Pretty cool but I think I have the same base on my monitor from 2006. Without the base though this thing should be so light though you can sticky tape it to the wall

I was given a warm welcome.

  • WoW is this Harvey Normal ?!, soo many great deals lately…

    • +15

i have a HP and its well above the cheap crap companies like Acer Asus LG Samsung etc. as far as LCDs go

HP and Acer does not produce any LCD panels. This monitor you're looking may be HP branded, but the innards are made by another manufacturer.

Wow. Don't hog all the negs.

  • +3

    hmmm on 2nd thoughts:

    Manufacturers Express Warranty (months)12

is 1yr ok for an LCD?

    • 1st time i've seen a monitor with less than 3 years warranty.

      • Dell being doing this for some time, be honest most brand can last 3yrs, but if Dell, that's gamble.

    • 2 words, statutory warranty.

      • +3

        And another two, "good luck".

  • +5

Pics of the rear confirm no Vesa mounting, or mounting at all for that matter, only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger :(

    • theres also no audio out

      i'll pass on this one

      • +1

        No audio out…

        A terri-bad 72% color gamut…

A 3 ms (Gray to Gray) - Not 2ms like Harvey Norman claim…

        And only 12 months warranty…

What the hell are we so excited about?

        • Thanks, saved 100 bucks, very tempting to buy one, but not really need it :)

    • off course it wont have Vesa Mounting… unless you don't mind a base (where most of its electronics are enclosed in) sticking out while mounted?

i'll pass on this deal.. nice price though

      • +1

ohh what the heck… why not!!! just bought 2 :( I'm sure I can sell it to my uncle for a profit if i dont like it… i hope he's not part of ozbargain!!!!

    • Pics of the rear confirm no Vesa mounting,

off course it wont have Vesa Mounting… unless you don't mind a base (where most of its electronics are enclosed in) sticking out while mounted?

      Lol.

Of course it isn't VESA-compliant. It's 9.8mm thick. You may as well just Blu-Tack it to the wall.

  • Tempting! I don't mind the stand etc.

  • Is it actually possible to pick this up from a store or is delivery the only option?

    • I assume so if stock locally, none near me though.

    • +3

You can pick up at any store, just tell them which store you want to pick it from at checkout. I just paid for one and have it delivered to my local HN.

      • Thanks for the tip!

      • No, you can't pick up at any store. I elected to pick up from my local store. They had none, and claim that HN doesn't deliver to your local store as they have no central warehouse. I now have to wait while PayPal refunds my credit card. Not happy and won't bother buying online from HN again.

    Brilliant find theearth!

"Shipping is just $6.95 Australia wide."

No it isn't - I was quoted $9.95 (I'm out in the sticks).

  • Purchased one, store is out of stock so hopefully they fill my order :)

  • Hmm i don't really like the port placements at the back.. sure its thin because everything is in the base, but you can't utilize any additional space because of the ports plugging into the stand at the back.

  • Got 1

  • +1
    • Thanks, first review gave me a reason not to buy one

The power cord uses a standard plug and an inline transformer, so no wall-wart to deal with.

I have one with a power brick, it's a real pain to find a place for it :(

  • +3

Don't forget further $5 off code
$111 is a fantastic price with HDMI. Great find theearth.

  • +1

No stores have it for local pick up around melbourne 3000 or Northern Suburbs Preston/thomastown/coburg.

Anyone know how long back ordering usually takes?

  • +1

Bought one for the mrs, thanks Op. Last monitor I bought was the whirlpool Dell 2405 group buy back in 2005 ($1300). How times have changed :)

Only store stock available in Queensland is 101 Queen Street, Ayr, QLD 4807Tel: 07 4783 3188

      • +2

Nice job theearth, change it to $111
        Thats a crazy bargain
I mean who cares if the ports are in the butt or its shiny, my current monitor is shiny too!!
remember to use a new email, clean cookies first or use another pc or phone and wait for 5 minutes
        Thanks

  • Well i just bought one, don't really know how long the back order will take but for $111 who cares lol.

I don't even need another monitor but how can one resist at that price lol.

    Cheers op

  • cant add it to cart any more. Ozbargained?

ETA: apparently so. Ah well, I dillied and dallied, and now it is gone.

  • Out of stock, can't add to cart?

  • Do you think HN will honor this?
I guess HN is going to send emails and say sorry they do not have enough stock!!

    • +1

Looks like you jinxed it buddy :P

      Just joking

  • Damn, just as I got my $5 code… had it in my cart then it was marked out of stock… that'll teach me for trying to save a few extra $.

