You guys should check your email, bulk proteins sent out an email explaining their situation.

    • +1

They shouldn't be selling stock they don't have, the least they could have said on their website is that the product is temporarily out of stock instead of us making orders and paying and them playing catch up.

      • Our business model isn't the same as a retailer, as you can see on our site we provide a custom packaging service which removes the ability to hold large amounts of finalised stock as we need to be flexible. We instead rely on high production capacity which works great until every order you receive is a different item. We knew when we decided to sell direct to customers that this was going to lower our capacity but we underestimated by how much.

With that said though we have shifted Bulk Proteins over to sell directly from stock only. Which is why we now have our guarantees.

  • +1

The Rep underestimated the power of Ozbargain

    • +8

Yes we are waiting for Ozbargain to release merchandise such as "Ozbargained 2013" and a list of all companies including us.

  • +6

It's a new business and at least they've shown some ability to deal with customers online. If the product is decent I'd be willing to give them another go a few months down the track when they've ironed the kinks out.

  • Glad no perverted blokes made the usual protein jokes :)

still waiting on my samples from last week zz

    • oh, you poor thing!

  • Order Placed on October 13, 2013 09:08PM
    Fulfillment Status: unfulfilled

    no samples yet

    • +1

To be fair, judging by the difference in order numbers from the order I made from before the samples to the sample orders I placed, they had several thousand sample orders. Probably be a while for the samples. However they straight out lied on shipping the products people paid for, I got a shipping confirmation from them on 18/10. Today I got a shipping confirmation/consignment no. from Fastway Couriers, and the consignment no. isn't even active yet. Despite the huge amount of orders, theres no excuse for lying and actually shipping it out two weeks after being paid for.

      • +2

We are very sorry about the shipping notifications that went out. It is a message generated from our shopping cart system when we change the status of an order. We change this status when they guys have the product ready for dispatch. It then is processed through the courier software. The timeframe between these tasks is usually a few hours but since we had software issues on Friday we have had a technician from the Courier company work on a solution up until Tuesday Afternoon. We started processing all the labels from these orders on Wednesday and have finally finished processing them all today. Although adding labels may seem like an easy task, in huge numbers and when every second address needs to be fixed to suit a database of accepted addresses it takes a while for us to process. Again we are truly sorry for the delays.

        • +1

I appreciate the effort. You really should have put a 500 sample order limit or something and then repeat the offer again a few weeks later at a larger scale. Doing thousands of orders in one hit is quite ambitious. I'm sure you'll pull it off though.

  • -1

I ordered on the 14th, got a shipping confirmation email on the Friday 18th. A week later, now Friday 25th it has still not arrived and have not heard anything. My understanding is that they are located in Brisbane. My delivery address is South Brisbane, maybe 10km away. I ordered $70 of stuff, no samples. I've had to buy some supplements elsewhere as I ran out mid week. Pretty terrible service. Won't be back.

  • Note: Ordered on the 13th from 20% off sale Items still not arrived.

  • Has anyone received any (paid or sample) order from Bulk Proteins?

    • We haven't been able to move on to sample orders due to the overwhelming response to our 20% off sale, some people have received their paid orders and others are still on their way. We are almost at a stage where we can start processing sample orders however we want to make sure all the paid orders have been fulfilled correctly as we have had multiple software and hardware issues due to the volume.

      • l hope you will extend your 20% off sale for those of us waiting to try out your samples first.

        • Previously Posted:

To be honest we can't run the promotion back to back, however we might bring it back in a month or so when we are confident we can do it smoothly. The guys have been slammed and are putting in serious hours to get all these orders sorted out. Also we need to look at our systems as at the moment we are using 4 different systems to try and cope and none of them talk correctly to each other. Most of the time we need to just resort to working off paper copies as our shopping cart software isn't very friendly and it doesn't connect with our shipping providers software.

Sorry we can't extend it but its more important that we re-group, get everything working as it should and have back up plans for when software or hardware fail which they have done a lot over the past 2 weeks.

    • +1

Nothing yet. Lucky Ive stocked up with BN.

  • +3

Bit frustrated - held out for some time for samples to arrive to be able to assess your product before putting in an order.

Have in the meantime completely ran out of my current supplies - have not had a proper protein rich breakfast in over a week! Gave in and restocked from Bulk Nutrients instead: ordered Wednesday afternoon, arrived this morning.

Will give consideration to your store when the time comes following your sample, but have got considerable stock to whittle down before I need to re-order. I hope you have things sorted by the time this comes around again - I want to support a store that supports OZB.

