Logitech Gaming Mouse G500 for $20 (Save $40) @ Officeworks, Browns Plains, QLD

580

Saw these on Sunday, there were about 10 left in total. Make sure to tell cashier the clearance price as she first charged me $60 before I reminded her that they were on sale.

Excellent gaming mouse for the money, highly recommend it.

Probably won't last for longer than a few more days.

Sometimes they wack off another 5% from the price, if they screw up the price, cuz they usually put it in as a "Price Match"

I clicked your link, read it and just had to add another downvote to his tally. Pretty disappointed to still see Broden's about!

    • Why do you think there are only 10 left?

    • +2

      Wow. What an asshole.

  • If only I wasn't at work :(

Someone PLEASE buy as many as you can and take a photo of them in your car boot.

The Socialists here need to be reminded that this is a capitalist society still.

    • +17

No it is not legally wrong to buy at a discount and sell at a profit on ebay.

Yes it makes the market more efficient, it is consistent with a capitalist system and minimizes dead weight loss.

      HOWEVER

I don't think people are annoyed because they want to live in socialism or disagree with capitalist values. The point is that this is an online community where people try to create opportunities for other members to score a bargain.. That is the whole point of this community's existance. Presumably the reason anyone posts a link to a bargain on here is because they want as many people as possible to benefit from it. When someone use the opportunity someone else has made them aware of, to deprive other members of the community of that same opportunity, that person is undermining the point of the community. This is why it annoys people around here.

        Perfectly said.

      • +1

Well said. I however found a new level of low and much worse than Broden which is stealing the Mario Kart 8 Wii U game codes from the cases on the shelves and sell on Gumtree or eBay.

      Why is this nonsense upvoted?

This is why we can't have nice things…

Seriously this guy is so thick headed that even with more than 100 negs on dafatha he still cannot grasp the point of why people disapprove of his action. You are so dumb smh

Called up 4 VIC stores (Maribyrnong, Fitzroy, Yarraville & Ascot Vale) and none of them have any stock

    • Called Wentworthville NSW, they dont stock the item

I'm amazed at how much flak dafatha copped from that last deal. I mean sure brodening is a dick move.. But its not legally wrong, its questionably morally wrong, at most its frowned upon by the ozbargain community… And people were (jokingly) saying they were gonna send bikies round, sharing his gumtree & ebay listing and mobile phone number suggesting calling him at 2am. I mean seriously guys. Do you care THAT much about missing out on a mouse deal coz someone else beat you to the punch. Geez. There plenty more fish (mice deals) in the sea.

He didn't even take all of them even tho he very easily could have. He only took about half. Even if he did take the whole lot.. I'd think he was a dick for about 2 seconds and then move on with my life. :S I get that it means other people miss out. But there's always gonna be other people that miss out. No need to start a name and shame campain and actually impact the guys personal life.

Yes but if you read that discussion you will realise that he was up against complete trolls who argued for the sake of being haters.

      • yeah i tl;dr my way outta there pretty fast

      • +1

        So we are trolls now?

Name calling thats a great way to get your argument across.

All I am saying is that we understood that it is anyone's perogotive to do what dafatha did but in the spirit of OzBargain it shouldn't be done to benefit a member of the OzBargain at the expense of others.

Why are you so amazed? It's a known fact that ozb community looks down upon this behaviour and the guy intentionally posted the pic just to get people going. It would have taken less effort to shut his trunk without taking a photo to post online so he knew what reaction he was going to receive.

        • +5

Do you speak for EVERYONE here?
          No, just generalising?

jzdhgkd is right. Regardless of whether its right or wrong, the reaction from the community was entirely predictable.

On the broader point, I'm not especially happy with the notion of reselling on OzB, but don't see it worthwhile in trying to police. All the same, dafatha posted the photo when he had full intentions of reselling en masse. It was a provocative, douchey move, and to my mind more of a troll than the predictable responses it prompted.

Why do you think you are getting negged giggles? Why?

OzBargain was created to share deals. Brodening means hoarding, which is not sharing. Although sharing deals and sharing the stock level of those deals are two different sharings contextually, it is the value of sharing that is important. Therefore, it goes against OzBargain's values. Is the aim not to spread deals and value to everyone potentially interested? More than just those that want to bulk buy and resell elsewhere for profit? Otherwise, it should be renamed OzBroden, OzPriceCamper, OzProfessionalBulkShopper or Gerry'sProfessionals among other names. Well that's my opinion.

  • Good mouse, but personally am saving for this beauty: http://i.imgur.com/AZyZY9P.jpg

    • OUCH!

    • Noice!!

  • Hmm I've had two G500s fail on me already!

    • I recently bought 1 and love it, but curious to know what kind of failure occurred for you?

      • left button became erratic for me after 2 years roughly. I would buy another one as I bought the first for $50, totally worth it!

      • Mine was the "cheap switch" issue, where clicks become double clicks and dragging becomes impossible. Happens to so many brands these days; almost as if they're all racing to the bottom.

      • I too had the left click fail on me

        • My left click on my MX518 has a noticeable droop on it. It doesn't sit flush with right click button anymore.

      • The first one was also a left-click failure; every time i clicked it would some times double click instead, that was a big nono for DOTA since it used targetable items on myself instead.

Second failure was sometimes not registering movement.

        • Far out!!! This just started happening to me in the last couple of days.
Thought it was my computer at first but then after reading into it last night people were saying that it would be the microswitches getting dirty or stuck.

Was going to order a G500S today to replace it.

    • Mine still works, but whenever I press/depress the left click, it sounds like an old bed squeaking.

  • Went to Officeworks Kotara NSW, no stock. They looked it up and pointed me to Warner's Bay.
Store has plenty of stock but they wouldn't price match it because it's a "store specific clearance"
Good luck to those who can find it and get it at this bargain price!!

  • I already have a G5, is this a worthwhile upgrade?

    • +1

Not really an upgrade. Only worthwhile if there is something wrong with your g5.
I find build quality on the originals better, however middle mouse button failed on my g5 after many years abuse.

      • I'm pretty happy with the build quality of my G5, only needs a clean once every few years to remove pet fur. But the sensor port does attract pet fur quite often.

I think I'd like to try a larger mouse next.

  • Don't bother if you're after a mouse for gaming.

    Logitech G500 - Avago ADNS-S9500

    • Inconsistent acceleration
    • Sensor position off-center (poor placement)
  • Got one of these from Frankston Vic store on Saturday. Had a table of them at the time.

  • I've got a Logitech G300 and was suppose to replace my G5 old school mouse with it, took it out of the box, played with it for a few minutes put it back in the box.. anyone wanna take it off me :) paid like $29 for it happy to sell it super cheap! :)http://gaming.logitech.com/en-au/product/g300-optical-gaming-mouse

  • They must be sending these to random stores. Last week it was WA and this week QLD. Hopefully the Sydney CBD location will get a few. I'd like to get one :)

    • A more likely scenario is that both branches happened to find a load of old G500 mice somewhere and needed to make room for new stock. I seriously doubt there's more of these lying around the stock rooms of other OW branches. They've been out of production for years.

  • Does this work for other stores? There's a stack of them at my local OfficeWorks (in QLD) but price is marked as $60. Got staff to check the price and it still was $60.

    • Where in QLD did you find them?

  • I went to the Pitt Street and Clarence Street OW in Sydney today to see if they had them, both sites didn't have anything.
The mouse available on the shelves were all just standard or laptop mouse as well.
