50% off BBQs in BBQ Category on eBay (Sunday - 31/8)

4520
CSIZZLE50

Looks like anything listed as a 'BBQ' under the BBQ category will be entitled to a 50% off discount this sunday! (Max $250 discount)

"The offer entitles you to a 50% discount off the total purchase price (excluding postage) of BBQs in the BBQs category on www.ebay.com.au purchased during the Offer Period."

Hopefully we see some other stuff listed in the category too (assuming that works).

WARNING:
eBay have just added this line to their T's and C's:

eBay reserves the right to disallow or reverse a discount in circumstances where it believes a sale or purchase of any BBQ or other item as part of this sale has not been made in good faith. This includes any collusive conduct by buyers or sellers or any other conduct which eBay considers to be unfair or untoward.

(Thanks JDF)
Be wary of buying items that aren't BBQ's in the category with the discount!

Regardless, anyone after a BBQ should check out eBay this sunday!

  • 1 transaction only (per account)
  • Multiple items per transaction allowed
  • $250 max discount ($500 spend)
  • Must pay with PayPal
  • Must purchase during the offer period (Sunday)

Mod Warning: Please do not post your own eBay listings in this thread. Such comments will be unpublished, the commenter will be banned from participating in the thread and account penalties may apply. Use the classifieds instead for personal items.

  • Those that have received their orders from TheHardwareVillage did you get shipping notification? I haven't received any emails and on eBay it has not been marked as shipped, but when I contacted them, they say it's on it's way.

    • I did get an email letting me know it was shipped j1568

    • Mate I have not received any shipping information either. I have sent them an message asking for shipping info but no response yet. A bit disapppointing really regarding no communication.

      • My Weber Q3000 from TheHardwareVillage (aka Mitre 10) arrived today. It was delivered through Toll.

Only paid $45 for the postage via eBay but can see on the invoice they paid toll $90.

edit: It was a Q3100 after all. Bruce was wrong :)

        • Yeah same. After THV asked for the addition $60 for postage, I contacted ebay and asked them what my rights were. I was told by ebay that I wasn't obliged to pay, so I relayed this on to THV.

BBQ arrived earlier this week. I assembled it and shall be enjoying my first BBQ tomorrow night

      • I wouldn't email them. Instead call Bruce's mobile and he will give you mitre 10 number.

      • Looks like TheHardwareVillage took too many orders than the actual stock they have and awaiting for stock to arrive to send them out.

        • So the same as tom, except no-one is blowing up about THV's "underhanded selling tactics"…

@apate: The difference I guessed is that they didn't jacked up the price like Tom and they didn't sell as many as Tom, and they are a proper store.

      • Just got shipping confirmation. Hope you get one soon too.

        • My Weber family Q delivered through Toll today from THV. My family Q model is Q305 not Q3100.

So I'm not a patient man and I'm suspicious by nature so I called up eBay customer support regarding the webers from Tom and my own in particular.

They said the email from eBay is legit and they are working with suppliers to get people the webers by the 19th of September and it is in your best interest to reply yes which I've already done.

Hopefully this brings peace of mind to some people that it's from a source other than Tom's emails.

PS. I see he's copping some negative feedback on his eBay account.

    • got shipping notification today. should have it tomorrow!

  • My 2 burner Eurogrille turned up a few days ago, assembled yesterday ready for a cook up.

Not sure if anyone is still looking at this thread but if you purchased a Family Q from TGG please go back to TGG and get your $90 back. :)

Couldn't use the Mitre 10 one as the model is different and it is limited stock and had already expired. So used their own price.

Final price is $349 + postage. I couldn't get that refunded no matter how hard I tried.

    • Do they let you do it off their ebay store?

      • +2

Yeps I got my $90 bucks back.

  • i have received my bbq from Tom… so all ended up ok.