  • Thank you to one of our customers for uploading a full video of his WPI quality and taste test. Check out his video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygeLnyKoJhU

I'm convinced… Although, when can I ACTUALLY get my hands on some?

    • +1

Rep I have still not received any courier number or any communication from your company about my order with no samples that I paid for on the 14th. Your company does not reply to emails or any communication. What the hell is going on?

      • The guys should be responding to every email that comes in however I understand that they must not have responded to yours. Send me an email at [email protected] and I will sort it out for you personally.

  • +1

I kinda pity this guys. They have over 14000 clicks. Imagine if 3/4 of them ordered.

Anyway looking forward to receive their samples before I go back to other brands. Need to shred in 2 months!

    • The rep has already said they have not begun to process a single order of the samples. This is purely in relation to paid orders which they cannot seem to handle or provide any communication in regards to

    • +1

Pity isn't the word you're looking for.

  • +1

Got my 500g Vanilla WPI today, had no issues with mixability packaging etc, however taste was odd, tasted nothing like any other protein brand I've tried, probably due to the different sweeteners used but it was actually kind of bitter when I mixed it with water.. Be interesting when my sample order arrives and if this is just limited to the vanilla flavour

    • Also props to Bulk Proteins for sending the sample orders through courier, despite being free

    • Interesting, the bitterness. Rep said they use Natvia as a sweetener. I use Natvia all the time for hot drinks and cooking and Ive found it has quite a pleasant taste. I too have ordered the Vanilla wpi and wpc, so I'll report back on the taste.

  • +1

Pity I didn't get my samples in time I was going to do an order if the samples were good, but they didn't arrive in time, so I stocked up with someone else.

  • I wanted to order some mango flavoured protein powder shows they are avail in samples but not paid?

  • has anyone actually recieved their order/samples? I have ordered almost 3 weeks ago (Fri) and still nothing at all.

    • +3

Nope, people that actually purchased protein before the samples were offered are still waiting.

I feel a bit sorry for these guys - they obviously had no idea about the demand (and their ability to supply the product) and it's hurt their reputation rather than solidify it. Tough as a start up to deal with but a good learning experience nonetheless.

If they have a good product then they need to go away, work out the kinks in their supply/order handling/distribution and come back.

Heck, even major brands get OzBargain'ed when they offer freebies and go out of stock quickly… there was never any way these guys were going to be able to cope with a no-strings-attached freebie.

      • Especially when certain vultures place 100 orders for themselves.

I'm genuinely interested in becoming a customer and really wanted to try the samples I ordered with a view to purchase them if quality sufficed.

    • +2

I still havent recieved my order made on the 9/10 (before the samples) this is really annoying

  • +2

Not only did I pay for the full product (ordered before the samples came out), but I also paid for express shipping and I've been waiting for 3 weeks. I got an update from their courier via email that the package is in transit but upon contacting them directly it hasn't even been picked up yet so I take it that I won't be seeing anything this week either.

Really a bit of a shame, particularly if this company turns out to be legit - they are offering great service and products but so far delivery has been non-existent and I feel like there was minimal if any effort on their part to keep their customers informed with respect to these overly long delays. Reputation is everything in business and starting on the wrong foot can really make things hard later on.

    my 2c.

    • +5

Reputation is king (especially on OzBargain where we seem to have long memories).

They should at minimum refund the difference in the express vs standard post however.

  • +1

Received a shipment this week of chocolate WPI, after waiting 2 and a half weeks.

WPI mixes ok with water, but taste is basically non existent. I kept reducing water levels to the absolute minimum necessary to improve taste but it didn't help at all. Barely any flavour at all.

Mixed it with milk this evening to see if taste could be improved … after shaking for a good 20 seconds, clumps were stuck to the shaker bottle and ball, so basically didn't mix at all in milk.

Overall 3/10. Was definitely not worth the wait in the end. Will stick to the good old optimum nutrition, even if it has lower protein levels. At least I know I am getting good flavours and mixability when I pay for ON.

    • +1

Put some cocoa in it or stop being a baby.

    • +2

Exactly like my experience cant taste the strawberry at all. Mate get Bulk Nutrients you wont regret it.

  • +4

It's a becoming a bit BullShit been waiting 19 days since ordering 1kg at 20% off change of shipping no credit refund yet blah blah blah. Then they send a fastway email with no tracking number.. Fast giving up on actually seeing a delivery. After end of this month October it's refund time.

  • Fortunately based on the reviews above - I only ordered the Free Samples.