  • It's apparently in stock in Darwin, if any Darwinites are reading.

    • +1

Probably available somewhere in Uluru lol

  • Anybody wishing to sell it for 125$ in Sydney, pls pm me :)

Just got an email saying mine will be delayed.

Edit: When i received the "Backordered" email, I got on their website live chat, and spoke to a guy about when it'll be available. He tells me 7-10 days, and I discuss the possibility of changing my delivery to a pickup. Before that's even been processed, I receive a call saying my order's been cancelled. Completely shoddy business practices.

    • Careful… Gerry might deem you a "professional".

  • +2

Just got call from HN, saying mine will be cancelled and refund. Never gonna trust HN again, this is second time since 2012 boxing day.

  • +1

I have a feeling mine will be cancelled as well as it was listed as no stock in WA( on backorder) ahh **** you Gerry.

  • +1

Yeah I got a call from a guy who said that my order has been cancelled and that I should email Harvey Norman asking for a refund. What sort of business practise is that?

  • I got a call saying that they only had an ex demo model in the store that had been allocated to fulfil my order. Asked if they could supply a new one from their warehouse - they don't have one. Asked for a discount on the ex demo model, and had the benefit of overhearing the sales person saying to a colleague "… wants it cheaper or some shit …".

They came back to me on the phone later, no discount for ex-demo, I can get a refund if I want, so I said I'll take the ex demo one. Let's see what it looks like when it arrives.

    • wow..what an attitude !!!

  • Damn it, I hate paying for something with PayPal when I have to get a refund. Always a PITA getting the funds back into my bank account.

Should have known this deal was too good to be true. Although I'm yet to get an email or call saying my order is cancelled. Touch wood!

  • mine cancelled too without any reason
very rude, did not give a reason or replacement or any offer
must run a campaign and go to trading affairs, they can't just cancel a purchase.

  • What time did you guys order? My order time was 9:30PM last night and I've opted for pickup from Ballarat. No cancellation yet.

  • I suspected when i placed my order this would be an issue where there would be mass amounts of orders that would later on be cancelled, i placed my order with this in mind so i don't have any expectations lol.

Just fyi i haven't heard anything regarding my order yet, looking to pick up from Thomastown.

  • NOw..the item no longer exists : "Sorry, we couldn’t find the page you’re looking for. It may have been removed or no longer exists"

  • +3

Reading peoples' comments, looks like this is either a way for HN to get back at OzB, or they have a shoddy ordering system.

  • Received the call this morning, and was told because it was a clearance item, they ran out of stock and will not be able to source,
I was given the option to use the funds to order something else or cancel the order.

    • At least they won the Global Reviews Digital Customer Experience for Ecommerce award!!!!!

  • I ordered mine at 11pm but I haven't received a cancellation notice yet.

  • So i just did the 'live chat' on their website and they said that they have yet to cancel my order as they are still checking 'sources' to see if they are able to forefill my order and they expect to know by mid nek week.

So yeah, this pretty much expected when i placed my order so not really annoyed.

  • My pick up order can't be filled. They are offering an alternative LG 23 slim LED for the same $116 - currently $212…any opinions..?

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/computers-tablets/computers/m…

    • Hey mate, can I PM you on this?
I'm trying to get HN to offer me the same deal but they said they need proof that the LG Monitors were offered to someone else

      • Sorry haven't been here for while.

I have no proof of that conversation but just noticed an email from HN that lists three product codes to choose from - haven't looked into them yet.

PM me if you like - i'll post back here as well

        Edit

These are the three choices I've been offered via email

        1. LS23X350HS/XY
        2. LS24C370HS
        3. 23EN43V-B
        • Hey mate, thanks again, just PM-ed you

      • which one better? Samsung or LG ? I prefer Samsung but it doesn't have a DVI

        • Just a heads up that these aren't IPS panels as the HP but TNs with RRP being a lot less than the HP.

  • I got a call from Martin Place store and was told they have none to send out. Getting order refunded.

  • I spoke to HN online. They mentioned that there are 3 alternatives:

    LG 23EN43V-B,
    Samsung LS24C370HS, and
    Samsung LS23C350HS/XY.

    take your pick.

    • Which one better ? Should I choose one of these 3 option or better to get refund ?
Anyone got this hp x2301 ?

