Hi guys,

Was just checking out PChome to see if there's anything I can buy from home, and noticed that the InFocus IN810 is on sale.
The phone has 3G: UMTS 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz, so can be used on all the networks here in Aus.
Also it has LTE, both FD-LTE and TD-LTE, which means it can be used on Telstra, Optus and Voda's FD-LTE 1800, also Optus' 4G+ (TD-LTE 2300, especially for those of you in Canberra)

basically means it is going to work on all the networks here - 2G, 3G and 4G

On sale till Taiwan time 10 o'clock, that is 1 o'clock here in Sydney.

    interesting specs….

  • Any Taiwanese here? How trustworthy are these guys?

I wonder what the Bluetooth spec for this is, since BT4.0 is the only bluetooth revision that supports the Low Energy protocol for smartwatches and fitness tracking devices.

  • I'd really like to try this and see what it can do. I wonder how much support they have for this phone.

  • if you use google translator check the left where its says super smart phones…… it says this "★ I kill most of the day!!! " what does the original chinese say I wonder….

    • Today's bargain

    • "★ I kill most of the day!!! " Google translator. It made me laugh.

It actually means "Deal of the Day" in proper English.

  • InFocus was the leading brand for LCD Projector in 90s.

According to Google the company is privately owned American company therefore the website is http://www.infocus.com/

However I can not find any mobile phone products on the website. Is this phone made by the same company?

    • It's definitely the same company. I have several of their projectors and the logo is the same. I was surprised they had expanded into mobile phones. Maybe they bought a smaller phone manufacturer and rebadge them

      • Nah Foxconn bought Infocus and use the brand to make the phones themselves.

Foxconn is targetting cheap large LED TVs and high specs Mobiles market in Taiwan at the moment.

        • That's correct. 鴻海品牌 means Hon Hai brand (word by word translation). InFocus is definitely owned by Foxconn

  • A bit more information. InFocus is owned by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd, better known as Foxconn, the company that manufactures Ipads, Iphones, etc. The phone uses a 5" 1080p Sharp screen.

  • 2200Mah battery last long enough though?

      not been oz bargained yet….

    • Me no read Chinese. Please tell meaning. Thank you.

      • Google Translate while it's free :)

  • The phone looks so much like a Nexus phone

  • Your better off with the Lg Optimus G Pro. Same cpu, bigger screen and battery for $379. https://m.kogan.com/au/search/?keywords=optimus%20g%20pro
    Just wait for free shipping.

    • Not a bad price for that phone, but no good for Telstra 3G and Optus 4G+ users
      3G Network (MHz): 900 / 2100
      4G Network (MHz): 1800 / 2600

      • It's also a bigger screen

      • According to gsm arena: 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100 - E988
        LTE 1800 / 2600 - E988

        • I believe Kogan actually sources their phones from Hong Kong
          http://www.lg.com/hk_en/mobile-phones/lg-E988
The 3G of the HK version doesn't come with 850MHz

        • Also under a hidden service menu i see all the 3g networks even 800

        • Well i see it in my band list on service menu under modem settings. It has wcdma 800 850 900 aws 1900 and 2100

For those curious in phone dial you enter 3845#*988# and that brings lg service menu which can configure hidden settings.

    • $379 + $22.99 postage = $401.99

    • Except that won't work on Telstra 3G

Compatible Networks: Optus 4G, Optus 3G, Telstra 4G

      'cos of no 3G 850mhz

  • Seem great, except it's all in Chinese so I don't really know how to buy it. If the interface is also in Chinese, then we're stuffed.

  • Looks good for the price. Thinking of taking the plunge. Am I being stupid?

Also I'm getting a price of $8200 TWD, which equates to about $310 AUD using 28 degrees. Not sure how original poster got $323…

If you have a non-smart/low end smart/iCrap phone, go for it.

If you already have a capable phone like the S3/4, Note I/II/III, Optimus II etc, its a waste of money.

      • Would be looking to replace a S2.

        • +3

I have a S2 and bought a cheap ($150) quad core Chinese phone to replace it. The biggest disadvantage of these Chinese phones is the near zero chance of receiving OS updates/fixes and also near zero chance of custom firmwares. My particular model has broken widget support, which for the aforementioned reasons will never be resolved.

So whilst I really like the hardware of my Chinese phone (better camera, better/bigger screen, better battery life etc), it's going to be stuck on Android 4.2 whilst my S2 already is on a very slick Android 4.4 due to it being a mainstream/popular phone.

Personally, this disadvantage doesn't affect me much as I tend to buy a new phone each year. One of the benefits of buying cheap is you get to buy it twice.

        • Thanks. But interesting because my S2 is only up to 4.1.2, which it says is the latest version.

        • +2

Custom firmware as made by the community rather than the manufacturer (Samsung). 150% of the time it is better than what the OEMs put on the device and without all the extra crap the OEMs & carriers include. Officially I believe the S2 will receive no more updates.

    • Its showing 7900 for me

      EDIT: $10 USD shipping

      • Plus $300 TWD shipping.

        • OP might have bought it without 28 degrees card and was charged a higher price o:

    • PayPal exchange rate is 1AU:25.XXTW, so $8200 is about $323.

I reckon it's good to replace an S2, especially with the price as low as a China phone.

if you don't need 4G the lenovo p780 is a great buy at $250ish. quad core, 300+dpi and a whopping 4000mah battery with dual sim option

  • Anyone found Antutu on this ?

    • Should be around 25000

  • Price is now $365

  • Just got the phone today

    • and…? go on details…. :)

It's actually a lot better than I expected, and the screen is just unbelievably good, as good as my HTC One, and even brighter.
Can confirm that 4G, 3G and 2G work, I'm not sure if it's connected to the TD or FD version of 4G LTE though, as I live in an area that has both. (I use Optus)
the camera has a sony sensor, so it can't go too wrong.
the only thing that needs to be improved would be the volume on both the earpiece and speaker, I guess nothing really beats the htc One speakers at the moment…
and the stock UI is pretty ugly, I'm gonna find something else to replace it.

now I can happily sell my HTC one and wait for the next big thing… :D
hope 2014 phones are cool enough for me to buy

        • sounds great, thanks for the reply :)

      • yes the sensors purportedly inc look good, cool to see Gyro & Compass in-built. Also complete set of radios so Modem is mastered too. Dual SIM, 2GB…if FY14 see even more..alike with kk, these could go years. (Next: MTK; 6"+ Hi-Fi audio)

        • I own a nexus, but Taiwan and mainland Chinese phones are fun to muck around with and the specs on this make it perfect for a daily driver aswell :)
