      Just so you know - anything you order online with free delivery, you can return to any store within 14 days and get a full refund, as long as it is still in the packaging.

      About a month ago I bought their 54.5" LCD TV and returned it after 7 days because it was crap (Blacks were grey, viewing angle was horrible. Not that I expected much for $493). I had opened the box, but the plastic cling wrap was still on the TV so they refunded the whole amount.

      I paid via paypal and they just refunded onto my eftpos card there an then.

    They had the note 3 for $816 then with $60 off it was $756 and I very nearly bit but that was Sunday. Now its $897 ($837 with discount) and i just cant bring myself to buy it out of principle!!!

    If my calculation right, buy $49 item gets the most discounts. $10 off of $49 is 20.4%. Whereas $60 of $500 is only 12% off. Usually in the normal world, the more expensive the items, the discount should be bigger…

    Just on the chromecast, it seems functionality is limited relative to Roku offerings (e.g. LT). It is a little more expensive, but it seems to me to be better value for money.

    Just wondering why chromecast is more popular than Roku (as an example) — is it because you can't get it in Australia (or at least it's not as readily available - e.g. stocked by the large retailers), is it the low pricepoint, ease of use, or something else?

      I don't know enough about the Roku offerings to give you a comparison, it might be easier if you share what it is you are hoping to achieve with one of these devices. Personally I have had the Chromecast since its release in the states and have found it to be amazing value for money. It's used almost daily in our household for the following uses:

      • Watch and queue YouTube videos straight from the mobile app or PC (multiple users can queue videos onto the one Chromecast device)
      • Renting Google Play movies using my monthly Telstra credit and playing them on the Chromecast via the mobile app, I can then leave the house with my phone and the Chromecast acts as the host for the movie without needing the mobile connected to the WiFi anymore. So anyone at home can continue watching.
      • Using Plex media server and mobile app to instantly access all my movies, tv shows and photos stored on my PC, it works seamlessly!

        I didn't realise it can interface with Plex servers to access locally stored media content — most reviews talks to Chromecast's inability to stream local content. That is good to know!

          I have a few shows stored in m home WIFI network drive, I have Plex media server installed in my MacBook Pro and I can stream those shows from the network drive to Chromecast. I also have a few other shows stored in an external hard drive and I connect it to my MacBook Pro, then I use Videostream to stream to Chromecast.
