Thanks, I have one of these from many moons ago and really like it! Now I'll have two :)

Edit: Oh and I believe this should require AA battery, but GearBest has listed AAA as battery type.

    • +1

That's correct, they run on a single AA battery

  • ohh me getting :)

  • +2

-.- I want to buy more of these but they only seem to be making the High low strobe ones these days the ON off one is a lot more convenient if your using it for night time markets where you'll be turning it on and off every 6 seconds.

    • +1

The one I have seems to remember the last setting i.e. you can switch it on and off and it always goes to the last used setting, which for me is the high setting.

Turning it on or off quickly or lightly pressing the power switch when on (can't remember which one) then cycles through the modes: high, low, strobe.

  • thanks OP bought one

  • +1

    Another LED torch lol

Wow a neg for that comment - Easter spirit at its best.

  • +3

Tightarse - Good advice about avoiding the $1 insurance if you go straight to PayPal.

I got caught on a 1c deal, immediately requested the insurance cancelled & $1 refunded. I have emailed many times. I have just received notice they say they refunded to PayPal & check in a week … about 42 days after order/refund request!

    • Update: just notified by PayPal that money has been refunded. Even refunded my 1c purchase! But took too long.

  • They're really bright but mine was a little greasy.

  • Convex lens - does that mean it's a thrower and wouldn't be any good for reading books at night?

    • You can slide the heat out for 100% throw or slide it in for maximum flood. Or slide it inbetween them for a mix.

  • +2

awesome little torches. I found 2 unopened in my shed a week ago. bought another one through this deal. awesome price.
    mine came to $3.57 AUD

  • Got one last time and so far it has been awesome!

  • $1 more than this deal so hope myled can bring that deal back

I ordered 2 units and it worked out to A$7.45

If you order one it cost US$3.36 each shipped!

      • Thanks! :-)

      • looks like this is not the same model. 220 lumines compared to 350… whatever that means?

  • Thanks OP! Nice work mate. $3.22 USD

Pick up a stick and light up one end.

      Save $800 on a Galaxy S5.

      • -6

Pretty sure even a budget phone below $100 can have this app.Who doesnt have a phone in the pocket these days?Make good use of your phone! An extra torch is redundant to have.

        • I plan on keeping this in the car in case I have to pop bonnet at night. If I drop the torch once I have saved my HTC one.

        • +4

I know having a torch comes handy and you can not always rely on your phone that is one thing for sure but how you decided our fellow OZBargainer is an idiot for this harmless point of view and put it out in public is another thing

        • not if u go camping at a place where there is no power and cannot recharge your phone. There will always be a need for a torch.

    • Drop your expensive, fragile phone and smash the screen. pay $300 for screen repair.

      Drop a torch, doesn't break.

  • oh, why not, bought 1. thanks op!

  • Great price for a great torch :)Ty

  • +1

Yet another good post from tightarse.

    • Thanks PJC.

I only posted 2 deals today and I thought this one was going to do far better than the torch. How wrong I was!

  • i don't have to do any of that subtract insurance stuff?
signed up, used code and it is $3.22 (3.57AUD)… am i missing something?

    • Best to check what was charged to PayPal - in their email.

In a previous purchase, the amount I agreed to in PayPal went up by us$1 by the time it was billed to PayPal, due to insurance they added.

      • 3.57 confirmation email from paypal. all good

Are you canadian by any chance?

This was on the canadian equivalent of ozbargain.

    • +2

What a great find!! Looks like someone in Canada is keeping tabs on our deals and posting them as their own. It was posted 1 hour after mine.

      • +1

I guess ozbargain is getting famous.

    • +1

I think you're on to something highdealer.

      My post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140211

      Their post: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/free-33-international-univers…

Word for word identical! Theirs was posted around 4 hours later (unless my maths fails me).

      • +1

I did the maths and that post is posted at least 2 days after you did. 12/4/2014 as oppose to April 14th 2014. And it is not that surprising that their post is identical to your, after all you did copy and paste the description from the website word for word.

  • Great just what I need more shit from gear best. Still it looks good I think I'm gonna have to order one… Maybe for my car?

