HERE IS THE VALID LINK but it seems no longer offered?

    http://campaign.anz.com/bank-accounts/everyday/?a=1&cid=ps:t…

Access advantage? what's the catch or monthly fees n charges?

  • If you check, http://www.anz.com/personal/bank-accounts/everyday-accounts/…
There is following text right next to "Apply" button.
To get $100, open an ANZ Access Advantage account by 31 March 2014 and then deposit $2,000 and log on to ANZ goMoney™ or ANZ Internet Banking by 30 April 2014. Offer available to new ANZ everyday account customers only.

As far as, monthly fees, there is none, if you transfer $2000.

    • $100 will be deposited into the new ANZ Access Advantage account by 16 May 2014. The account must be open as at this date for the $100 payment to be made. ANZ can withdraw the offer at any time.

    • i'm not doubting you, this is all i see after clicking on the link. i'm trying to work out what i'm doing wrong http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/37385/21320/anz.png

    • +1

there 2 buttons of "apply online" from the page given by your link but could not see the bonus $100 when depositing $2000 bla bla

Did anyone see it? Or perhaps you should give special promotion/referral link?

      • +1

        Same here.

  • Could you deposit $2000 and withdraw it the next day or does it have to stay in the account until you get the $100 ?

    • Only condition posted on site is:
      • $100 will be deposited into the new ANZ Access Advantage account by 16 May 2014. The account must be open as at this date for the $100 payment to be made. ANZ can withdraw the offer at any time.

      • +4

but you'll need to deposit $2000 each month before then to avoid $5 monthly fee

        • It's only 1 month and the initial deposit covers that 1 month you need, so if you do the initial deposit in April, say April 25th, then transfer it back out to your bank account on April 26th, then you get the $100 bonus on May 16th or before, transfer that $100 out and close the account.

        • each? you sure? not just once?

        • Yeah

"No monthly account service fee if you deposit at least $2,000 a month2, or if you meet our other eligibility criteria3 (normally $5 a month)"

        • But what about the $5 monthly fee for March and May? You'd have to do the $2K deposit in March and then transfer it out and then again in April and again in May to avoid the $15 ($5 x 3 in monthly fees)

        • Cheers my friend. I think I will open in April then to avoid the hassle of putting money in and out to avoid the fee.

Edit. Oops just realized gotta do it in match for offer to stand

        • "Open an ANZ Access Advantage account by 31 March 2014 and then deposit $2,000 and log on to ANZ goMoney™ or ANZ Internet Banking by 30 April 2014"

          • You don't need to deposit until April.

          • In May you will get the $100 and close the account before the monthly fee comes at the end of the month.

        • Thanks hamza

    • +2

Yes, very curious to see if I could open an account for myself, my wife, and my two kids and just bounce the same $2000 around to get $400 for next to no effort.

      • +1

for your wife yes. check though as your kids accounts might be a type of trust account under their t&Cs, which is excluded from the promo.

        • +1

it says 12+ years old at the start of the application process

        • Great, thanks for that.

  • I can only see the 2nd apply now button for less than a second and then it disappears..

  • Thanks, opened.

It's on the main anz.com.au website page.

    • Thanks.

      • grrr, i want to record the complete sign up process but i'm stuffed if i can find a working banner

i think there is some geoip schenanigans going on because if i use tor it displays the banner ad "moving to australia?"

it seems only people in nsw can see the banner

        • I'm in NSW but I can't see the banner either.
There must be something sly going on.

        • There is no banner, the offer is on the main website on anz.com.au
          You can't miss it.
          I'm in NSW too.

        • +1

I wonder if it's an NSW promotion? Can't see anything in VIC, either on the main page or the linked page.

        • Same here. Absolutely nothing!

          I am in QLD.

  • can't see the offer anywhere

  • Cannot see the offer anywhere on ANZ website now.

  • hmm
i rung up anz to confirm the promo and the rep didnt know anything about it.
he said just take a screenshot of it and show to the action team if you apply and $100 doesnt come in later on so thats what i did.

strange that he couldnt see the banner as well going to the same URL as i did…

    Where is the offer??!!

I have spent 15 minutes scouring the ANZ site and trying all the links mentioned in the comments and I don't see anything anywhere about them paying you.

Can someone post a link as none of the ones mentioned above have worked for me.

If it's not available anymore, OP should mark as expired or risk getting negged ;)

  • I was just at the branch and they were giving out pamphlets with the $100 deal on it. I giggled as she was giving it to me and I said oh I just signed up an hr ago.

So I reckon this is ANZ wide for the month of March.

    • +1

they better not pull the offer early like CBA does…

    • +3

      scan and upload to ozbargain

    • Which state are you in Turd?

I think this offer is NOT national but rather aimed at specific states only.

      • I would imagine NSW since his location is "Syd"

        • +1

The offer is most likely only applicable to NSW & ACT:

Open an ANZ Access Advantage account between 1 March and 31 March 2014 using the apply button on this page, or at a NSW or ACT ANZ branch

        • That explains it.

OP should modify description to say that offer is available in NSW and ACT ONLY

        • I'm not in either of those two states. I just opened the link in the OP with firefox and none of the promotion information appears at all. So I opened the link on the ipad and all the information is now there. So I've submitted the form successfully. Fingers crossed!

