Aldi Electric Pole Pruner 900W $99.99

50

Hey Guys,

This looks like a good deal. A lot cheaper than other pruners out there.

Does anyone have experience with Aldi power tools?

Do they hold up?

Cheers

Aldi are so irresponsible selling tools for idiots to go around chopping down electric power poles. I can't imagine there is a huge demand electric power pole pruners,I've never seen anyone in my street cutting down the power poles.

    • That's because you have underground power…

    • go around chopping down electric power poles.

      for firewood?

  • I was looking at this, but it only reaches about 2.5 metres…

There are petrol ones on ebay that can do up to 6 metres and don't cost too much more…

We have one that reaches ~4.5m (eBay Chinese Honda knock-off), works well but is very heavy and hard to control the tip at full length. I would hate to try and joust with a 6m one…

      • but you need horses for that….

        • I can come here for the bargains and jokes….

  • FYI, not sure what these are like, but last year they sold out the first day at the 4 stores near me.

Don't know about you but the stick/handle doesn't look that strong to me.
I am more concern about the chainsaw falling onto my head.

other than that, all is good.

  • Got one 2 years ago. Well worth it. Yes there are longer ones on eBay, but at full length it can be quite heavy and awkward.
Great blade, cuts like hot knife through butter. Have cuts heaps with it.

  • Oooooh, its a chainsaw on a stick. Took me a while.
These would make a great addition to the zombie apocalypse survival pack..

    • Yes it's essentially a mini chainsaw on a stick. Except this is electric powered so in a zombie apocalypse i wouldn't imagine there'd be a lot of electricity available. Perhaps a petrol powered one is better :)

  • How thick a branch can they cut through?

    • i hooked into a branch about 8-10 inches diameter….took some doing with different angles, but got there.

oooh, just noticed this is a new version that has detachable pole and can be used as a chainsaw. I like this new one even more than mine!
