Be quick guys!

Update: Kogan has tweeted that this was not a price error, however this has since been quickly removed and it is unknown if orders will be honoured.

    so saved 439!

Not looking good :( Kogan just deleted all the tweets about it not being a price error. DAMN YOU!!

    • anyone get any screenshots of it before it was deleted?

      • Nope

  • lol..

looks like all the Kogan "official" tweets about the S4 deal have now been deleted

  • I think they have deleted their comments re the "Not pricing error" comment.

  • +1

Oh no… can anyone share a screenshot of the twitter comments before they were deleted??? I need it to make them honour the deal!

  • carnage will ensue

  • Well, anyone that bought this phone with their 28 degree MC previously can try to use the new invoices to claim the difference.

I think they are under damage control now..

    • what a major f*** up all round..

hope they offer it to all of us for under $500 to make up for it..

  • +3

    Oh noes…
In the words of Tinny Tim: You raised my hopes and dashed them quite expertly sir, bravo

  • +5

Confirmed pricing Error. I just called them and they said we are very sorry …. You can call them on 1300 304 292 and you ll hear the same.

    • +1

They should put something on their website about it then. With the right kind of VOIP account they would be getting paid for every 1300 call. Another way to scam a few bucks.

  • +1

i called Kogan ,they said price error,I have to refund.also I called fair trading, they said the Kogan can cancel that if price error.

Not the first time this has happened - http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2110474

  • Sue them, this kind of mistake keep happening is ridiculous!

    • +4

Seriously? It sucks a bit but look at it from their point of view, after normal buisness hours the price was dropped by a further $180, the Internet erupted and they likely sold thousands of units.

Actually you know what scrap that, go and hire a lawyer for the price error… When the lawsuit is over can you scan the invoice so we can all get some lol's from this.

  • Kogan just lost it's reputation…

    • +2

and people lost precious interest on their $439 until Kogan refunds it.

      • -2

I missed out on the deal so I'm kind of glad everyone else did too!
        I'm selfish, I know.

        • +1

Watch out guys, we got a badass over here!

  • +1

Well, if it sounds too good to be true, probably it is.
I love sparing my money and effort on these way too good sounding deals but it's very entertaining to read other OBs complaining about it :)

    • +1

and that's why we all here, for the too good to be true bargain… and the hope that they will honor it :)

  • +1

Get ready for the neg vote storm

  • I already have a sony xperia Z, but I bought in anyway.. i knew it'd end up like this and all I really hope for is maybe some sort of 'sorry' voucher to make up for it.. hehe

  • +31

Im ANGRY!… (didnt even order, just joining the angry mob)

    • You'd be more angry if this wasn't a pricing error!

    • +1

      I'm always angry.

Ruslan Kogan eyeing an exit strategy from online store:
    http://www.brw.com.au/p/entrepreneurs/ruslan_kogan_eyeing_an…

Mr Kogan having his final troll on all of us!
He sure loves the OzB community!

    • Ruslan has the last laugh at all of us ravenous bargain hunting seagulls!

  • can everyone reverse their + vote to a negative

since it is a pricing error!

    • +1

why care about the score? It's going to end up in forums anyway

    • +1

      done

  • +1

What's annoying is that there is no "official" statement from Kogan yet. What about the non Ozb-ers who bought in yesterday.

  • +1

You guys got to learn from the smart guy who said that he didn't bother to wait for two weeks for the refund. Sometime by common sense something is too good to be true. Now you guys may have to be worrying about the refunds for the next several weeks. Good luck!

    • +1

Mate, that's why you are the IT veteran.
I think this whole debacle has made me a Kogan (weary) veteran.

  • +1

    Joining in the negathon

  • +1

    Damn you Kogan

  • Not negging the deal, but just thought I'd say: I hate Kogan.

    • +1

      That explains.. nothing :s

    • Useless tweet. What the…

  • +6

Well it's a good way for Kogan to grab everyone's details & build a bigger mailing list.. Sounds a bit dodgey

    • +2

And also generate traffic to their site + hold some payments.

Do you these sort of things have an automatic refund policy or do you contact them? I'm thinking they could net quite a lot if out of thousands of orders some people forget to contact..?

