Hey Rookie117 not sure why the need to get personal so I'll steer clear of that. Aside from your perspective that it's ancient and that i should open my eyes, have you actually used an iPad2 before? What was your experience?
I had an iPad 2 and an iPad 4. Apart from the camera, I noticed no difference in performance between the two, including spinning 3D building maps around of US cities in Apple Maps. Since I use the iPad camera all of about once, the older camera is a non-issue for me. Apps crash in my iPad 4 as much as they do on the iPad 2.
Same@thecrevis: I've owned each of these: iPad 1, 2, 3, 4, Mini, Air. The iPad 2 has a very old chip, low screen resolution, small RAM just for a start. Apps crash & web browsing is painful due to limited memory. The iOS8 is not the same for every iOS device & is only a small part in how this tablet performs. Is that good enough for you?

It's still a very capable device, and works great as chopping board.
Ipad mini is identical spec apart from the lightning connector a d smaller screen.

When you can get an ipad 4 16GB with 4G for $499 I don't think it's that great a price considering the age of the ipad 2. There is no knowing how much longer the ipad 2 will continue getting updates into the future.

I think it's mainly targeted to consumers who need the old iPad/iPhone connector where an adapter just won't cut it.
They are making space for the new Apple range of products - the iWhy series of white toys that make you wonder more and more why you wasted your money on such an expensive gadget to make the largest cash hoarding company on earth even richer.

Not a bad deal, got a ipad mini for 200 off kogan ebay the other week
how come when its a $200 7 inch tablet everyone shits over the poor resolution… but no one complains about the resolution of 1024×768 .
not to mention its like 3 years old…Yeah that resolution isn't even high enough for a 4.5 inch phone according to many. :)
And it's not a problem because this is an Apple product, where paying current generation prices for outdated by many generations products is regarded a bargain. :D