      • So is this offer only limited to NSW and ACT only. I'm from WA, the ad shows up on their main page, and I can't see anywhere it the t&c that specifically says that only NSW and ACT are eligible. I already applied through their ad, rather than the ozbargain link. Hopefully it didn't go to waste.

    • Why did you giggle?

      • +2

        Portable laughing gas cylinder probably.

      • maybe delayed reaction after coming from the loo.

  • +1

So, that's where they're taking the 0.2% bonus interest from online savers. It decreased from 1.6% to now 1.4%. Way to treat their existing customers.

    • +2

Loyalty does NOT pay . Time to get over it ;)

      • I know. I was just making a point.

It used to be 1.75% over a year ago. But the difference isn't big enough to warrant the hassle of switching between different banks. 3.9% vs 4.X% I'll stick with the convenience for now, if it gets any lower, I'll have more incentive to invest in stocks.

On a side note, banks could reward their active loyal customers to get more money for their bucks. These one-off baits won't lure in long-term customers.

        • But the difference isn't big enough to warrant the hassle of switching between

No hassle mate. The government introduced reforms in July 2012 that making switching banks easy as. No hassle and no cost (and no excuses..;) ).

        • Read my comment below for what I meant by hassle.

  • +2

good offer, but i would never go to anz.
had a few bad experience with their customer service.
once i went to a branch with my mate and he wants to take out 2k, and the teller asked 'why would you want so much cash', my friend said 'why do i need to tell you', and teller replied 'oh, you dont even trust your bank', then it took them 20 minutes to bring the cash.
their internet banking also looks out of date and not very user-friendly comparing to CBA and NAB (never had westpac).

    personal opinion only!

    • Well, I too made switches years ago to NAB and St George. Every time, I had to learn about their idiosyncrasies. I think all banks have their goods and bads. At least I know what to expect from ANZ. Familiarity is quite important, unless there are deal breakers. With ANZ, I know for sure I can renew my online saver to get the bonus interest. With other banks, I can't say that (I remember how I couldn't do something as simple as that at St George). That's exactly why I have stopped shopping for banks these days.

    • +2

It was a sales tactic - i.e. they wanted you to say "oh I am buying a car" so in return they could offer you car insurance.

(I used to work in a bank)

      • the way they asked us is not intended to that, i think the teller was worried if my friend is going to other banks (actually he did). or instead the teller might mean 'why r u taking money from us', lol.
was really suprised by they way they deal with anz.
also heard CBA had bad customer service, but from my experience i just cannot get away from them.
i have never waited on the phone for more than 2 minutes!

  • +1

I've just tweeted ANZ to see if this is nationwide. I'm in VIC (Exetel) and CAN see this offer. My IP often gets placed in NSW though.

There is nothing in the eligibility criteria that states you need to be a resident of NSW or ACT. Though it is a bit odd with the geolocation issue and handling offline applications in branches in 2 states.

    • neil, did you get any response?

      • +2

        ANZ just responded:

Hi, this promotion is just for NSW and ACT.

Well there ya go. Not sure why they are only targeting those 2 states.

        • Thanks. May be they have small customer base in those two states compared to other states…

        • well damn, now I'm going to have to close the two accounts I just opened. :(

But maybe I should just deposit the money in there and then see before closing. It's probably not worth wasting my time.

  • Oh yeah.

  • It's seemingly selecting based on location. I used the ipad and seemed to work fine.

  • i cant see… at sydney cbd atm tried with crome ff and ie

    • Try privet mode , its worked for me

      • nope i press ctrl shift N on crome, gave me new window, copy pasted the link from OP, nada…

Wonder if I should be a true ozbargainer and open an account during my trip to Sydney in March.

    I live in QLD though.

    • anz don't like queenslanders

  • This is on front Page of mx newspapers so it's legit but not sure how to apply since I can't see on ANZ website

  • +1

so, confirm we can just deposit $2000 in march, take out next day, then another $2000 in April then take out the next day, watch 16 may for the $100 then close account without any fees?

    • I'd like to know if this is the case aswell.

    • I think so. Free money!

  • I am in NSW. is it safe to apply even if I dont see the promo? Is there a special promo page to apply from?

  • just my luck i closed my acct only last week

    • may not work for you…

The offer is only available to new or existing ANZ customers who did not have an ANZ everyday account as at 28 February 2014

  • Any way to get this in SA?

  • Got approved today, login got account name "Access Cheque Account". why is not "Access Advantage account" ?

Prolly the same thing. Marketing term is "Access Advantage account" but what it really is is a "Access Cheque Account"

  • I can't see the promotion on ANZ website. I am in NSW. Is anybody else still able to see it ?

  • Applied from my mobile. Pretty straightforward.
I gather the $100 does not have to be declared as taxable income…

  • Do you guys need to submit your ID documents via internet when submitting the application online? Cheers

    • +1

No ID submission during the online application.
I got an email this morning (applied yesterday) said my account had been open, but I need to go to the branch to do ID check before being able to withdraw any $$, also for ordering the Visa Debit card.

      • Thanks eleana !

        • You are welcome :)

  • anyone apply on the branch and is it easier than online?

  • Still can't see it! tried laptop and mobile. I am in SA. Can anyone upload a screenshot please.
