    They make good shoe racks

  • Did you know that truck-drivers and transport companies have built a shrine to Chep pallets?

Some sort of vigin worship to them, never seen so much nonsense recieving delivery and they want a Chep in return or other

    WEIRD!

    • +3

So.. you get a delivery on a pallet, and they ask for an empty pallet in return? Sounds pretty reasonable and standard to me… It's called recycling, and I'm pretty sure the pallets are usually the property of the delivery company anyway.

      • The company either hires them or sells them and buys them back.

        • Thank you, oh powerful pallet overlord :)

    • Lol, you beat me to it. Damn Narcs…

    • +3

I see at least one CHEP pallet in there :p

  • +4

What colours do they come in ?

    I'm after some blue ones.

    • How about the warranty?

  • +3

Memories of the good old days working student jobs in warehouses, dragging pallets around.
At the time, I remember pallets being rather expensive, so truck drivers would ensure to get a decent (not broken) one back. I think $2 is quite a good price. I expect most Ozbargainers could use them for all their Eneloops, Harmony remotes, SSD's, free coffee and tea samples, etc.

also good for hanging wall gardens…

    • +5

assuming the wall gardens have been proven guilty…

      • What's wrong with a good old fashioned wall garden lynching

time to start building some pallet furniture

Here's a great article about the pallet industry I read recently.

    • +3

      That's pretty good.

When is the movie out ?

      • +1

        bahaha

    • +1

Although not exactly riveting it was a good read!

        Although not exactly riveting

        But it was palletable…

        • +2

          You really nailed it JV.
But your picture looks a little wooden…
thanks folks, I'll be here all week!

  • +1

so that is where all the pallets end up

  • +1

It says "from $2" = you show up and the junk termite ridden one is $2 and the rest are much more $$. For a 'generic' product, I hate the "from" bait line.

    • +1

They range from $2 to $10 but average around $4. No termites in these!

People pay for these? Whenever I've needed pallets I've always been able to get them for free. A quick drive around your local industrial area will usually show you who has plenty to spare, then just go in and ask. Most of the time they are more than happy to give you as many as you'll take.

That said, quality and dimensions can vary. You've also got to be careful that they aren't chemically-treated ones if you are going to use them for firewood (I don't do this, but I know people that do).

EDIT: in defence of the OP though, if you wanted guaranteed quantity / quality / dimensions it would be a lot easier to buy them from a place like this. I had no idea how many different pallet 'standards' there are until I started wanting to build things with them

Our pallets are never chemically treated. If necessary we get them heat treated to kill any bugs that could be in the wood, but never chemically treated.

      • +1

Thanks for the reply. So in theory…cheap firewood!

  • +1

I can hear this calling us

  • I used three to make a compost bin. Worked well and I just picked them up from various roadsides…

  • Picking them up from roadside can never guarantee the quality of them, what they've been used for or how they've been treated. all our pallets are reliably sourced and range in sizes and wood types.

Ever since I joined OZB I've bought so many stuff that I never wanted and never thought of buying before. Some of them never used after buying. I will give this a miss. If I buy few of these I won't be having enough space to live in my house.
I am sure some of you will still buy this thinking you might find a use of these one day :D

    • +1

You can use these to stack up your unused Ozbargain purchases neatly in your garage.

Didn't you buy that cheap forklift from Meritline in that deal in Feb ???

      • +3

Nope. I missed the deal on folk lift last time. I will keep an eye on OZB to find a deal on folk lifts. As you suggest I'll buy few of these first while they are on special.

  • +2

I think a brand new pallet is about $100 each.

    • +1

These are so cheap must be refurbished?

      • No, we just need to clear out the space for another load we are getting early next week. Definitely most of these are in good condition, if you want to come and take a look feel free to give Rod a call on 0149 955 338

    • Brand new pallets can be anywhere between $30 and $45 or if you needed custom made pallets they can vary in price as well. We also do decking and racking pallets for your convenience.

  • Why is this in the Travel category? Do they fly?

    • +1

They float… I am just having this vision of a massive arc made out of pallets.

To see the world’s biggest bonfire you’ll have to visit Alesund, Norway, where wood pallets are stacked over 40 meters (131 ft) high on an artificial island. The occasion? Sankthans, or ‘Midsummer’,

Check it out - the OP should do this instead of selling them here
