        Harsh, but fair enough

      • -2

It is harsh, if it wasn't for chuckwows post, aaronbaron wouldn't have realised the code and not posted the other great deal. I'm sure OB will notice the other deal on the front page anyhow.

        • -1

Yes, I appreciate chuckwow's post and realise that aaronbaron wouldn't have found the better deal if it wasn't for this post.

          So thanks very much chuckwow!!!

I thought I would give a +1 as a comment to chuckwow but a neg to the post so people look down the page to find out why.

Hopefully everyone is smart enough to see the other post on front page anyway.

        • +3

I know, just saying its harsh, but I agree, it's fair. But now considering the other deals finished this one seems decent.

        • +3

The other one has expired. So this deal is now the best one available. I think you should consider revoking your neg.

        • +2

Time to remove the neg, since new deal is expired now :)

      • +1

it doesn't work for me.. firefox/ie/chrome.. wont let me order

      • +3

yeah too harsh.. still a good deal. I negged the neg! :)

      • +2

Definitely a tough crowd to please but I must admit, I did miss that excellent deal.

Lets just hope everyone got some batteries and chargers they didn't need.

        • +2

Hats off to you chuck, thanks for starting the craze!!

    • Motherf****r, that's what I bought but for $50….

  • Hold your horses guys!

What is the capacity of these batteries in Milliamp Hours (mAh)?

No mention in the specs! :(

So maybe a good deal but maybe not without knowing this information!

Anyone know the actual capacity of these batteries?

    • You must be new to Eneloops. :)

      They're 2,000mAh.

  • all I get is this now

Sorry, no quotes are available for this order at this time.

  • Everytime I add it to the cart it disappears :(

plus you can't open the actual page of either deals, but they show up in a search …

  • +2

just got the order, half of it is missing, only 8x in the envelope…calling them now :(
The guy on the phone, when I told him I want to make a complaint about an order, he immediately asked me if it's about missing batteries…He practically said there is a big f@ckup with the eneloop promotion and they don't know if they will be able to fulfill every order. when I asked politely what my options are he offered to send me a $40 gift card so I can go and purchase the missing pack in-store !!!!
The funny thing is that I purchased this deal with a $20 gift card they sent me as a compensation from a previous f@ckup. Now, if I can make this loophole work again, on the next stuffup they will offer a $80 gift card etc….

    • Was just coming online to check if people had this problem… I only got one pack today! :(

  • Gregfiona - did you call the 1300 number for online sales or a local store?

Same here only got one pack of 8
I'm calling now to Mabo claim my $40 gift card

Update - spoke to a English as second language lady she told me someone would email me within 48 hours
When I asked 'about my options' she told me I could go into a store and see the manager about my missing batteries
This is lame since I paid for postage

    • i called the 1300 no, don't think a local store manager will be able to help you since you have ordered online with home delivery

I just received this email from my order last week.

    Good Afternoon Valued Customer,
Thank you for shopping with dicksmith.com.au
Due to the overwhelming response to our recent Eneloop Charger & 16x AA Batteries Promotion we have experienced slight delays in shipping your order.
Unfortunately due to stock limitations we are no longer able to offer the 16 x AA "Rouge" Batteries. However we are excited to be able to offer 2 packs of the new limited edition Tropical Batteries as replacement.
We would like to advise that all orders will dispatched from the 17th of March 2014. If this offer is unsuitable; please contact our friendly customer service team on 1300 366 644 to cancel your order.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience in this matter.
    Kind Regards,
    The Dick Smith Team

    • I received the same email. Does anyone know if there's any difference between the Rouge and the Tropical?

      • Colour?

  • So, I got 8 today also.
Called, was told the 8 I was missing is because they ran out of stock but I should patiently wait 2-3 weeks to get them or i can cancel my orders.
Why do I keep buying from these twits?
I swear unless the next DS deal is a freebie, I will not buy from DS again.

  • Had my Rouge batteries delivered today, only received 1x 8 pack. Rang the 1300 number on their website but got an answering machine. Will wait and see what they say if/when they call back.

I'm really hoping they honour their original deal because I paid around $45 for my 8 pack, which is kind of expensive. The coupon expired by the time I saw the deal (but description still had bonus 8 pack offer), doh!

    • Update:
Got a call back from DS.

Lady on the phone was adamant at first that my order was for just 1x 8 pack. I insisted that was not what was stated on the website. She then put me on hold and when she came back she said there was a mistake with my order and that I should have been charged 19.99 rather than 39.99. So in compensation she will send me an extra pack of Tropical eneloops, which will arrive in 2-3 business days.

Not quite the explanation I was expecting, but I'm happy either way. Glad I did call though because clearly they couldn't see anything wrong with my order until I pointed it out to them. Also may have to consider taking pictures of good deals next time in case something like this happens again.

      • +1

By the way, my order confirmation email stated 8 + bonus 8 batteries while the invoice had only 8. Yours may be the same if you needed the proof that you ordered 16.

        • Thanks for that tip. Ah, I think I know why the DSE lady was confused now — there's no bonus pack on my order acknowledgement or invoice. I'm in slightly different boat to most users here, this deal was posted on Sat and the 30% off code was only valid on Sat, but I actually bought the batteries on Sunday. It looks like the system that generates order acknowledgements removed the bonus pack after Saturday, but the website description of the 2 for 1 offer remained up!! This is all just a huge mess by the looks of things.

  • Same here. Rang them up, they will send the remaining 8 batteries next week. Tropical instead Rouge.

And I was told it was a big stuffup with these orders.

    • +1

      Update, received email:
…In regards to your inquiry, please be informed that unfortunately we could not deliver the 16 bonus rouge batteries as the stock is not available. We will instead be supplying the "tropical coloured" batteries ($49.99) to your shipping address….

      1. Interesting that the tropical batteries are $50… I thought that the standard DSE price on Eneloops was $40.
      2. "could not deliver 16 bonus batteries" - the order was 8 + bonus 8… Hopefully they will deliver extra 16 instead of 8 :-)
      • And another update, the remaining 8 batteries got delivered today. Tropical colours. I am missing the sparkly pink :-)
