Picked one up. For $6 what could possibly go wrong?

      famous last words

  • Hope the mini ones will still be compatible with the new minis!

    • -1

The new mini is a little thicker I think so if it's a snug fit it won't

      • +1

The old covers should fit the new one. Being thicker won't cause an issue because these covers only sit on the top of the device. Plus, the new Apple original iPad Mini smart covers fit both old and new minis, suggesting that old covers will to.

oh thought these cover the top and bottom (I prefer covers that cover the whole device). If this is just the front then there should be no problems given it is the same height and width.

        • Yeah, they're just the covers, not the case.

  • Thanks!

  • that is awesome value

  • Ordered one, great find!!

  • Grabbed one too
May as well give it a try before dropping 45 on the apple one.

  • it says it will be shipped by November 26th .. its presale

    • Only some colours.

    • Yeah looks like just it's the black ipad cover that ships on the 26th

"Warranty for 5 years for only $1.68"
    Seriously?

    • +2

Grab that warranty. It's good value. It will cost more to send it back than getting a new one would cost.

Kogan and Australia Post; quite the double team.

      • Warranty for 5 years on the iPad Mini case for only $0.84

If you buy the warranty, I would guess Kogan would just refund your $6 if anything goes wrong.

"Kogan and Australia Post; quite the double team."

        Sounds painful!

  • thanks, grabbed one

My brother bought one from Kogan last sale in March for 9$. It was terrible and can't keep his iPad up straight.
However I decided to bought one for me last September since I just need something to cover my ipad's screen and they seem to fix the problem, mine was solid. Just ordered one for my gf!

  • is it genuine apples's smart cover ? or kogan's?

    • Kogan's

    • +6

I hope it's genuine Kogan then.

      • +1

        Which means poor quality?

In fact this is the first time that I can resist the deal as it is coming from Kogan.

  • +1

It's Kogan's - I grabbed one last time when they were $10. Really horrible quality - but for $10 what would you expect. I mean it worked, but got really used and frayed after a few weeks use.

    • I'm going to claim the warranty just to see how dodge Kogan is.

  • Bought one in pink and one in blue!!

  • Have a grey genuine one, so I grabbed a blue to see how they compare. The genuine is amazing and has lasted for well over a year.

  • Thanks! Purchased! Now just need some deals on ipad air covers! :)

  • Bought a black one in preperation for iPad Mini 2. Let's see how it goes. Can't go wrong for $6.
Do these covers scratch the side on the hinge or it's all good?

  • Bought one.

  • I do suggest do not buy it. Kogan own brand product normally is very poor quality.

  • Thanks, if I get a year out of it that will do.

  • +1

Just keep in mind this doesnt cover the back of the ipad. Just a front cover with a magnetic hinge.
It put your ipad into sleep mode when you fold it to the back of the ipad. Very annoying, would not recommend this.

    • can you buy 2 and clip one on the back? somehow..

      • +1

        I hope you're kidding.

    • It put your ipad into sleep mode when you fold it to the back of the ipad. Very annoying, would not recommend this.

Definitely doesn't do this. At least, the official Smart Cover doesn't and there's no reason this would too.

      • Well, this is not an official Smart Cover. Do you have one of these? How do you know it definitely doesnt do this?
And I own one, so i am telling you this happen.
FYI, sleep cover work using magnet sensor within the ipad. So if a cover is poorly made, the ipad can still sense the magnet even though the cover is at the back of the ipad.

        • … this guy. The iPads sensor is only on the front, how on earth would it be detected on the back, regardless of the magnet used in the case.

        • -1

I have a STM Skinny case for Ipad (Ipad2 in my case), and it sometimes does put it to sleep when fully open. Usually when laid flat on a hard surface and the case is pressed hard against the back. Mind you the rear has a full plastic shell and it still does it. I put it down to magnets that are too strong???
          This is the case:
          http://www.stmbags.com/catalog/ipad-cases/skinny3-ipad3rdgen…

        • -1

If the magnet is strong enough, it will detect it.
Well it does for me. Do you need me to make a video to show that this happen?
If you want i will do it.

  • Even if these break apart within 2 weeks its still good value. $6! Cases are so expensive in Australia…. $50 for the apple one? No thanks.

  • +2

Not worth it, its a great price, but i bought this for my gf back at $9 and the amount of times it has fallen off, we bought another from ebay which comes with a back cover instead of just the magnetic strip and its 100x better

  • Does anyone think that they ran out already ? Just thinking

  • i got an iPad Mini one last time. The build quality is fairly good, but the magnetic part that attaches the cover to the side of the iPad Mini doesn't stay on properly, as the magnets they use are very weak. I just use it as a screen cover, which makes it a good buy.

  • Amazes me that people by fairly expensive gadgets then buy crap covers for them. Why bother. Think I have seen more broken iPhone screens than not. I only use otterbox, griffin or gumdrop but then again I'm too stingy to pay for them to get fixed or replaced. Have even dropped my Samsung note 2 down an escalator lol and it's as good as new.

  • -2

You can get griffin survivor mini ipad cases on US eBay for $30 and free delivery. Seems the better buy to me.

    • +1

??? Your trying to compare a heavy duty case that takes your nice thin tablet to 28.5mm thick!… to a folding screen protector/stand that is 1/5 the price?

  • No I'm pointing out that I'd rather spend a small amount of money to protect something worth a few hundred dollars than 5 bargain bucks on something that's going to do shite all but look ugly and apparently fall off.

  • Will these work on the new mini retina?

    • Already answered above by puffinfresh. Answer is probably yes.

  • +1

Those want genuine Apple leather smart covers Telstra shop is doing clearance for $29 and belkin snap shield for $10 each.

  • aren't they at msy for $2?

    • Delivered?

  • I received mine today, and I'm very disappointed with the packaging. It was posted in a thin envelope and the part that connects to the mini was bent.

  • I ordered and paid for two. Received one. First and last time dealing with Kogan.

  • I'm missing one too. Will contact them and see what they say. Not good enough

    • +1

Got my second one today. Don't stress, they send them seperatly. Idiots.

  • Lol yeah this thing is absolutely useless. Doesn't stay together when you fold it up like the real ones.
So if you try and use it as a stand itll just fall apart and your iPad will fall.

    Nice work Kogan.

    • +1

I take it back, I'm a bit of an idiot haha.

I was folding it the wrong way wrong, with the soft material on the inside. This inst the way they were designed to be used but you could do that with the genuine ones as the magnet is stronger.

Its actually pretty good for $6, the magnet seems strong enough to trust this as a stand. Obviously build quality isn't quite as good as an Apple one, it doesnt fully fit the iPad as well, but the functions seem to work fine. I'll use it for a while and make up my mind.

      Also theyre back on sale.
