Hi everyone,

Last time we promoted our 24 AWG cables:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/127218
A few people complained that they are pretty much the same as the 26 AWG one and the cable looks thinner.

Honestly, we are paying more to upgrade the quality. However, buyer is always right.

So ozbargain fans,
Here we sell the 24 AWG cables as the 26 AWG (at the 26 AWG price)

Nice 1 rep. People bought the tab 3 from TGG deal now can get a case here.

    • are these leather cases?

      Rep,
do you have leather cases in stock?

  • +8

I can vouch for yhe quality of these cables. Some of the best I have ever used.

    • +1

      Theyre good and cheap

Ive scoured the net for cheap high current cables that deliver to australia and these are the cheapest for the length and Amperage

However ive spent $60 the past month buying cables from about 12 different sellers to test the various cables

Ive found better ones with a ferrite core (much thicker) and charge at a higher rate

These tikbro ones are kind between shitty $1 1A cables and $20 2A cables
They dont really charge at full 2A. But that could be because i was using a 26awg

I might buy one of these 24awg which should surely charge at 2A

WHY DIDNT YOU DO THIS SALE LAST WEEK! couldve saved me $60!

The main point is, its super cheap for something that is able to charge a windows 8 tablet which requires a higher current. WHich is amazing

Rep, for clarification, do these cable still sync? or have all 4 pins been taken up for power?

    • Except the 3m I ordered…

  • +1

How do you make an offer on the AUX cables? There's no option to do that.

    • sorry. problem fixed. you can bid now

  • +4

Can someone who has used the powerbank provide some feedback on its quality/mAh

  • Sorry for being ignorant, but is this the cable for Samsung Galaxy S4 devices?

    • -1

If i'm not mistaken, the S4 uses USB 3.0 cables… so these cables will work with it (for charging only i think) but not the other way around (S4 cables will not work on S3 and below)

EDIT haha ops, i just checked and yeah the S4 uses usb 2 my bad =P

    • Yes, this is good for s4.

    • +1

The samsung galaxy s4 is using micro usb 2.0. This is exactly the cable for the s4.

  • Hey there rep, any chance you'll include the 3m ones?

    • You have my vote…

      inb4 my axe comments

        and my bow

  • Hi,

Just wondering in regards to the USB cables. Will they charge my device (normally)? i.e not super slow.

    Thanks

    • +3

Thats the point of the 2A output possible. These are high quality cables with extremely minimal loss. If your input to the cable is 2A, you will get 2A out and it will charge quite fast (depending on what device obviously). If your input to the cable ie your wall usb plug only puts out 500mah though they will still charge slow.

      • +1

        Thanks buddy.

  • +2

Brought a few last time, EXCELLENT QUALITY.

  • +3

Thanks rep, got the aux and a micro usb cable. Already got one of your cables and it's the best ive ever bought.

  • +1

These micro usb cables are out of this world, man.

  • Hi - another noob question. Are these cables suitable for USB + charging of samsung galaxy s3 phone?

    • she'll be charged for dayzzz

      • Yes this will definitely work for the galaxy s3.

  • Never knew you actually needed a 2A cable to pump out 2A from a 2A wall charger. Thought any cable would do

    • +1

I've got myself one of those USB Voltage and Current display gizmos. My (current) 2m cable only allows about 500mA. I switched cables and I was getting around 1A. Cables do make a difference.

    • +3

Here's how you work out what a cable can supply.

Current = (Voltage drop) divided by resistance.

For a lithium rechargeable battery, the voltage is at full charge is 4.2V. The charger chip will have a small voltage drop too, usually about 0.2V. You are charging from a 5V plugpack, so the allowable voltage drop is 5V - (4.2V + 0.2V) = 0.6V

Resistance you get from a chart. Resistance of 26AWG copper wire is 0.134 ohms per meter, so a typical 2m USB cable with 26AWG wire will have a resistance of 4x0.134 = 0.536 ohms (remember there are two power wires in a USB cable, so a 2m cable has 4m of wire). Resistance of most wire gauges comes from a chart, here's a typical one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_wire_gauge#Tables_of_A…

So the maximum current that can be supplied towards the end of charge is 0.6V/0.536 ohms = 1.12 amps.

24AWG wire is 0.084 ohms per meter, so it can supply 1.78A for a 2m USB cable. Many charging cables are only 1m long, and at that length, both 24AWG and 26AWG cables can supply the full 2A.

Picked up 3 last time, great cables and going to pick up a couple more now.

  • Anyone know if these will fit the charging port of a Galaxy Note 3 in a Spigen or Otterbox case? Only the slim tip OEM cables have worked for me so far.

    Thanks

  • +2

Rep, can the power bank charge and discharge at the same time, i.e. put them into AC adapter and charge your phone at the same time?

