +1

But wait…did you check if it actually worked first? :P

  • I got two codes from Kogan and neither work??????

    I've been re-Kogan'd…

    • all good now

      • how'd you fix it?

  • +12

OMG … I just got an offer from Kogan to upgrade the warranty on my Galaxy S4. Extra peace of mind is just a few clicks away.

Too funny … they really want that I pay for a warranty upgrade on a device I never received >>>???

(its only 89$ for 3 years or 119$ for 5 years … sounds like a great deal … I ordered the 3 year warranty. They must send me the device now … I have already the warranty … :-)

    • +5

You beat me to it, just got my email as well!!! I'm speechless

      • +2

Saw the emaill and promptly ignored it, saw this post, now speechless as well. Totally amazed at the total lack of IT processes from start to finish.

  • +5

I can upgrade now my warranty for the s4 i didn't get to buy.

  • This could actually be dangerous for someone who bought an s4 from them since as you would assume it is for the one you bought.

  • +5

Kogan just sent me an email asking if i want extended warranty for the S4 order which kogan cancelled ….
I cant make up my mind … Should i get extended warranty for it ?

    *act dumb

  • I wonder if the extended warranty covers me for breach of contract?

  • +1

Lol Kogan are such parasites…once they get a hold of you they'll never let you go, even if that means silly extended warranty emails!

    • Kogan is trying to recover all the $20 voucher code they sent out.
He just found out if Lenovo is not giving any compensation, why would he?

      • Too late for many by now, used and abused. :-D

  • +2

Email received today offering an upgrade to the warranty for this!! Wonder how this would go for a device I never received! Happy to upgrade warranty if they include the phone. The saga continues……..

  • I still haven't got money back in my account despite receiving the refund notification from Kogan.

    • Same here..

  • bloody kogan sent me a dodgy gift card code!!

  • +1

Just got an email from Kogan for the canceled S4 order

    • came here to post this too, lol. These guys.

    • Have one of my negs that I'm not using for signing up just to ask for a free coupon in multiple threads.

  • Can't complain too much- no refund yet, but just got my MHL HDMI cable (USB to HDMI for the S3) for free.

    Lenovo on the other hand…pffftt

  • Got my refund finally

  • Hi everyone. So I decided to buy a 24 pack 'Gillette' Fusion Power razon with the voucher. They were being sold for $29. I got my delivery on Friday and it turns out the blades were not authentic and counterfeit.

I had an old unused blade which I got from Coles and it has a Gillette logo at the back and also it sounds different when the blade vibrates. Also the fake blade does not have the s/n at the back.

Now I can have a whinge with Kogan for a refund but cant be really bothered sending the blades back etc. I would like them to state on their website that the blades are not original to avoid buyer disappointment.

I should also email Gillette about it but doubt they would care?

In case someone is interested here is what the product says - http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/gillette-fusion-compatible-razor…

And it says they were made in USA!

EDIT** found another thread here which talked about the blades being mentioned as 'compatible' which means it is not genuine! That is so deceiving, I would still like a refund!

    • +2

      Koganed!

    • They are not original, they say they are compatable blades, many people are selling these blades and Gillette is not able to do anything as the patents have expired. There are also genuine Gillette blades from Poland??? being sold that are different to the German Gillette blades.

      Looks like you were Koganed.

      • For the average consumer the product listing is not very clear.

They could have said this is not the retail version and does not come in box and also the fact they are not original Gillette. It also says they were made in USA. The box it came in does not have any identification to say they were from USA.

I emailed them for a refund and I got the template refund reply. Pathetic.

        Thanks for your email.

As per the products listing, due to health and safety regulations we are unable to accept the following products for return under the terms of our Returns Policy for 'change of mind’ purposes: personal massagers, TENS products, headphones, earpieces, headsets, toothbrushes, thermometers, haircare and personal grooming products.
