        Wow, that's a lot of money for a second generation product. Obviously it's not a fair comparison but imagine the beast of a PC system you could build with $1,269.

          So don't make it. The Surface Pro 2 gives mid level desktop performance in a tablet. It is basically 2 systems in one. It's an excellent product which is highly reviewed. The 3 is slightly better but also more expensive than this.

      I don't think the 3 is to supersede the Pro 2, since the screen size on the Pro 3 is much larger. In the same way that Samsung have 10 and 12" tablets.

    SP1 ended up only cost $524 for 64Gb :)
    so, 192Gb extra cost $300+ seems fair, the price should be around $1000 … $1269 is still not really affordable.

    Are these SP2 4Gb or 8Gb ram ? it says "Up to 8GB RAM enabling fast and fluid multi-tasking" but there aint any option to choose 4 or 8GB …
    Australia site is always poor :(

      From memory, the 256 and 512gb models come with 8GB, the others come with 4GB.

        I would op for the 3 with 128gb over this deal. Better battery, bigger screen, smarter stand… USB port there if more memory needed.

    VaporMG casing scratches easily. The top of my screen is a bit bouncy if you push down (like the glue behind it melted off or something)
    Other than that, durability is top notch though, proved by Panos Panay dropping them on-stage live
