  • I just brought the 3m one off you this morning for $5.45 when i found out you had it back in stock. :(

    • +3

This is one of the rare cases of "The early worm gets eaten."

Hope OP can help you with it…

    • +2

You might be able to bring it back

  • Finally there's 3m cables on offer! :)

Also rep - could we pretty please have an offer on a USB wall adapter? I might have broken a few of mine…

    • +3

I'd recommend getting a good branded USB wall adapter instead. They usually have better electronics that detect a full charge on your battery and stop sending more charges.

By itself, cheap USB wall adapters are okay to use, as most good batteries also have the safety switch to turn off current when full. However, when used in combination with dodgy batteries, you could end up with an exploding grenade.

  • +1

$2.25 for the 1m, seems to be a typo above.

  • +5

Hey rep, are the 3m ones better quality than the previous lot which many OzBargainers reported as failing within a month? Also is it possible to get a swap on the faulty one I received? I raised the question a couple of times on your previous posts…
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/1950579?redirect=1

    • Yes. They are better quality. If you can bring the faulty one back to our store or simply send it back, we will swap it for you.

      • +2

Simply send it back at my cost?

  • Where is the pick up address in Melbourne?

    • It is 16/820 princes hwy. springvale, 3171
      Monday to Friday 10am-6pm

  • These cables are really good. I had problems charging Nexus 7 with other cables, but not with Tikbro. I even created a USB wattmeter to find out where is the problem and turned out cables are to blame.

    Highly recommend!

  • Hi rep,

Is 6600 power bank able to charge while charging?

    • +2

I bought one in the deal in December last year and just tried it out then. No go. Otherwise very pleased with it, however.

  • +7

I bought 3 2m cables last time around and they all broke within 3 months. I can't recommend these.

    • Ive had my cable for over a year now.
Not here to argue. Just saying it depends on how much care you put in.
Also i charge 3 devices with this, so yes i do use it frequently.

      • +1

I have to agree with you. I have two 2m ones I use daily and they are both still great. I'm buying more.

        • +4

I've got two 3m ones and one has failed in the first month, the other has lasted 6+ months. So I guess its a bit of a quality control issue.

      • Oh I disagree. My 3m junk of a cable that the rep wants me to post back at my cost got mega good care and was only used a few times.

The rep also confirms the new batch being better, implying that the previous was not. Quality manufacturers don't have these issues.

        • +1

I've ordered from them 3 times. Each time, the cable is different. They keep changing manufacturers!
I just received my 3M one today. It looks like 26AWG.

    • +1

I had mine for 1 week now its very loose on my Nexus 5 Port ive got a difference cable and its a tight fit so its not my phone port.

  • Hi rep, is the micro usb pin thin enough to charging with a phone cover on? There are a lot of these aftermarket micro usb cables with very thick fitting which can't be used to charge a phone with the cover on. Please advise.

    • +3

I'm not OP or a rep, but here are a couple of pics of the Tickbro along side a stock HTC One cable.
      http://imgur.com/1z5jcSj
      http://imgur.com/Ifh6kvY

The Tikbro is the oblong shaped one, the HTC is oval. I don't have a vernier caliper but by eye, the Tikbro looks like they measure about 9.5-10mm by 6.5mm.

      I hope that helps.

      • Many thanks Flyerone for your detailed explanation with the photos. That was very helpful. I struggle to find a good cable which would fit on my nexus 5 with the bumper cover on. I have an old samsung cable which I use as a spare one and need another good cable for charging in my car mainly.

  • Was looking to get a 26awg usb cable for charging at work. Cheers

  • I've got nexus 5 and looking to buy a faster charging USB cable. Which one should I be looking at? Thanks

  • +3

Is the 1M cable 24AWG and the 2m & 3m cables 26AWG? Also, on the ebay page, the 1M cable display pic is 26AWG? What's the correct details?

