We only have 185g for $2 in Brisbane. Bought 20 to get the $10 voucher from flybuy deal. $1.50 each!

    • What flybuy deal :o

      • +1

        spend $40 get $10 voucher.

      • customer specific, only some flybuys members got it in the mail

The limit of 12 per customer sucks, I bought 30 of the 185g cans when they were half price last time.

    • Yeah I agree, 12 is too limited…

        • Why wait a minute?

    I reckon per transaction

  • Used to love sirena. Until I found out they are selfish. There is a reason they taste better. They continue to fish yellowfin tuna which have depleted and are unsustainable. The other main brands are all labeled yellowfin free.

    • +1

http://goodfishbadfish.com.au/?fish=yellowfin-tuna It is on Greenpeaces 'red list' but it is classed as sustainable and are also 'near threatened'.

      • It amazes me how some places list it as red/say no and yet it is thought to be sustainable by the Commonwealth report. I'm sticking with the red/say no

      • if that is true, I am relieved. I hope we can reverse the damage.

is it sustainable because all the main brands have stopped canning it? if they all continued, as Sirena has, would it be depleated?

The reason i prefer Sirena to all others so far, is that it's chunky pieces of whole fish, not just pulverised almost into a mince :/

I prefer the Woolworths Select Tuna Chunks in extra virgin olive oil to all others. Big chunks of tuna and the can is almost full. Available for $1 every second week or so.

John West I find are full of oil and water and the tuna seems half way down the can.
        Greenseas is not as good
Sirena I don't know, too expensive for the same thing.

        • woolworths use yellowfin. it is a superior tuna.

Used to love sirena. Until I found out they are selfish.

Venus is selfish too. It runs in the family…

    • Ah, jv Williams. I get it. Attention-wise selfish ;)

  • Limit 12 per customer.

    source? no limit online :)

    • The catalogue.

I had 20 when I went through with a heap of other stuff, the woman said we could only have 12. I looked at the queue and asked her did she want to serve me separately and slow the queue down or just put the lot through with our other stuff. She said "the limit is 12".
I said okay, no problems and bought the rest as a separate purchase, then enjoyed the raised eyebrows of the customers behind us when they realised what she was making me do.

  • Limit is 12 per purchase in store. Does that mean 12 for each flavor? Or in total 12 for all the different flavors? I noticed if you buy it from Coles online, you can add 12 for each flavor

      "the limit is 12"

      • Computer say no…

  • +2

    Did someone say shellfish?

  • +3

I wouldn't got that far and say 12.63 per Kilo as there is only 70g of fish in a can. It is about 17.10 per Kilo. Unless you count the water, oil,…. as fish

    • Just reading it off the catalogue mate. ;)

  • Best way to check how much bang ur getting for ur buck is to check the grams of protein per can…you will be surprised how much it varies by with various brands

  • Not on sale at my local Coles in Geelong VIC?

The limit at Greenacre Coles is 13. I had 12 on the counter and smiled nicely and said "soooo what if I wanted 13??"

    "13!!!!!?????? … I suppose that would be… ok?"

    ":D… what about 14????"

    "NO. harrumph!!"

    ":( I'll take the 12…"

Never buy ANY tuna from Coles. Coles refuse to stock Greenseas tuna, which is Australia's best-selling tuna brand (and best, IMO). Why? They obviously have deals going with the competitors. Disgraceful - sure they have the right to stock what they please, but shouldn't the customer have the widest choice possible? Imagine if they stopped stocking Coca-Cola and only sold Pepsi, for example.

  • Not available in store? Just checked at barkly sq, melbourne, and they scanned at original price 2.40 each. Cashier could not take it further even though I showed him online price with my phone

    • Mmmm must be NSW only…. Try getting the 185g cans for $2.

    • had the same issue in Melbourne, got the store manager to do it but was only allowed 6 cans :(
