  • Ordered. Let's see how we go… Dont hold much hope and don't really need it anyway.

  • +6

Just bought one. No idea why.

  • Ordered one, thanks OP.

  • Haha why not? Once they release the SDK hopefully we can stream anything with it :)

    • like what?

      • +1

        Firstly it will be porn.
And then anything else developers choose to develop for it.

      • Your own media files on your SD card for example.

  • +4

$10 AUD with the $5 credit from the last screw up. Hopefully after this screws up, I'll get another $5 credit and the original one back.

  • I've ordered one as well, time to see if its honoured or not

    • Order cancelled, I assume all the Chromecast's sold at the lower price were cancelled.

  • Fingers Crossed.

It is limited to 1 unit per person, so there is some faint hope that it could be a genuine special deal.

  • ordered one myself

  • Awesome. First thing I'll do is probably load PwnedCast on it. Note PwnCast will only work on a Chromecast that hasn't been setup yet.

  • Check this post before you order. Should be able to get it a bit cheaper and another free product.

  • ordered one thanks

  • Price raised to $18.31USD

    • And $24.97 now

    • Price raised to $18.31USD

So? 20-30 people probably got it at the lower price…..tuff, you missed out.

      • +6

Brick007123 had originally neg'd that deal, that's why I was less than conciliatory in my comment above. He's subsequently retracted it

  • +2

    Mine was 18.50 ordered anyway

What the.. I got charged he Paypal fee. How is that??

  • +1

Just missed it at $15, pretty sure it was that price before I added it to the cart

    Ordered one at $18 anyway

    • +3

+1 Got one for $18.31. Not sure I even need one but grabbed it anyway… Damn Ozbargain!

      • +1

Now I have an excuse to figure out what all this Netflix business is about

        • +1

tunlr.net is the free version of unblock-us.com it hasn't let me down, except when I had a dynamic IP I had to reauthenticate whenever I had to turn off my modem.

    • +10

      Stupid neg.

  • Went from $18.31 to $18.50 during checkout… now at $24.97…

  • Now $24.97, Damn was searching on fishpond for something to get with it to use this deal.
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/125964

  • $24.97 now? What gives, it gets more expensive as more people buy it?

    • +4

      I neg your neg.

    • +7

      Down voted, your poor comment.

  • Showing up as $25.16 in my trolley

  • price is climbing wtf!

  • Price raised to $24.97… still below US RRP so still a good deal?

  • +1

    price raised again to 24.97!

  • +3

    this website is smart

  • -7

this look like a scam to me.

sell a few cheap ones then jack the price up

    • +1

I'm fairly sure that's automated with sites like fishpond?

    • -1

Scam? Pathetic. Its a sales tactic to get the site hits no different than giving unique discount coupons.

    • +5

Do you down vote every deal you miss out on? You'd end up neg'ing 80% of the listing on this site.

  • Original deal expired….

Ordered one at the original price.

  • +2

Still a good deal at $25, no need to downvote….

  • Its supposed to climb. Its the system they use, every so many sales the price climbs on cheap ass stuff.

  • +2

In the time it took me to add something to my cart to get $10 off, the price went up $10 :S.

  • Now it says:

    Elsewhere $69.99 $36.53 Save $33.46 (48%)

  • +2

No need to down vote, just because you missed out. If you find the deal has changed, report it as expired…..

  • Dam it too late price jumped up to 33 bucks

  • +1

Bought one - $18.71 delivered when combined with some random kitchen thing and code "kitchen23".

  • +5

These kind of sales tactics makes fishpond look bad.

It creates a negative vibe around the brand.

Short term win for a long term loss.

    • +2

Yeah, selling an item very cheaply at limited stock is a bad bad thing. They should be ashamed of their greedyness that they showed because they never got a $40 item even cheaper than they wanted…

  • -5

price changing fast in cart and $33.46 after logging-in.

  • +1

31.75$ now..OP pls change the price or mark expired..

  • Unavailable now

  • ANNNNDDDDD sold out :)

  • Out of Stock. Updated post.

  • Managed to pick one up for $18! NICE!

  • Does anyone receive a confirmation of paying? I check my fishpond said it's processing.

    • +1

      Got it from paypal

    • +3

My order from the 25th of November for this same item is still processing…

Money was happily received by Fishpond of course.

