    • +2

Weren't they $80 last boxing day.

      • -8

Last time i did a so called cash back i got a stupid debit card thing loaded with the money.
        never again.

        • +9

Why is a debit card stupid? It still has spendable currency on it.

        • -5

i bought the item thinking it was "cash" back
          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cash
people on gumtree or ebay dont take debit cards as this was a swipe and enter pin type.
if your selling a phone on gumtree will you take this stupid debit card thing?
i certainly cant draw the money out of a atm.

          thats why.

        • +6

Use it for your groceries or something. It's still money.

        • +8

do u really only spend money on ebay and gumtree?

        • -7

you guys are not getting the point
it's advertised as cashback. when in reality you are not getting cash back.

who knows maybe there something on ebay i was going to buy but was holding out till i get the cashback then to be surprised to see it in fact was not cash.

just saying its pretty much false advertising when you don't get Cash back.

        • +5

It's you who doesn't get the point. Get your lazy arse to an ATM and withdraw the CASH.

Did you expect notes and coins to be sent in the mail? Sending a pre-loaded debit card is even more convenient than getting a cheque for the cash back.

        • +3

Definition of 'cash' in this day & age refers to both physical & digital funds that can be exchanged for goods & services.

        • I think holden used to CB's which require giving away personal bank details…

        • +1

I guess his mommy does the washing and shopping

        • +1

Maybe you should find a dealer with an EFTPOS machine…

      • +5

Weren't they $80 last boxing day.

After getting the boxing day deal (console+3games) for $69 after $100 CB, anything more than that doesn't seem attractive…

        • +5

sssh….they stuffed up and gave me 2 sets of $100 cashbacks for the same deal :P

        • +6

Oh what! You lucky bugger. So MS actually gave you $31 + free bundle?!

Now that makes the original deal crap…

        • +5

That and I also bought another xbox under cashback deal from jbhifi and got the cashback from that too(only one though), then sold the xbox on gumtree for $100 after taking the controller out for a spare controller :) So all in all, had a pretty good xbox boxing day haul!

          • Paid $169 to MS Store for 1 xbox + game bundle
          • Paid $189 to JB Hifi for 1 xbox, and got 2 $30 vouchers with the mastercard gift card promotion

After further shenanigans and waiting for cashback, finally ended up with:
          - 1 xbox, 3 games bundle, 1 extra controller
          - $300 in cashback
          - $100 from gumtree sale
          - $60 in jbhifi gift vouchers

Definitely one of the better bargains I've been able to participate in, and all thanks to ozbargain :) Glad I stayed up on christmas eve night to get an order in to Microsoft store before they ran out of stock.

        • MS showed as out of stock for me about 15 mins before Xmas.

        • +1

          @Kenb0,

Well done! You did pretty much the same thing as me, but did you also use your $60 worth of JB vouchers to buy the $69 320gb HDD @ $9? I was pretty chuffed with myself on this play! ;)

        • +1

Nice one stewballs, that's a good use for the vouchers :) I was going to do something similar except I just decided I was going to chip mine, so I can then whack in any of my spare hard drives I have lying around the house(also resulting from spending too much time on OzBargain looking for bargains on hdds)

Might end up using the vouchers when jbhifi has a nice deal on kinect….

        • If you want a kinect, I'd just grab a pre-owned one from EB Games, I've seen a few bought like this & they've been in pristine, as new condition for under $40! :)

    • Xbox 360 will be 9 years old later this year, is it really "cheap"? I think $99 is overdue for the 360 and ps3 models that contain no hdd.

Thanks to the poor quality of the blu ray drives on the fat ps3's I'm hoping a sub $100 ps3 pops up while I still have interest in clearing my disc based ps 3 backlog.

I don't bother with console gaming anymore, but at this price… I'm sure there are a handfull of exclusive's I've missed that I could catch up on.

Would make a very decent media server with SSD.

    • +5

      Server?
      SSD?

      It's a console.

  • What is the E stand for?

    • +3

      'Economy'

the S is the better unit as this cuts out optical and some usb but most people wont use that stuff anyway

      • No optical drive? Or optical sound?

        • +1

For sound of course! A bit disappointing, for me at least, because now I have to plug the sound through my monitor; an additional, pointless necessary step to get surround sound.

      • Not compatible with physical game discs then?

    • +1

A bit smaller than 2010’s Xbox 360 S (I'm talking millimeters here), there's really only a few aesthetic changes to the design of the 360 E. For starters, it's designed to fall in line with stylings of the Xbox 360's incoming successor, Xbox One. The 360 E shares a similar glossy and matte mashup with angled grilles on top and on either side for venting.

      • Wait.
        So no disc drive?
and with only 4GB HDD how to play digital games…?

edit: nm optical as in optical-audio

  • -8

Good price for the best console of its era. Still able to play all the latest games like titanfall, bf4 and PVZ Garden Warfare. Games that even the PS4 can't handle.

It was ahead of its time the 360.

    • -2

      I concur.

MS really f***ked things up with their corporate greed.

There's no way to justify buying an XB 1 over a PS 4, they have already lost this gen.

One layer of DRM after another, just imagine if that no sharing game discs was implemented.

What a bunch of (profanity) MS has become.

The MS boat will further sink with Steam OS on Linux and alternative Office apps popping out.

      • +5

        "alternative Office apps popping out"
OpenOffice has been around for years.

"titanfall, bf4 and PVZ Garden Warfare. Games that even the PS4 can't handle"
….those games are MS exclusives due to a business deal, not a hardware limitation. You can't be serious right?

Oh, it is school holidays, invasion of the clueless kids.

        • I prefer Kingsoft Office 2013 over Open Office anyday.

Both PVZ GW and BF 4 are NOT MS exclusives.

oh gee, invasion of the clueless toads.

        • +1

I don't often agree with PainToad - but he's spot on the money here.

        • Agreed on both accounts Johnno.

        • @annoynimous - While BF4 is obviously not, Garden Warfare certainly is an MS exclusive. The essence of PainToad's comment was that games are very rarely console exclusive for any reason other than contractual agreements between publishers/developers and the console manufacturers. Hardware differences are normally not relevant when it comes to exclusivity. Obviously Wii/U titles, and other games requiring unique input methods (like touchscreens etc), are in a different ballpark).

      • Xbox One is doing fine. Not selling as well as PS4, but it's still fine.
In terms of exclusive content, Sony will win out though because they fund hundreds of game studios worldwide

Would like to buy one at this price but next week I have to buy new tyres plus the rego and RAA membership is due all at the same time.

Hopefully it will come up at this price or lower again in the next few months.

    • Hopefully it will come up at this price or lower again in the next few months.

Surely it will just keep getting cheaper in the long run.

  • I got one last year on a deal at MS Store for $149 shipped with 2 games. No optical audi out but has an optical drive of course to play the games. Finding the 4Gb internal storage a bit of an issue as we are constantly using it up. Might need to add an Xbox 360 HDD in (slot to do that) or heard you can just add a USB stick for extra save game space? Or there is a saved game "cloud" as well, but we haven't set that up as yet. Just running audio through the TV via the HDMI connection. I think this new slimmer black design is more attractive than the old Xbox 360 bricks.

    • i think you can use 32Gb sticks as storage now so 2 x 32Gb = 64Gb

should be enough for the lite gamer

  • tempted tempted ! must resist , must resist :-\

  • Call me when the PS3 is $99, I want to play some of the exclusives…
