Even though N2820 is in the title?

Almost double for the i3 lol. Waiting for i3 with ssd and ram to be around AUD300.

meh…. still the old dodgy model with the 2820

hurry up and sell these so we can get the 2830 refresh

      • problem is intel wants old stock cleared first as they aren't changing the SKU number

need to check the label to know which revision it is

      • I've read this article and done a google search, couldn't find any more info, the problem stated is
'Driver glitches and issues with the on-chip USB controller causing early adopters no small amount of heartache.'
But what does this actually mean, can a driver update fix all the problems? Does anyone have any idea how would it impact different installs, ie windows vs openelec?
I assume these deals are cheaper as it is clearance model now, and if it makes little/no difference maybe the bargain is better than waiting?

Basically, it is pot luck whether you'll get a DN2820 that will end up working successfully for you. Lots of driver problems, lots of problems with firmware updates (sometimes essential for particular hardware/os combos), some display incompatibilities (incl. reports of some units needing a 1024x768 display made to run the bios setup). Have a look thru the Intel community forums at https://communities.intel.com/community/tech/nuc/content . If you feel like playing russian roulette after that, go for it! (I did, and lost :(

        • Thanks heaps, makes the decision easy, an easy no. I'll hold out, sorry about your gamble, 1 in 6 chance, bad luck.

  • Damn, need the i3 version for 3D movies

  • Has anyone deployed one of these as an IP camera box running Blue Iris or similar ? I am keen to set something up but don't want another full blown pc chugging away 24x7

  • Good for office :)
    But not for htpc

Its 22nm and dual core 64bit, you won't notice much difference CPU wise but the GFX may or mayn't be adequate..

    info about the CPU http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2014/04/24/intel-n2820…

I HATE the ice alf pot luck anything…

    • Upvote for mayn't :D

Bought one 2 months ago to use as HTPC and no issues. Wouldn't mind another one at that price but might wait for the refresh.

    • I thought the Intel graphics had major issues with 24p. Have you got 24p working with no drama?