  • I am a bit puzzled. If I want a power cable for Samsung Galaxy S5, which one I need ?
    This one

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261303942300

    OR this one :

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261429750550

    • +1

They both work. One is USB 3.0 which will allow better data transfer speeds. Everything else is the same. You can plug the micro USB 2.0 into the 1/2 of the 3.0

  • Hooraay~ finally a 3m offer

    Just bought 2x 3m cable

  • Can someone tell me (a) if the 3m cable is good for data transfer as well or just charging; and (b) what sort of USB cable (length/ quality) comes with the charger?

  • Bought 3m ones this time round to power the SJ4000 action camera. Previous 1m and 2m ones looks good and works well. The 2m ones just weren't long enough to tuck along the windscreen and dash.

  • +5

I had mixed results with these cables. Bought something like 10 of them and 4 have since become virtually unusable with the mechanism to keep the cable firmly plugged in wearing out quite rapidly, so those cables now slip out all the time. The other 6 located elsewhere (including the one by my bed) seem to be okay though. For how cheap they are I'm not too fussed… just bought another dozen.

    • +1

yes - great cables EXCEPT for the little retaining bumps wearing out. On my last 1 (out of 3 originally bought) because they won't stay connected to the device any more.

      • +1

I will have to agree with you on this one.

  • 24AWG 1m @ $2.25ea Free postage

However, in the link it says:
    It is 26AWG.

    Beware?

  • @rep: are the 2m and 3m 24AWG or 26AWG?

  • Geniune question, what is the difference between these and the cheapo ones off ebay??

    • more copper, so higher current (up to 2A) ==> faster charging
that assumes your charger supplies and device can use more than 500mA

      • thanks mate, so these will work for BOTH charging + data?? cos I had cables before where it only charges but doesnt work when connected to PC…

        • The ones from the last time work fine for data.

        • great thanks, bought 1!

  • Noob here.

So these power banks are perfect for charging your iphone when out in the middle of nowhere?
Which one? The bigger or smaller?

    • +1

How long will you be in the middle of nowhere? How many charges do you need?

Better value would be something like this, if the special comes back: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/143641

More capacity per $ and reputable brand.

  • Well lets say im at the coast and i have 2% battery AND im texting multiple women to set plans for the evening. simply looking to give the phone enough battery for said above!

Thanks for the link. Bookmarked. +1ed

    • Enough battery to text? Or are you intending to use the camera a bit that evening as well?

  • Made an offer for usb 3.0 cable of 2.99. Please accept thanks OP!

  • Hi OP, do you have 3m usb 3.0 cables for the note 3 ?

    • might nee usb 3.0 extension for that. Thats how I'm doing it right now :(

  • +1

I bought 2 of these. Returned a faulty one and got a quick replacement but now both don't work. Not work kicking up a fuss but wouldn't recommend.

  • Rawr…!!! I just purchased 4 x 2M cables…!!! Great buy…! :)

  • onya bro, tikbro

  • Just purchased 4.
I'm wondering what is the difference between 24awg and 26 awg
    Thanks

  • -3

Finally a good quality 3m cable, Thank you!

As always Tikbro is a great brand, best quality cable, no low charge ebay stuff..

    • +1

      A 3m 26AWG is a bit thin. I don't think it will fast-charge higher-current devices like a tablet.
You can get thick 24AWG 3m cables on ebay for $9.99. That will definitely fast-charge tablets and phones.

      • I'm comparing them to the cheap knockoff cables on ebay which don't charge at all (not the $10 ones obviously). I just need one for my room with the exact length, not worried if it's not as fast as 24AWG

  • +1

Says 24AWG here, in the link it shows 26AWG, NO reply to ozbargainers
That looks like a bit of misleading

    • 1m is 24AWG, 2m and 3m are 26AWG, thanks for pointing out the error on the eBay listing.

      • +1

Sorry. I was wrong. They are all 24 AWG.

        • +2

Sigh. Would have been nice to tell us while the deal was still on. Hope you can fix your eBay listing to reflect that info next time.

  • Guh, I "bought" some yesterday, but they are still in my cart, at a higher price. Paypal must have timed out. Still got the $30 charger though.
