90

Hi guys, sorry I post this kinda late, deal is ending tomorrow. This is the same head unit as this with reduced price, to $54.60 (if you want delivery +$10)

I know these deals are not that great but if you are desperate for a head unit, this might do it. Me, I am waiting for one of those bluetooth one to come on sale.

Please note this is digital player has a tune tray instead of CD player

  • What's a tune tray?

    • Fancy name of the tray to put your phone or mp3 device in when it is connected to the head unit lol

      • Why not call it a dock?

      • So if it's a tune tray what does it fit? Any flat touchscreen type device?

        • supposedly, unless your device is too big for the tray

  • Highly recommended, easy to install and has been working great for the past few months. Keep in mind it has no CD tray.

Wow, that head unit is old school.

    • Why 6 thumbs down for saying this is an old school head unit? I haven't seen DIN head units in cars since the 1990s.

Despite the fact that all of the CD tuners/media players currently selling look pretty much like that?

"DIN" is simply an electrical connector format, and most car audio systems still use DIN connectors.

        • Nope, DIN refers to the dimensions of the head unit - i.e. the rectangular shape. "Double DIN" is one that is twice the height.

Actually it can refer to either the:

But that's besides the point, you said:

I haven't seen DIN head units in cars since the 1990s.

Which makes no sense as the DIN standard is still the default standard for aftermarket car audio head unit dimensions (and indeed many factory car audio units too) and car audio connectors.

    I stole a Pioneer MVH-155UI from Supercheap a week ago for $45

I got one of these for $40 or thereabouts a while back when JB were having one of their sales.

Seriously good value, haven't had any troubles with it. No longer have 300 CDs in my car either, good stuff!

  • What's a good price for a bluetooth head unit? I bought a Kia branded brand new one from ebay for $80, they're now selling for $100 delivered - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KIA-CD-Player-Brand-New-Bluetooth…

It's great because it routes phone calls through the cars speakers and has a built in mic. I figured it was worth it to avoid the $433 fine + 4 demerit points for using a mobile phone while driving.

I wouldn't buy a head unit without bluetooth . If your going to all the trouble of replacing the stereo you should make it worth your while .

  • How do you install one of these ? I drive a ford falcon? Any tips ?

    • What year and model?

    • Seriously? Pop the dash trim off, unscrew cage, unscrew stereo, screw in new stereo, screw in cage, put trim back on. There should be a cheat sheet on the ford forums and some youtube videos out there :)

      • What about disconnecting and connecting? You're not just going to leave it there unplugged. Lol

        • Ford -> ISO -> Sony Aerpro connectors :)

Expensive but OH SO GOOD! If you change brands, you only need brand -> ISO and can sell the old headunit with the ISO plug attached :) Usually get most of the cost of it back.

Or if you stay with the same brand you can re-use the old one. On a good day, they cost $12.50 per plug :)