    • +1

Also curious at this. Are you thinking of using it as a UPS by any chance technogear? Would be quite nice to put one on my raspberrypi…

    • I remember the Sony powerbank does allow charge and discharge at the same time..but not sure for the Tikbro one

  • Awesome, just put in order for 2x 2m cables. Based on feedback on these, I'm hoping they'll be much better than the other generic branded ones

  • Would be great if the 3m cables are available as well
Will there be a restock soon for 3m?

  • +2

bought 2 3M cables last time… neither still work

    • +1

Same here, see below. They were garbage. I was ticked bro.

  • I saw on ebay, your office and warehouse are on Springvale road VIC. Where are they and is it possible for pick up?

  • +1

Rep, I'm interested in buying the 3m cables. when will they be available?

    • Sorry they are currently out of stock. We will get them in 1 - 2 months.

  • +1

Ever since I tried Tikbro I have never bought any other brand again, I have 30+ cables from Meritline that are useless, and all the ones off eBay as well, they can barely charge and cheap low quality.

The best charging cable ever! as good as the official ones you get in the box with a brand new phone. Don't pay $30 in store.

edit: and with cheaper cables when you try plug it into your PC to transfer files to/from it either crashes or fails to read properly, or windows says "We have noticed you have a cable that is less than USB 2.0 or something, you may experience slower transfer speeds". But with Tikbro it works perfect every time. Happy fast charging.

  • Thanks for the post. I bought a few cables to scatter around the office to stop people stealing the one I keep in my pigeon hole. Does anyone have any tips regarding what would be a good wall charger to plug these into?

  • I ordered a 3m last time. Lasted me a month before the end became wonky/touchy. Was not impressed especially after all the good feedback. Missed the opportunity to raise a PayPal claim. :-(

    • are you sure that you bought a Tikbro cable from this seller?
because there was another seller selling a 3 meter cable around the same period.

    • It wasn't just me then… My 2m one went wonky after about a month also. Inferior plastic or something, I have cheaper cables (that certainly don't charge as fast as Tickbro does) which have not suffered this fate and still work.

Tickbro cables do charge faster, but in my experience weren't made as strong as others are.

Rep: I'm not complaining, 2 or 3 bucks lost big deal. Just wondering if they may have been a bad batch or if construction has changed? I'd like to buy more but don't want the same fate for the new ones :/

      • +1

The faulty rate of the tikbro cable is really low. Maybe 1 in 3000.

If you are really unlucky and received a defective product, please feel free to contact us. We can organize a replacement for you free of charge. Please feel safe to buy from us.

        • Thank you for your response. Your attitude has convinced me to give you another go.

        • I tried pm'ing you but i'm overseas hence cannot pm. will try emailing the ebay user id

    • +1

Similar experience here. I ordered three 2m cables and and two of them were busted within a month of use. The two prongs that stick out and lock the connector in place get pushed in.

  • No love for iPad Air cover rep?

  • rep,
there were an error last time with the ipad cases and we couldn't buy any, when are you going to re-list them ?

    cheers

    • Ok. We will look into that and possibly have a promotion on ipad cases within 2 weeks.

  • -1

Beware of cheap usb cables, often the connections are bad causing things to not charge.. which is quite annoying when it is your phone charging over night!

  • Bought some, good to have some good cables. Thanks rep.

  • +2

Do you have any 24 AWG mini cables (A Male To Mini B) ?

    • Adding to this. If you used a micro-to-mini adapter on one of these cables, would the adapter add enough resistance to reduce the cable's performance?

    • Not yet. We will consider getting other types in.

  • Looks to be the same 24 AWG cable that people weren't happy with in your last deal. Since you're charging the same price as the previous 26 AWG cables I guess one can't really complain this time round.

  • @Rep I bought your 26AWG cables last time and they were quite thick and this batch of 24AWG cables is quite thinner and more flexible. Aren't 24AWG cables suppose to be thicker?

    • You can look at the previous 24AWG deal to see other people thought the same.

There would have been a lot more negative votes in the last 24AWG deal if people, like myself, had not voted positive before receiving the product.

The thing that worries me is that these new 24AWG cables have no rating info on them. The initial 26AWG and most quality cables I have seen have this info printed clearly.

The last deal was only for a 1M 24AWG cable and I bought another 1M this time to see if it was different. Curious if anyone bought the 2M one in this deal and if the quality is any better?

      • I bought 2m cables both times.

    • The quality of the cable is by its durability and charging rate. There is nothing to do with how thick the cable is. With the same budget, we can spend all the money to make it look very good but bad jacketed steel inside, or we spend all the money to delivery you the best copper with reasonable protection.

Most people love our cables because of the fact that our cables charge faster and last longer than all other cables on the market. The good looking branded ones might charge as fast but they cost 10 times more.

I am sorry if our cable disappoint you by its look but trust me, they are really good.

We noted that people want to have a thicker looking cable and we are working on that. Please keep loving us and we promise you that we will always deliver the best product at OZBARGAIN price!