  • they offered me a LG 24 slim led which I think is better than these three
even though they are all the same
but I think glassy screen is annoying a bit
    dvi port is better
and wall mount is just an option
none of them had any significant advantage like usb hub or speaker or better resolution or anything but for $111 still good if you need a 24 FHD monitor

  • Each store is going through the list of orders and offering alternatives. It's first in first served basis based on your order date/time. Earlier orders may be offered additional choices (if stock is limited) which is fair enough. I got the Samsung LS24C370HS which I'm pretty happy with.

  • got mine delivered today. on paper only 1" larger than the 22" benq I have, but somehow it look so much bigger. happy so far.

    thanks OP

    • which one they sent you?

      • They sent me the hp one in the deal. To be honest, i was quite surprised as i was expecting them to call and either cancel it or give me a refund. So when it got delivered i was pretty happy.

I've been using it for the past 24hrs and it's been great. The monitor looked very high quality and elegance.

        Cheers

    • @Amateur
      Happy for you
      I was offered LG 23” SLIM LED (23EN43V) .
      Have a nice day

      • Also offered LG 23” SLIM LED (23EN43V) normal price on the sticker they had was $230 :)

Also FHD - seems to be a pretty equivalent trade.

This was at HN Carindale in QLD :)

  • No response for Harvey even emailed their customer support. I want a refund or a reasonable alternative option.

  • got a call telling me that the product was discontinued and was only offered the LS23C350HS as a replacement.

went into the maribyrnong branch to see if I could get the LS24C370HS.

no dice. store clerk offered to do the deal only if I paid an additional $80.

asked for a refund and I was told they don't process refunds for online orders without the clerk even giving me a number to call. had to find that myself.

talked to the guy on the other end and was told I was supposed to be given the 3 options above but the in store clerk straight up refused.

ended up getting a refund. would not like to deal with hn maribyrnong again.

  • Are the stores franchised? I got the impression that the 'online business' is different from the stores. e.g I noticed on the paperwork that the actual store I picked up from (Nth Ryde) was charging the online business the full amount for the Samsung ($240), even though I only paid $116.

Which makes the Maribyrnong clerk's actions a little strange, asking for an extra $80 when they have stock and other stores are offering it for the same price. And the fact that they'll get their $$ from the online store anyway. He probably doesn't know how the system works.

  • Still waiting, no emails or phone calls yet. No news is good news I guess, but no one here has said they actually got the HP monitor so I'm wondering if they even had stock to begin with…

    • Call the store. That's what I did. Or just Live Chat if you opted for delivery.

Someone (above) did the get the HP but it's safe to say you won't.

  • I was first offered the LG 23EN43V as a replacement but with no HDMI I declined. They replied with the Samsung LS24C370HS as a replacement which I accepted.

    Samsung S23C350H LED

I got offered this, I do not know about monitors..anyone know if it is any good. Yes I have looked at google but can't really discern fake from real reviews.

    • I also got offered the same, should i take it or get refund?

    • Anyone??

  • Just checked this thread to see all the issues with stock. Did live chat and apparently my "local" store in Coburg has no stock, so they are now looking for other stock interstate. Another 7 to 10 days. I wonder how long my order would have sat there pending without any interaction from me.

  • +1

One whole week I left it, heard nothing. I live chatted yesterday which escalated to a phone call from my local store. Offered a full cash refund. I said I'll take it. Today I still haven't received my money back, opened a PayPal dispute, got an email saying the refund is in progress seconds after doing this.

Noticed this on the refund invoice: Adjustment Fee $1.14

So much for full refund, I wonder how many of us missed out and their going to sting us $1.14 for nothing in return. Easy money I guess.

  • So delivered by APD without any information about when it will be arriving, may have to pay for another delivery fee. I rang them up saying I wasn't traveling 40km to pick it up and that it would have been nice to be informed when it would be arriving etc. Will see what they do about it.

  • Well, 24/3 and still no sign of the monitor. I've requested cancellation as the customer service couldn't give me any ETA.

  • 4 days since my phone call asking for an email and still no email. Not impressed.

  • I still haven't received any response from customer service. They are supposed to answer within 24 hours.

Went to Paypal and filed a dispute. They then immediately sent an email confirming refund however they are not refunding the full amount. Just like Ingram above, they want to take a $1.14 adjustment charge. For what? I'm not closing my dispute until I get a full refund.

  • I spent 20 minutes talking online explaining my situation and then they wanted me to call someone again. I said yes I will be filing a formal complaint if they dont get in contact with me as asked. Why should I chase them again 3 emails, a call to customer service, no promises kept and a 20 minute chat online. Total BS.