      • Exactly same here "pending" I've sent an enquiry on fishponds site , hopefully they answer soon.
I don't everyone else's chances with this deal.

        • this was the outcome for enquiry..
Thank you for your enquiry and order at Fishpond.com.au

        • Sounds like a generic email tbh.

      • Today's deal is good news for those of us who ordered and paid on the 25th. It means that their "sourcing" problem seems to have been overcome.

  • +5

Nobody complained last week when Fishpond was selling them at $39.97 delivered.
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/124104

    It's called a Loss Leader
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loss_leader
    Lots of companies do it.

Well done to those who got a deal.

    • +4

      It's called dodgy business practices.
Have purchased a few things from fishpond which they never supplied.

      • No, that is called a Bait and Switch
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bait-and-switch

If people don't get the products they ordered then they should be going to the ACCC.
Why do you think The Good Guys are bending over backwards to fix the $10 game order stuff up.

  • +4

Wow, that was quick. Damn sleep ins.

  • Man in us and I got 4 on bf day…. Currently in best buy and now $35us here plus tax

  • -6

I wouldn't classify it as a 'deal' if its available for less than an hour, which was the case. Same as clearance stock of anything at a shop where only a select few can get in on the action…

    • +3

There seemed to be more than 10, site rules classify this as a deal. Deal with it (sorry, had to pun)

    • +2

I agree, insufficient. There's 11 bottles of 2L SOLO for $1.50 each on clearance at my local IGA, but i wouldn't waste time posting if its not going to be avaialble 1hr later or at other IGA's. Still, there's a handful of people whomanaged to enjoy this in the first 30 minutes and did well for themselves. Pitty most; or most after 10 cant enjoy it

    • +8
I wouldn't classify it as a 'deal' if its available for less than an hour

      Dumb comment.

Are you saying the OP should have contacted the seller, asked how much stock they had, then tried to calculate how long it would last for, and then only posted the deal if he could guarantee they would last 60 mins or more?

You snooze, you lose. Get over it.

  • +3

Ah, fishpond, those who've dealt with their shenanigans in the past know how this 'deal' will end up. good luck

    • tbh I've had 4/5 of these deals show up. The other wasn't cancelled but I couldn't be assed waiting on it (Killzone Merc which others got a week or two after I cancelled)

  • +1

I wonder what they invest people's money on for 6 months before they give it back to you? Am hoping this isn't the case for you guys this time.

  • Hilarious how some people on here have nothing better to do than browse the comments of a deal and neg valid/sound comments…

    • And same for those who have nothing better to do that whinge because they never got in on a limited stock deal.

      • oh the irony

    • Except your comment above wasn't valid or sound - it was stupid. How the heck was the OP supposed to know that the stock was only going to last for half an hour at the original price? Not to mention that it was still a good price all the way up until it was sold out. Nearly 4000 click-throughs to the item page suggests that quite a lot were sold and quite a lot of people got a deal.

  • +3

I don't need one, and donated $15 to charity instead. It is Christmas season after all…

    • -4

What kind of a PoS negs someone for posting that? ^

  • I see these end up on ebay….. :/ wait no one will get one anyway lol…

  • Anyone know how these compare to an iPush?

  • +1

did anyone grab an extra, I missed out :(

  • +1

Sounds too good to be true , considering its sold from Google for US$35
Which truck did they knock it off ?

Scam to get people to sign up to the website ??

  • Did anyone else read it as Dreamcast?

    • .

    • It was the most ridiculous excuse ever to cancel a customer's order.
If they can't source stock, how can they explain the huge discount they implemented when they didnt even have stock.

      Classic.

    • disappointing but what can we do. would be interested to know if anyone on here got one

  • my order was cancelled too

  • Mine just got cancelled too. Last (and first) time I shop at that site.

    • Same. I normally don't have the balls to say this. But for Fishpond, I think I can live without them.

  • I would love to know if the orders made at the higher price eg > $30 were honoured or not. Low stock didn't seem to be an issue at the time I made the order.

    • Mine was canceled as well

My thoughts exactly Pomchu… I love how they dont even have the decency to write a new email, and send us some generic "book OOS" email…

      Didn't even get a $5 voucher!

  • Mine got canceled as well. Is there anyone who hasn't got a cancelation email?
