  • Damn i'm thinking about using my "10% discount on next order" promo code from my E531 order to buy this

    lol

Where did you get the promo code from?
      I can't see anything in my emails…

  • 3 cell battery. Bit annoying.

  • there was an option, a checkbox to subscribe and get 10% off next order while placing the order. I didn't subscribe either.

Have a look here, the discount code may help.

Been using one of these on loan from Lenovo at work for the last week. Its a very nice laptop.

    PROS:

    Great battery life
    Great screen
Extremely nice to use when sitting watching tv or in waiting room if you are a mobile user. It sits well in the lap and doesn't want to fall backwards like the Samsung ATIV
Lenonvo has done little things like hide all the technical number for the machine on hidden tabs so when the laptop is open you don't see numbers written all over your tablet, unlike the Samsung ATIV that looks like a Samsung technical billboard…YUK.

    CONS:

The plastic on the top if a little of of a fingerprint magnet
The little cover on the back that opens could break
No restore image disks….my current pet hate with all providers I hate the image being on the HDD. Plus it came with no software to back this up. In my line of business this is a huge issue.

    Cons.

    • Loud cpu fan. Always running despite not being on heavy load. Of course you can install 3rd party to control it but this will run hot. The tablet / screen portion does in fact heat up.

    • Stylus. Can't use another stylus while there is one in the silo. Same thing with a Samsung Note so whatever.
But this stylus is crap compared to the s-pen and the microsoft surface pen (best out of the lot). When I was using it in photoshop the pressure sensitivity drifted in and out. For prolonged use another digitizer is recommended. I drew an image that the Lenovo media page were sharing without my consent to demonstrate that it is capable to be used as a graphics tablet. I suggest to others considering it use it as such to choose another alternative.

    • For a part ultrabook the keyboard is heavy. It's common but the keyboard must be connected to the tablet to work with it. It would help if they just made keyboards link with some bluetooth connectivity.

    • The hinge / stand / dock point only allows one angle in laptop mode. Something for them to consider if they are charging this price.

    • Obviously the ram is not upgradeable after purchase so be wary of what you need to use it for.

Other than that the price went up something like $200 since it's release in Australia. They were offering it for longer 3 yr warranty too, now only 1 yr. I think the Samsung Ativ x700t is closet to it specs and features but doesn't have the 3g. This isn't an anti Helix post, just more of a heads up to know what to expect because you can't physically try it out until you buy it or your company has access to one.

  • Also for anyone considering, keep in mind its lenovo, theres been lots of really bad reports lately with their warranty service, can take many months with extremely poor communication. I had a similar problem myself and would avoid Lenovo due to the warranty service being so bad. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1996210&p… Just wanted people to be aware of that.
