Bitdefender Family Pack $39.95 (-60%) (Unlimited PCs and Devices)

30

After missing this deal (because I'm a derp) I found this to be the next best price - but I have a LOT of devices to cover. PC & Tech Authority are doing a deal for Bitdefender Family Packs at 60% off, which includes unlimited PCs and devices for one year. As I'm the 'tech guy' in my family, this looks to be really handy to keep my whole family and their various devices protected. The pack can be activated in 3 Bitdefender accounts, but unlimited PCs.
The family pack comes with 'BitDefender Total Security 2014'. Not sure about which BitDefender it uses for Android or Mac though.

The deal ends at the end of the month.

Can one ozbargainer take one for the team and buy this, and then we can all install it? :p

    • Haha, I honestly would, but I'm unsure if the terms and conditions would allow it! $40 to make a lot of people happy would be something I'm willing to pay. As far as I'm aware though, it requires me to log into my Bitdefender account on every PC - that'll be a long road trip!

  • Can you buy this for a workplace?

    • Technically yes, morally no.

      • Is it illegal to do so? Because everyone price gouges the business guys for the same service as residential. Internet, phone, water charges, bank interest, even software it seems, everything costs more for business customers for an identical service.

Can you get into any legal trouble if you use something like this in the workplace?

        • I'm no lawyer, but I honestly doubt you could get into legal trouble. If they found out, they might suspend your account, but I don't know how they could possibly find out.

        • I'm sure you have to enter the address in the Bitdefender account and unless you lie it would be the workplace address which they could see. Also also the workplace identification registration details might show up on the IP address whois information.

    • It would be a breach of the T&C so Bitdefender could disable your license if they find out the T&C is being abused.

  • Quote "Bitdefender Family Pack is available from this store for $39.95 for a one year licence"

    only one year licence

He did mention that in the description already.

Whether this is a good deal or not depends on how many PCs you need to protect. If you run a lot of PCs at home, then it is a good deal. For most people it won't be.

The $10 Newegg deal is $5 a year, for one PC, and it's limited to one per customer. If you have 9 or more PCs, then this is better. However most of us don't have that many.

    • I have a large family with various devices, so even for one year this works out well for us.
      EDIT: Basically what lostn said.