  • Hey can anyone tell me how bright these are compared to an iPhone/Android phone torch LED program? Thanks!!

    • +1

what kind of a question is that… no disrespect
this torch blows those crappy pseudo-torch wannabes out of the water!

these cree torches are better than your average typical bulb torches as well :)

      • Ok Thanks! Well I don't have a cree LED torch but I'm always amazed how much brighter the LED in a phone is compared to say a 15 LED torch like this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76748 so I wondered how these cree torches compare to a phone!

  • So just how good is it? Still thinking.

  • -7

    not a big deal
remember its 350lm, they are around this price, on ebay you can find them around $4
here is a better deal for $2.70 USD Cree Q5 220LM 3-Mode Zoom LED Flashlight

      • +1

I see the link worked for you but looks like something here killed the link! it is not working anymore, btw I never had problem with them just simple issues, this things are a part of shopping experience. at least they refunded for you, some don't.
That is why I prefer to shop with Australian retailers

    • not a big deal

Your link is dead, so that's a big deal!

      • +3

Sorry dear TA but its not a bargain

Sorry dear TA but its not a bargain

No need to apologise to me pal. I only post what I believe are bargains.

So far, 143 people reckon it is. Happy Easter.

        • +1

Happy Easter to you and your family too
Wish everyone enjoys wherever they shop :)

        • How is that a deal?? $5.69 for the same light!?!?

Yes it says 800LM, but do you really believe a single AA can generate 800 lumens??? Zebralight sc600 750LM is one of the best in class, with a 18650 battery. This, to me, looks like it's the same light, advertised falsely and $2 more expensive. No deal man!!!

        • I most welcome the way you think but let you enjoy it yourself mate
          Then why you pay 3.22?
you can buy this for $1! coz they are all the same!

        • Show me the deal for $1, shipped, and I'll + you mate!

        • -3

just search for torch in the price range you like, they all have the same light as you said and thanks for your + but keep it for now ;)
forget about brightness go get one of these waterproof decent flashlights for $2.50
          www.newfrog.com/p/torch-light-flashlight-waterproof-mini-led…

        • Why was the myled q5 220 link removed? I bought this one and it is very good.

        • +1

Money talks mate, join the stream!
thats the beginning of an end!

        • Sorry not true. Even with the current 20% off https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140944 the CRE 220 is a few cents more expensive than the posted 350lm because Myled has shipping costs. Plus the 350 is brighter.

Yes it is not as good as the past 220 deal but it is a good CURRENT deal. So giving it +1 but still no buy because waiting for a better deal ( and already own 5 but the CRE is a nice solid torch).

        • pal, your $2.70 USD Cree ends up at AUD $4.26 when shipping is added.

        • That's my point!

  • Thanks got one

  • +2

Just an example of ozbargain hype. Not much bargain imo even though I picked one up for no reason apart from novelty addiction habits.

  • +1

Another one added in my Torch Carousal. Thanks OP.

  • Thank you!

  • GearBest are a bit slow with the delivery. It took about 6 weeks for me to get this… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/135059

I'm guessing this 350 Lumen "UltraFire" branded one is better than the 220 Lumen one that pal posted, so I went with this one.

Thanks TA… Didn't really need one, but never know when it'll come in handy!

  • Thanks grabbed 2. Was waiting for torch deal.

  • FYI my last order from these guys (the led light globe) was processed late February and was only delivered today…17 April… Seems like a good price, but shipping takes a loooooong time.

  • 11th Commandment: Thou shall have a LED Torch.

    • No, you are wrong. Thou shall have at least 5 LED Torches…

  • Anybody has an idea how to disable the 3 modes on this torch? I have one already and it is annoying to be honest. I just want 1 mode meaning i just want on and off.

    • -2

      firstworldproblems

      • Is it at least as bright as this one? Not really sure what things like LM mean in real world despite it being double that of this one.

        • Hard to say with these torches. I've got this 500 lumens and it seems slightly brighter than the 600 lumens I linked to above. But the benefit of how small the 600 is, makes it my favourite of the two. I like how I can clip it to my watch band when my hands are full.
