  • If you can't wait for the new promotions, sign up where you will be able to see all of their past emails such as the Buy 1, Get 1 Free email

Valid at all Mad Mex locations. Buy a burrito, get 1 for equal or lesser value for free. The email had share links to Facebook, Twitter etc. so it seems they do don't want this deal spread around?

Note: It has been reported that the Claremont (WA) location is requiring the second burrito to be lower in price that your main burrito (per T&C on email). What you can do is ADD Nacho Cheese or Salsa for $1 extra thus making your second burrito lesser value (not sure if this counts as a side). You could also add extra Guac or meat for $2 extra. Rep has informed the store.

Official answer:

That's correct! With any burrito, you get another burrito of same or less value free (ie. reg, sml or naked). Guac extra.

Thanks for the post Neil, saw it just as we were thinking about what to do for lunch….

Just tried to redeem this at Claremont (WA) and was told the second burrito must be of lesser value, not the same value. Given the email says "buy one get one free" everywhere it's pretty easy to overlook this.

    • I think the WA stores are different from the stores elsewhere in the country? The WA menu is more expensive according to the Mad Mex website. E.G. It's $3 for tortilla chips in WA, everywhere else $2.

So, what you probably need to do is add Salsa or Nacho Cheese to your main burrito for $1 more, thus making it more expensive than a standard burrito. Or Guac/meat for $2 extra.

I'll add a note to the description.

      • Reading the fine print on the voucher, it says extras are not included - so technically adding Salsa etc should not be enough.

        • I would assume this means if you add guacamole (or another extra) on one, it doesn't become free on the other.

        • @jobler:

I'll see if I can get an official answer.

        • @neil: Cool, thanks for clearing that up!

    • So can't you just chuck on Avocado/Guacamole for $1 extra and then suddenly the second burrito becomes "lesser value"?

      • +1

Guac is $2 extra but yeah, that should suffice.

    • +1

WOW! … thats dodge! thanks for the heads up!

      • +1

They really are Mad after all!

        • +1

that cracks me up… u give away a burrito to bring in ppl to try your food, like it n come back… instead u pi$$ them off so they go stuff this never coming back …. loll maybe MAD Mex works in the Marketing department

The one in Blacktown NSW is rubbish for this - once a voucher gets you in the door, they try to lawyer you out of what it entitles you to with BS conditions.

My wife loves the place, so we keep going back every now and then, but they pull this stuff all the time.

Maybe the head office doesn't bother to explain the advantages of vouchers to franchisees, or keeps making vouchers they are obligated to honour without consulting them…

      • +1

Yeah some people are like that. Why make a voucher that some store will have a cry about.

    • +1

wow that is very dodgy!! It should say "same or lesser value" like every other coupon i have used in the past..

  • +2

Used voucher today at the Brookfield Place (WA) store without any issues. Both burritos were the same price.

  • Its funny. I got this EDM and so did a friend of mine.

The voucher code is exactly the same on all of them.

  • Do all the burritos come with brown rice and cheese or they count as extras?

Edited: I am actually referring to the stuff in here http://www.madmex.com.au/#menu

    • Brown rice and cheese are included. Like a Subway sandwich. I always ask for lots of sour cream and some hot sauce which I get for free.

      • +1

are any of the extras free of charge or all cost something?

  • +2

Voucher not accepted in Sydney stores. Harbourside said they don't know about the voucher so they're not honoring it.

    • +1

I've queried them. I'll see what they say tomorrow.

    • +1

I used it at the Sydney Domestic store fine after they brought it into the back room and checked it out.

    • bunch of idiots, how do they even allow such tools to work with the public ?

      • +1

Don't blame the 16 year old kid making the burrito, it's the head office/marketing fault.

Same deal with Subway, half the time stores have NFI what's going on because the stores manager is never told.

    • OK, the good news is that they will now contact those stores to make sure they accept the voucher. Probably a little late for you.

Now, they are requesting we take down this deal from OzBargain and other bargain sites. A bit of a disappointing response.

      • any what is your response to this request?

      • Anyone info about Rouse Hill store offering? I don't wanna be (profanity) around.

        • Was gonna go and try at lunch time but something came up. Will try in a couple of hours

  • Used it in the one under myer in sydney cbd. All good.

  • +1

Melbourne South Wharf DFO took the voucher no problem. I didn't have to make one of the burrito's more expensive.

    • Yeah, got two regulars today. Strangely, neither of them were pork.

  • used twice today at melbourne central - they knew all about it. DELICIOUS but who would pay the normal price..$10.90 is a joke!!

    • yeah it is a rip off for something filled with mostly beans and rice. Its tastes OK but nothing amazing, they need more salad or sauce variety or something..

      • -2

Its the rent, staff and the power prices you are paying mate, not the food costs.

      • you don't have to get beans and rice, personally I prefer it with rice and no beans.
