EDIT:
For people who haven't used Spotify premium before (like me)
https://www.spotify.com/au/freetrial/
It seems they give first month as free trial so effectively you get two months free with this deal.
Enjoy

  • And what is the pricing for Spotify Premium?

    • +1

      $11.99 exactly

    • Coincidentally, $11.99/month.

I guess the big upside would be having use of Spotify on a mobile device. Perhaps useful for summer activities (beach, pool, bbq etc).

  • +3

    Awesome, thanks!
Already a spotify premium subscriber so this will give me a free month.

Its $11.99 per month for those wondering so this will cover exactly 1 month.

  • Finally! Something I can actually register for and use. Thanks heaps OP.

I've been using Spotify for a while now and it's great. Syncing between all your devices is great and a lot of the new TV's and AV receivers are getting this built in as well. The positive for me is that they actually pay royalties to the musicians for having their songs played - it's not much of course but it's a positive step.

I wish I had an AMEX card so I could use this deal, but good find OP.

  • "you can even download songs to listen offline" - can we keep those songs forever or they expire with the subscription? I haven't used this service before, so dont know.

    • They will expire. Think of leasing a car. If you stop your lease payments, so does your access to the car.

Unless you grind off the VIN number and rebirth the car…..

Thanks for the reply. Then I think it's not for me. too expensive after free sub is over.

  • Great offer, I'm on the last day of my 30 day free subscription trial, and now another month free. Spotify is very good, whilst I narrowly prefer Google Music which also offers a 30 days free trial they are pretty much interchangeable. For someone who hasn't used before there is the opportunity to get 3 months free music here with Spotify and Google Music free trials + this offer.

    • I've used Spotify for over a year, and the Google Music app is nicer on Android but Spotify wins out with music selection for me.

  • +5

Whoever says this is too expensive is probably pirating their music. Ive had spotify for about a year and its the best subscription I've ever purchased. Show some love to the arists you dirty pirates :P

How much do you think an artist gets per 100 listens on Spotify?

Bandcamp only takes about 15% from sales, beatport takes like 70% and iTunes even worse.

Buy direct from artists websites if you can! <3

  • This is going to extend by 60 day free trial to 90 days. I love spotify. Thanks OP!

    • How do you get the 60 day free trial?

      • +1

I don't think getting a 60 day trial starting now would work, because it would take the billing date for your first paid month past Feb 9th (which is the Amex cut off).

  • you can also use www.spotify.com/samsung

    Spotify is good..

.. when it's not hammering your upload.

    • +1

How would it be hammering your upload?

      • Because it's mostly a p2p network?

        • Goddamn, that explains the lag sometimes whilst playing online and streaming Spotify.

I learn something new everyday, thanks.

        • Damn had no idea they did that.

  • They just announced Spotify for mobile is free and no longer requires a Premium account. Great timing lol

    • Hmm… might be able to cancel my subscription and save $12 a month, awesome.
I'm sure there will be a way to block ads on the Android version, somehow.

Wait, shuffle mode only on mobile?
      What the.

  • Thanks again. I accepted this on the AMEX iPhone App :)
