sounds like it is a targeted email. i got a different code for free delivery with $30 spend.

i also got a code for 10% off, but i have to spend $220 :(

    • I never got the email, works for me

    • 10% off
      Enter code 220GEN23 at checkout.
When you spend $220 or more.
      Hurry, this weekend only.
      Offer ends 8th December 2013.

      • ok, i got 220GEN23 as well for the 10% off (expires 8 dec)

my code for free delivery over $30 is ADVENTDAY6 (expires 8 dec)

unfortunately all the specials seem to be chocolate, soft drinks and other junk food and i already used to $15 off $150 offer so i'm not going to be able to spend that much.

i want free delivery for coles. gee they are stingey!

@mattgal It's in today's Melbourne Herald Sun. Yes, it's a targeted code, it's targeted at everyone!

      • The free delivery code may not be targeted, but but the 10%-off codes sure as hell are! My code is for a spend of $460 or more…

  • Thanks OP!

  • awesome thank you unity1

You might like to chuck this in for the ladies.

Nivea Body Moisturiser Body Lotion Skin Firming 400m $0.99
    http://www2.woolworthsonline.com.au/Shop/ProductDetails?Stoc…

It's a pricing error that's been there since Wednesday.
Only for one, adding two or more brings the price to $5 each.

    • $6.99 for me (NSW).

      • Ditto in WA

  • Does anyone know if instore and online prices are the same/if not in your opinion which is cheaper and by how much roughly?

    • +4

online prices are more expensive, by ~5% overall. http://www.smh.com.au/national/supermarkets-charge-more-to-b…

      • +2

more than that. 8% at least

        • You were reading my mind while I was typing below!

    • +1

for specials, should be the same

    • +1

specials are the same, usual everyday prices are 5-10c more expensive online

      • Yeah but keep in mind they always up your value on weighed items or substituted items. The extra fee is for the extra service (pickers wages). With free delivery I'm not complaining.

Woolworths delivery has been great value to me

        • Me too. But only with the offers they have been running e.g. I'd hesitate before paying for a delivery. Also Ive spent a small fortune with them saving money with them so far! ;)

      • Averaged out over time our Woolworths online basket is about 7-8% higher than instore.
Most Coles online prices are close to or the same as instore.
Both go to town on fruit and veg prices, but Woolies is worse.
Coles don't have a sliding scale for delivery fees, but some days are cheaper than others.
Woolworths have more specials online, and in a good week they can serve to offset other contrasts.
Biggest issue/advantage for us is that with Woolies site, you can amend delivery day and time without cancelling the whole bloody order.
Even with their new website, Coles still hasn't managed to change that.
Coles also don't allow you to add notes next to products ordered. Being able to specify acceptable substitutes is important for us. Another thing Coles could have incorporated into their new site, but saw fit not to bother about.

        • i've tried both coles and woolworths from recent promos.

i seem to recall coles (not exactly sure though) saying something along the lines of you could change your order up to the night before delivery. they certainly didn't charge my credit card until late the night before delivery.

if you need to amend your order with woolworths you need to cancel your order. used any coupons? poof they are gone.

        • Coles don't charge your credit card until the time the order is scanned, which is an advantage as out-of-stock items aren't charged, so no sweating on $ returning onto card as is the case with Woolies. We've had to chase up cc returns on no less than THREE occasions, which is NOT good.

Coles do let you cancel an order up until 11.59pm on the day before scheduled delivery. Only Woolworths lets you change delivery day and time without actually cancelling the order. Changing content of orders (on both sites), means starting from scratch, losing coupons - and specials if no longer current.

In the meantime Woolies sent me an email with the code ADVENTDAY6 for free delivery, $30 min.

And the 10% off code they sent me? 460GEN23 for orders over $460. Yeah - not likely!!

    • Posted a comment above. Just noticed yours. I received the same code…

  • Looking at the similarity of the codes maybe have a play and try 50GEN23 or similar?

  • any bulky/heavy items on special like toilet paper?

  • +3

Nice - bottled water, mixers for the spirits, various tinned food and plenty of all of them and a couple of 10kg bags of rice thanks.
All delivered to the 3rd floor of the unit block I live in with no elevator

    • When does that Rice expire ?

      • If you want a long expiry date say so in your pickers notes.

  • Up&Go and Energize are $4 for a six pack (and the other flavours). I'll stock up and get it shipped to my house for free, this makes me a happy bargainer, thanks!

  • -4

Free delivery and pay 20% more for items compared to in store prices. Great bargain.

    • +7

Buy items on special, they're the same price

      • I only ever buy items on special. :-)

  • -1

Wow, delivery is normally $13?? Does anyone actually pay that? Is anyone so lazy that they can't go down to the store themselves to save $13?

    • some bulky.heavy items. especially the ones on special as usually out of stock in the shop….(save times/petrol..)

    • Normal delivery fees are on a sliding scale to zero for a $300 or greater spend.

    • So lazy? Thats a very rude and offensive statement to make.

disabled people are not lazy. working people (including parents) are not lazy and those without cars are not lazy. $13 for delivery of a whole lot of groceries is cheap. in perspective Postage on single items can cost more than that and to hire a carer to do shopping for you and a driver or taxi costs a lot more.

If you think an hour of time is worth only $13 you need a better job. Don't call people who use services lazy. That driver has a job thanks to all the 'lazy' people in wheelchairs.

I agree with your indignation over MrZ's comment, but it does have to be said that while all of these recent online supermarket promos are at least in part about the two players competing with each other for marketshare, it also has alot to do with both trying to introduce busy people to the sheer convenience of home delivery.

Going way back, finding time to do a proper shop in a given week was getting more and more difficult for our household. Online, intermittently, has become something we just do now.

It just crossed my mind that if Woolies or Coles started delivering their hot roasted chickens (we prefer the Coles chook), we'd probably end up online supermarket shopping twice a week!

    • What a silly statement. You pay for delivery to avoid having to drive to the shops and spend an hour wandering the isles. Is thirteen dollars worth an hour of my time? It is when I earn $140/hour.

      • Agreed. Australia, whether you be shopping or otherwise, a particularly arduous 'isle' to wander.

  • +1

Don't ever be fooled by thinking Woolies are not making a profit even with free delivery lol.

The idea is that you are now shopping with them and they are still making a profit (even if it's a lower amount) because you are shopping there instead of somewhere else!

I just wish manufacturers and Coles and Woolies had coupons like USA. Their food is so much cheaper anyway and coupons make it incredibly cheap or free. They do it for a reason too - they want the shoppers to try their products and rebuy. Most people also impulse buy when they are in store so the stores make a profit on those purchases. I will never understand why Australians are happy to pay so much more for food (actually just about everything) than people do in other countries!

    • +2

We are not happy about paying high prices. Its not like we have a choice.

  • hey cheers, I got the emaiol too, but I noticed that I couldn't layer my codes. but I could use this one and one of my others ones :)
