    $79 now.

    • $79 now.

What makes you think that? Please read the post. It's still $69.

      • You mean besides the fact it was listed as $79 on the site at the time I posted that post? :/ Should I have taken a screenshot to document it?

Now it is $89, claiming a saving of $10.00.

You mean besides the fact it was listed as $79 on the site at the time I posted that post?

Correct. It was listed at $79 even when I posted the deal. What you neglected to do was read the post, and apply the code, which then reduced it to $69.

    • Yep. Was just about to buy one :'(

        You still have time.

        • You are correct! My bad.

  • Got one.. Ordered…

  • Excellent, thanks! And just in time too, an old hard just started throwing up errors on my Mac.

  • Bleh.. paid $99 + shipping for this a few weeks ago

  • It still works,

If this is now $69 ( btw I bought this same drive on ozbargain last year for 69 less 5% from Officeworks after price matching.) Do the same now rush over to OW and get your $69-5% 1Tb Seagate USB3 drive. I worked for Seagate Singapore as a Reliability Failure Analysis Engineer about 27 yrs ago. Seagates concerns decades ago was contamination and have become contamination control leaders outdoing WD in the last decade. Btw I have worked for WD-HGST 2001-2004 in the field of contamination control in its Hitachi HGST division about 10 years ago). Btw I have bought both the WD passports 1Tb and this Seagate 1Tb product and personally feel the Seagate drive is the better performer. Only time (that is the definition of relaibility!) will tell if their reliability processes and programs have gained traction into extending life for their product.

Personally I am waiting for this price to fall to $AUD30. Then I will buy it.It is still quite expensive to me.

  • still working with code for $69

  • Thanks, picked one up.

  • Damn missed, would've loved this :'(

  • I don't trust Seagate, I owned a 500gb USB 3.0 when it was first released, and it didn't last 6 months, lost all my data.

100% 2.5" Sata still attached Samsung manufactured drive inside :( makes me sad each time i need to write this because no ones i reading older posts.

  • is it possible to remove the hdd from the case and use these as internal drives for a desktop pc?

    • Yes, it's just a normal 2.5" SATA drive inside.

Obviously, you'll have no warranty though.

  • A guy at work received his already. I ordered 20 mins later and missed out on it arriving today!

    • Mine arrived this morning sealed and matching serials.

  • I received my package today. However, the security seal on the item was broken and I noticed someone has written on the internal packaging with a permanent marker. The serial number on the HDD does not match what was displayed on the box either. Have sent an email to Dick Smith….

    • Possibly they send the orders out to stores and couriers pick up from them. Probably a store doing a dodgy.

  • My 2 arrived this morning at 10:30 which was a real surprise because i'm in regional NSW and they were sent from Albury which is 2 and a half hours drive away. Mine were sealed and serial numbers matched.
Can't complain about that for service!!

  • For those that received it is it postal delivery signature? I.e. do they leave it at ur doorstep or hold onto it safely if your not home to receive. Can you click to connect and atill get it currently at $69?

Likewise with the 2tb amazon deal do they leave it at ur door if your not home to accept delivery?

  • Mine were delivered by Startrack Express (Temando).
They were dropped into my wife at her work. One of the perks of living in a small town where everyone knows each other. Normally i'm fairly sure if you are not home, they leave a card for where to pick it up from (usually the post office).

    • Thanks. it help shwen you have a business address - i used to too, but my first week down in the mines and yeah… missing these little things. ill take my chances and order one, surely they won't be stupid enough to leave it outside, if so fingers crossed…

The serial doesn't match.. and the box had a yellow stickers "Display Box Only"
I think they had given me a used one :(

    • Same with me (See my post above). I wrote an email to Dick Smith and they said bring it to the store for an exchange. I couldn't be bothered though.

Do a search of the drive. Find someone's personal information and then embarrass dick smith in the media.
