eglobalcameras are offering 16GB wifi Ipad Air for $519 + $29 delivery. Good price.
Now then….
Officeworks are currently offering a 10% pricematch (rather than normal 5%) for items that are on school lists. Ipad air is on my daughters school list…(16GB wifi) and probably many others - Year 9 onwards.
They just pricematched eglobalcameras.com.au (cheapest on staticice = $519 + $29 shipping = $548, vs Officeworks in store price of $559, which is already the cheapest I could find for a store).
10% price beat guarantee taken off automatically at the till - I didn't have to show the schoolist, so I guess it should be the same for everyone.
Not sure if it would be valid with larger or cellular versions..I guess it would depend on whether they appear on a school list somewhere, which is probably unlikely..
Paid $493.20. (For a space grey).
Makes up for the near heatstroke whilst getting from car to shop and back… ;-)

Update: iPad 2 16gb is also on school lists, so if you can find a cheaper source than OW ($419), you should be able to get 10% off that too…

You need to go back to school.

I'm suprised they let you pricematch, since eGlobal is mostly grey market stock.

Suprising that eGlobal isn't listed on their blacklist retailers, since nowadays when you try to price match they need to check the retailer isn't on their list of retails which they have blacklisted for various reasons, most common being "Grey Stock"

    • Well, they match Kogan who also sell grey stock

      • on Jan 1 they changed their Price match policy and this included a list of stores which are known for grey importing.
These include MSY, Kogan, techbuy and Scroptec.

Has to be after. IPad is a chick magnet.

  • do you know if the asus t100 is on the school list?
all I get is ring binders and dividers when I put a school in the search on the officeworks website

Would like to know this too. Was going to pricematch with HN and pay with gift card/ing. Then claim gst.

I recon OP's OW receipt would be more helpful for us to PM at another OW store rather than pointing to eGlobal website. What do you think OP? Thanks in advance!

    • the receipt will have PM on it. you'll have less (read: no) chance of PMing a PM

      • at least we can tell them why other OW stores can price match but your store can't?

    • Don't think that would be useful. As the receipt will say "Pricematched from……."
I think they will still ask you for which store.

You cannot price match a price match.

I know Kogan is on officework's blacklist, however if my memory serves me well… It had a note like "Not all Grey, Check Stock from Supplier".

I only noticed they started using a blacklist around November 2013.

These deals should only be allowed when it is a genuine retailer (for price matching purposes) that OW will price match on every occasion. OP got lucky but that does not mean everyone else will.

    • I have got them to match Eglobal before on a Samsung tablet..but it's just luck of the draw.