    • +5

Cheap way to do a stress test for his ecommerce site. He must have hired an Ozbargainer.

      • Ruslan is a very smart and cluey guy for sure!

  • :\

  • Maybe we will still get the phone :)

  • Haters gonna hate……Kogan

  • +1

I didnt buy but still not happy with Kogan now.

  • +13

They're probably having a big board meeting about this, deciding what to do with their reputation on OzBargain

  • +14

Man, stayed up til ~2am last night reading this thread, wake up, read about the tweets saying its legit, then BAM
Now theyre saying its NOT legit.
    I CANT HANDLE IT

    • +1

I did exactly the same thing =\ Cant handle these feels.

    • +2

I like your cat avatar :)

    • +1

Look at the bright side - you don't need to try to sell off your old phone now and you saved $400+ bucks in the process :P

  • +3

    what a joke Kogan is

  • I just tweeted Kogan. So far they've given me a vague answer.

    Me:

@Kogan Is this a price error? Lots of confusion. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/115953

    Kogan:

@ozbargainbuzz Hi , the correct listing is: http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/samsung-galaxy-s4-4g-lte-i9505-1…

So that's clear as mud. :)

    • Damn you kogan. DAMN YOU

    • Why are they skirting the issue? Why don't they just own up and say "yes, we're sorry we screwed up, it was a price error".

It's like their marketing team is incapable of owning upto a mistake.

    • They don't want to admit either way at this stage, so they don't open themselves up to liability. Gonna be some major damage control PR coming out of Kogan shortly.

  • If anyone has a screenshot of the tweet mentioned here could you please upload a copy, it may help (a tiny bit?) put pressure on Kogan to honour orders if it's mentioned in the main body of the post, thanks.

    Done, thanks Gackt :)

  • I ordered 2 - one via paypal and one via credit card. I was really excited until now :(

  • +2

I think there's still hope until they send out emails saying it's a pricing error and refund us

    • +3

I'm reminded of the flying pig episode of The Simpsons. It's just a little wet, it's still good, it's still good! Dad it's gone.

    • Here's a song for you while you keep praying you will get the deal honoured ;)

    I do loves my nexus4

  • Kogan keeps showing off about him honouring an old ozbargain deal with a pricing error, doesn't that mean he must honour this one too??

    • +15

That was for a $15 mug listed at $5 which he said cost him $30,000.
      A $629 phone listed at $409 - let's go with 5000 purchases = $1,100,000 loss. Huge difference.

      • Honouring this deal would probably send his company bankrupt!

  • +6

what i don't like is the fact that they just left the "price error" for like 6 hours.
They would have known about the unusually high traffic and and unusually high transactions that were coming in not so late in the night but didn't bother to "fix" it last night

plus they said on twitter that it was legit then deleted it

    • +1

Totally agree, kogan's fault so they should deal with it.

    • Ruslan sleeps at night too, you know.

  • +6

Maybe what Kogan did was took all our orders then ship out if the Iphone 5c was really cheap but claim pricing error if otherwise. Not cool.

    • this

      • +5

        is SPARTA!!

        • +1

          more like
'is KOGAN's way of doing business!!'

  • Checked my bank account and still haven't been charged, though I did use PayPal. Either way I do want the phone but at least the refund process wont be a headache.

  • +32

i got the screenshot of the twitter if you want to see it for yourself

    http://tinypic.com/r/14buy5v/5

    • Thanks for that

      • +3

np,I've been a long time lurker, so might as well make my self useful here :)

  • +14

This is a serious Black Eye for KOGAN how do they expect to be taken seriously as a company that solely operates online when they cant even manage the price of their products. Absolutely Pathetic and there is no excuses for it!

    • serious brand damage just as he is looking to sell the business off! ouch!

well not really.. cause he's a multi millionaire already..

  • How does something like this happen ?

  • +6

    What learned from this…….

    Take screen shots of Twitter

    • +1

Do you think that a twit post admitting the fault would hold up in court?
Twitter is a joke platform and they could just say a disgruntled employee hacked it.

  • -2

My source tells me its NOT a pricing error. I wouldn't be making claims that it is just yet!

    • +3

What is your source, and how credible is it?