  • I've ordered 2 KG with free samples too and am still waiting.

I guess its good to know I am not the only one in this boat, shame though about their total lack of communication.

Sure being late is a pity but not replying to emails asking whats going on is inexcusable, I also dont like the taste report back from above.

I had a bit of a look into bulkproteins.com and found some interesting things. It is registered under the company COURK PTY LTD with 3 existing trading names (Bulk Proteins, Mini Legs and The Pet Market Australia) http://abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbn.aspx?abn=31150549750.

As of 9/09/2013 COURK PTY LTD has been degreistered and there is a ASIC insolvency notice present on this company. https://connectonline.asic.gov.au/RegistrySearch/faces/landi…

Evulse.com, also registered under COURK PTY LTD and under the owner's name is a fishing website with a trojan on it (DO NOT GO TO THIS WEBSITE). http://www.whois.com/whois/evulse.com

This seems like a massive scam to me. I requested a paypal refund a few days ago and the seller hasn't responded. It will take 30 days for paypal to go through the process. Be warned.

      • +1

Thanks for the research and update cloudsdbz, well done.

I might have to begin a Paypal dispute too.

        • +1

IF it is a scam, perhaps it's in relation to gaining 1000's of customer details who are interested in supplements rather than scamming money. As this deal has over 14,000 clicks, even a portion of that who ordered samples will make a very big list of details that are worth quite a bit to marketing companies.

I don't see how a new company with limited funds could send seemingly unlimited amounts of samples to people. (I.e it wasn't limited to the first 100 people). Postage alone would cost $1000's not to mention giving up to 90g of product away.

        • -3

As mentioned below we are not a new company we have just changed our focus. We have the cash flow of our existing operations behind us and is why we hit the market so hard and will continue to do so. We have had a few issues with the shear volume we have received as it was unexpected however we are working hard to make sure we can handle this volume without any delays in the future.

        • +1

I find it interesting how you have not posted anything on ozbargain for days (or replied to any emails or facebook), yet reply within 40 minutes of me posting the above post.

How are you operating with a ACN that is deregistered and that has an ASIC insolvency notice on it?

"What’s the company’s status? Is it registered, deregistered or under external administration?
You should only deal with a registered company. If it’s deregistered, then the company can’t legally operate. If it’s under external administration (shown as EXAD in your search), you know that it has run into financial trouble and you should be cautious about dealing with it."

          Taken from http://www.asic.gov.au/asic/asic.nsf/byheadline/Dealing+with…

As you are replying for the first time in days, please respond to the numerous requests for refunds in paypal.

        • We are just working to resolve all this issues we have had. It's easy to see what was suppose to be a simple 20% off sale for our customers has turned in to a catastrophe. The sale trended on here, reddit and many other places, we thought we were well prepared but it has very clear they we weren't. Our focus is to rectify all the people who have contacted us about missing orders and have them resolved. We are working days, nights and weekends at the moment to make sure this is all sorted.

After that we will look in to our future and how it is even possible to recover from what was suppose to be a high point for the brand.

In regards to ASIC it's as simple as a missed form we were required to lodge. It is being rectified and we have been in contact as soon as one of our suppliers pointed out that our ASIC status had changed.

        • You say this:

To clear this up COURK PTY LTD is the company who runs Bulk Proteins. Yes it is currently deregistered and this is being fixed with ASIC this is an error and is being rectified. It was caused because of inactivity while we shifted the company from operating as Evulse

          yet you say this:

We have the cash flow of our existing operations behind us and is why we hit the market so hard and will continue to do so

The deregistration from ASIC is only given if the company has not filed reporting for atleast 6 months and is then given a 2 month warning prior to actually being deregistered. That means for ATLEAST 8 months no business has been operating. What cash flow?

        • +1

          Straight from ASIC's mouth (http://www.asic.gov.au/asic/ASIC.NSF/byHeadline/ASIC%20initi…)

Generally, we can deregister a company when it has not:

          • paid its annual review fee for at least 12 months after the payment due date (s601AB(1A) of the Corporations Act)

          • responded to a Company compliance notice (return of particulars) at least six months after the response was required, has not lodged any other document in the last 18 months and we have no reason to believe the company is carrying on business (s601AB(1) of the Corporations Act), or

          • lodged any other document in the last 18 months and we have no reason to believe the company is carrying on business (s1447 of the Corporations Act).

