  • Received tool kit yesterday and DC54A today in Melbourne. Invoices were also sent one day apart. A few dents here and there and a large cut through the middle of the box. Will open it tonight.

  • I'm guessing the sale was for items in damaged packaging.
Have worked for a white goods company before and they did a similar thing cos it was cheaper to sell em off discounted than to unpack and repack them.

    • From all the comments so far it does seem that way. It's more like a sale for "damaged carton" goods. Either that or Dyson is flogging off all their damaged carton stock first for people who aren't meant to get their products with this code.

Regardless, I'm not complaining coz I got a Dyson@40% off RRP and I bought it for the vacuum and not the pretty carton :) and it does come with 2yrs warranty so who cares?

The box my Dyson came in was pretty banged up as well btw.

      • Not complaining either. I'm just worried about what's inside, but since its only carton damage they probably weren't in a suitable condition to send out to stores.

      • From my understanding, it is just the way of Dyson send out items without extra protective boxes so they get dented through transportation, not because of Dyson intended to sell damaged carton goods. This is because I went to Masters and had a look at Dyson boxes and some of them have even worse damages on the boxes than I received mine from this 40% off sale. Maybe Dyson should improve on their packaging in the future, but nonetheless, I am enjoying the DC59 Animal very much !

  • Got mine today. Happy times!

  • Received DC59A and toolkit in Tas today. No box damage or coloured stickers.

Ran it over a rug that had already been vacuumed with old vacuum. Kinda disgusted at the large amount of dust/dirt it collected!

  • Mine had a damaged box also but vacuum is fine, love it although very noisy!(dc59 animal)

Insert pic of outraged neck bearder here.

    Dented box! Oh the humanity!

  • Got mine today, thanks OP: DC59 animal :)

  • Got my DC59 Animal from the post office yesterday. The box was dented and scuffed on the corners. No damage inside.
Gave it a go last night and even on areas i thought where clean it was sucking up huge amounts of dust. The thing is a best!

    • You mean beast.

  • I received my DC34 yesterday. I'm in rural Victoria. The box was vacuum sealed in thick clear plastic. The box was not damaged and was sealed.

    • good on you mate, prolly the only one who have reported that it was packed properly.

Maybe you were in rural area? (doesn't hold much logic tho, just a thought)

But hey, the machine is really good, so far?

  • Mine arrived but was missing warranty card and manual. Everything else seemed to be there and box seemed to have been opened.

Called Dyson and they are sending me a manual. Also ordered a spare battery for $85 (free shipping) so waiting for that. The batteries go for $100 plus on ebay. yikes!

I'm trying to buy another 2xDC59 Animal but seems like $390 is the cheapest price ever.
If anyone works at PWC and wants to help me out, I'll give them $50 for their troubles.

    • I was going to buy an extra batt for the dc59 too until I realised you had to attack it with a screwdriver just to change it.

The previous designs had it so that it was a push button latch. Rubbish how they've now changed it.

  • let me know(private message on OzBargain) if any of you in Melbourne wanna offload the impulse buy DC59 Animal……. :-)
