So 100K QFF points is now worth just $470! Read that and weep QFF members….oh! for the good old days.

    • you're much better off redeeming them for international flights… last time i checked, a return to Europe was about 130K

      • +2

a return to Europe was about 130K

Plus about $900 in taxes and stuff…

Which if you'd bought the actual tickets for would cost about $1809, so in that case 128,000 points is worth about $900

        • +7

Economy redemptions usually aren't good value, unless you're doing last minute or obscure domestic routes. Best off using them for business/first class flights (esp. round the world) or upgrades, you're looking at a value of 1.5c per point at the bare minimum.

      • Article on points value on www.ausbt.com.au spoke about value.

Base cash equivalent value on non flight is 13,500 points for $100 myer/others gift card. circa .74c/point.

Base rate on flights is anything from .71c to 8c/point depending on flights and ticket level as mentioned by jv. Its complicated to get the best value on a simple interstate flight in Australia.

  • Isn't this just a "fundraiser" to pay off the Avalon 53?

  • Where is the actual link for joining via special rate?

    • +2

      ITs not the 11th yet.

  • is this better than the woolworths employee discount joining fee?

    • Are you thinking of the Qantas Frequent Flyer membership, or is there a special deal for Woolworths employees to join Qantas Club?

      • Corporate rate, perhaps

        • quote from woolworths employee website.

"When you join The Qantas Club, as a Woolworths Limited employee you will only pay a $200 joining fee. Annually this membership can be renewed for $348 which is a $137 saving on the standard Qantas Club rate."

so is the posted deal cheaper?

        • Thanks heathwithnoteeth - there must be a page I didn't see. I did a quick search for it and came up with this page http://www.wowcareers.com.au/page/Come_and_work_for_us/Emplo… which is supposedly about Qantas Club but really about Qantas Frequent Flyer.

        • apparently we (woolworths emplyees) can only salary sacrifice to get the deal. still not sure if it cheaper than this posted deal… im going OS next year so am contemplating doing it, but not sure which deal to go for.

        • $548 Woolworths price opposed to $470 here

  • -1

Can only see full-price memberships. Does it change on 11/11?

  • -2

    My quote is : 1 year $485.00 + $370.00

    • -1

As was mine. Must be a targeted offer.

      • +6

Perhaps, but it's not the 11th yet

      • Yep, its still the 10th today.

My companies corporate rate is $480 for 2 years and its available to all the plebs. Most workplaces have access to a corporate rate. This is not a deal

    • +2

tell us moare about the excellent company you work for! :p

      • +2

Don't be angry, just ask your employer. The rate for defence 4 years ago was $180/yr but i'm sure it's gone up since then but no where near this stupid rate. Corporate rates are as common as credit cards that offer the QFF points.

The club isn't worth it regardless.

        • About 6 years ago, it was $125/yr or $250 for 2 years. 10 years ago, Qantas Club was worth it, but now not - food is barely satisfactory, not enough hot food, often overcrowded and hard to find quiet seating, etc

Don't be angry, just ask your employer.

I just had a chat to myself and told myself 'no deal'…

    • The standard corporate rate is $400 per year and $710 for 2 years, excluding sign up.

The corporate deal only applies to a minimum of 10 members.

This is a deal for a small business/individual that plans on travelling frequently over the next year or so.

Wow its getting harder to justify eh?
Im glad u got lifetime membership before they stopped offering it.

Even @ $470, you'd want to be making a return flight every few weeks or a few OS flights to make it worth while. It is good to have somewhere to top up before a jetstar flight & a shower before heading going home.

    • Be aware, if you're departing Sydney and flying on Jetstar, i'm pretty sure the QC in T2 is closed now.

  • double post deleted

  • I doubt Miranda would be in the Qantas Club as their site implies. VIP room instead ;-)

  • I remember a 2 year for one deal that I bought a while ago, wish that came back.