What do I make of this:

          1. If you cant pay a $236 annual fee within 12 months of it becoming overdue, AND/OR

          2. Comply with ASIC demands within 6months of it becoming overdue, AND/OR

          3. Done anything in the last 18months.

          THEN

There is no way in hell I'd want to consume any of your product, ever. Sorry, but either way - you've got some pretty severe issues if you cant get your legal compliance shit together in those timeframes and as a result there is not a hope in hell I'd trust you to do something in an industry that has recently been shown to have participants selling product that is not genuine or as marketed.

Happy to be proven wrong (details will be required), but on the facts presented - my mind is made up unless something extraordinary comes to light.

      • To clear this up COURK PTY LTD is the company who runs Bulk Proteins. Yes it is currently deregistered and this is being fixed with ASIC this is an error and is being rectified. It was caused because of inactivity while we shifted the company from operating as Evulse which was a big e-commerce agency who dealt with clients such as Black Milk Clothing, Beginning Boutique and many other large Australian e-commerce brands to our own operations.

We con confirm thousands of people have received their orders and we are working hard to resolve the remaining orders that have not been dispatched correctly due to either importing issues or the fact they were marked as shipped by staff when in fact they were not yet dispatched.

As for the Trojan, this is just a side effect of not constantly updating a Wordpress site. Hackers love them and there are many bots that scan the internet for outdated versions and then apply known vunerabilities.

        • Why would you, an IT specialist who owns and runs a webdesign company a) be using wordpress, b) not keep it updated c) not remove the trojan. I used cache and take me back and it seems to be like this for a long way back.

          www.theitangell.com.au (Another company venture?)

"The IT Angell is a family-owned web + print design business specialising in affordable, high-quality websites, business cards, flyers, order books and more for SMEs just like us.

        • Simple answer is we don't monitor these websites. They will continue to stay online for as long as we continue to pay for the hosting they are used on.

To answer your question The IT Angell is a very old business of mine and is what originally formed in to Evulse.

        • It is still your responsibly and your company is liable. Taken from the Wordpress TOS.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Evulse and hopefully clarify things.

I just opened a dispute at Paypal but I want to be clear that my preference is to get my orders delivered - I paid for 2Kg WPI & Rice Protein + samples to try flavours before a large order.

You guys should make time to reply to emails as with a little communication alot of the anxiety would disappear.

        • We are very sorry about the email situation, the guys are operating from one mail box and have had issues making sure everything is replied to. To fix this issue we just implemented desk.com and the guys are now working from this. This means all emails will be replied to however we do currently have a rather huge back log and the guys are working through them one by one.

We are very optimistic all order issues will be resolved over this weekend.

        • -1

We don't enjoy having hacked websites still floating around the internet. However our priorities are with our customers and the orders they have placed and until every last enquiry is handled we don't have the resources to be able to either fix or remove these.

While all these questions and concerns are very valid and require a response, We do have a lot of emails to process and for the meantime I am going to have to put these topics aside and help the guys make sure everyone is receiving their orders.

    wheres me bloody protein samples?!

    • +1

long way for you mate, they haven't even begun to be processed yet!

    • -1

Information about the samples will be sent out soon. As you have probably read some people have been unhappy with our flavours. We are deciding if we are going to continue to offer a newer flavour range or if we are going to go back to selling pure supplements as we originally did. As soon as we decide if we are going to continue to offer flavoured WPI or not we will either update people when they will receive samples of the new flavoured range or if they would like to try the pure supplements. We respect all SPAM and Privacy laws and will not use any details from the sample orders and can assure people their information is only used for these purposes.

  • Still waiting on my protein. Obviously still wasn't shipped when I received the second shipping confirmation and it's been a week and a half and still nothing. This is despite being assured "Now that you have received the final notification you can track the progress but it usually only takes a day or two to arrive".

Literally have a scoop or two left of my current protein, so now i'm going to be without protein for a while. Ordered this weeks ago so this wouldn't happen!

C'mon BP, taking a while to fulfil orders is one thing, but lying about it and sending out (2) shipping confirmation emails when the product hasn't been shipped is not good enough.

  • +2

OK order placed 13 October. Emailed and Commented on this thread on 21 October, and received no reply to either one. It is now 4 November, and order status remains "Unfulfilled".

I don't particularly mind, given I paid nothing. But it is surprising that I haven't received any automated emails about delays or my order still being in the system. Had I been a paying customer I would have called my credit card company by now to reverse the transaction.. as I have had no assurance that my order is still being taken seriously.. At this point I would be assuming I had been taken for a ride. An email or two might prevent such a reaction.

What about the many people who placed paid orders weeks ago and have heard nothing? Best scenario after waiting a month (or more), I receive my protein that tastes terrible and won't mix properly? I also have major concerns about contamination and health/safety of the product being mixed and packaged in a shop that used to operate as your web design company.

Warning to people who purchased via paypal. You only have up to 45 days from the order being placed to raise a dispute with paypal for a refund. As many of us are coming up to 30 days, time is running out!

How are you dealing with refund requests? (Well you aren't)
        1. People who have waited weeks and want to cancel their order?
        2. People who have received (the 3 people) their order and are not satisfied?

        • I do come from an e-commerce background and my specialty is in that, however the rest of the team are not.

We are an Australian company and as such we are governed by Australian Laws covering food preparation, food labeling and other well developed standards. Anyone involved in our manufacturing process are required to wear gloves, hair nets and follow other hygiene standards. I'm not involved in the manufacturing and even I have a Certificate in Food Preparation so that I also understand the requirements.

As for the refunds, anyone who wants to cancel their order is welcome to as long as it is not currently in transit or has already been delivered. We have processed all refund requests we have currently received. As for people who are not satisfied with the product they are more than welcome to contact us and we will resolve on a case to case basis and have already been doing so.

        • So, Im still a little unclear. What exactly can we expect moving foward? I ordered choc and vanilla and am not fussed by flavouring as I can enhance that myself, mixability however is an isssue. My order was on 14 October.

        • The mix-ability is also the biggest concern to us and we never thought this was going to be an issue. All our ingredients are highly soluble and through all of our testing we have never had any issues. Our only conclusion is as the ingredients are sitting together for a longer period they are causing a reaction which is causing it to either bond or another type of reaction. It isn't causing major mix-ability issues but not the 10/10 rating we would like. We are also the only company to use stevia as a sweetener and think this may be the main cause of the issues, the guys who look after product development are working hard testing out new stevia products and flavours to come up with a product that is the best it can be.

Also have you already received your order?

        • I received a Fastway tracking email on 28 October saying the order had been picked up in Brisbane for delivery to Melbourne. I have not received anything. My order was for 250g choc wpi and 250g vanilla wpi and three samples. I have also emailed your site enquiring as to the status of my order with no reply.

As I said, im not overly concerned with the flavouring right now (you can fix that later) but I would nonetheless like to receive my order.

        • Just email me directly and I will look in to it and hopefully get it all sorted today. [email protected] The guys are getting through emails but they are still 3 days behind.

      • +3

Cool. Your proactive communication here at least, gives me some faith in your business. I've seen a few firm reps start to lose their temper and professionalism under the pressure of online scrutiny to their own demise.

Hope you get these early kinks sorted out quickly. Best of luck!

  • Order still shows 'unfulfilled'…

  • +2

    Still waiting for the sample

  • Just posting about the quality of the protein. I ordered whey protein isolate in mango flavour. I've never had isolate before (only concentrate) and it was a very white ground down powder. Mixing it with milk had solubility issues and the faintest hint of mango was tasted amongst the powdery milky mess.

For some reason it didn't even seem like protein at all because there was no resemblance to my normal "optimum nutrition gold standard" protein. But I trust it is exactly what it says it is on the packaging. Just not ideal for what it's intended purpose is.

    • Agreed, so glad that I didn't purchase an order with them!

    • The samples are just being delayed while we improve our product. Some people haven't been completely happy with the strength of our flavouring and sending out samples of our current blend would just be a waste of resources, as by the time people have tried the flavours we would already have released a whole new improved flavour range.

      • What about people who ordered product and samples together in the same order? Will they have to wait?

We don't let samples hold up orders. So if the guys have packed an order and the samples are not in stock we will just dispatch the order and keep a note to send out the samples when they are ready.

        • I also ordered product and samples and am yet to receive anything. I was promised my order would be dispatched last week. I have sent a further email requesting this be sorted out by today or I want a refund. I have not heard anything. I'm normally a very patient person but this is stretching it. Honestly, just send me the unflavoured wpi, i dont want the flavoured stuff if you cant provide it.

    Good news!

You can order more samples: http://bulkproteins.com.au/products/sample

Of course our original samples are yet to arrive though… these guys are hilarious.

Why would anyone bother with pursuing their samples.

Even for matters of principle, they have proven that their lack of service and quality of product isn't worth our time in waiting for their free product sample to try.

I don't think I'm the only one thinking that since this thread has died in the ass.

I wouldn't bother with these guys even if they turn their shit around and offer better product at a lower price. Their rep has already been tarnished in my eyes.
