  • Was there a limit per person?

    • No, you can buy as many as you like.

      • +2

        I count 30 left. That's an easy $150-tax.

        • +1

          TAX whatever

        • And then on-sell for super profit.

        • @aoeueoa: Not sure how their cashback works. If its anything similar to the Symantec Norton one, you will need to activate it before cashback goes through. So you cannot on-sell it.

        • @lplau: From T&C's

.6. a) You will first need to install and register your product.

        • @awoff1:

I wasn't aware sd cards need to be installed and registered to be able to use them

        • @kwaker: Neither was I, and I wasn't implying it. Just confirming that like the norton deal, Trend Micro will have to be activated.

        • @awoff1:

Sorry awoff1, I thought this was an sd card not antivirus because it doesn't say anything about it above and the photo is too blurry to see

    $49 online http://www.harveynorman.com.au/computers-tablets/computer-ac…

Anyone have a link to the cashback site? Or is it old stock from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/147936

  • +1
  • Harvey had these up on the gold coast when they had a sale at the convention centre except they were something like $5. I assumed the software is locked into the card and you can't use it for anything else, I remember a memory stick that was like that, couldn't reformat nothing would give you the stick back as usable.

    • +5

Nope. I have a 32gb micro SD from a Trend mobile antivirus pack. Formatted it, and good as new. It's being used in my Raspberry Pi.

  • +6

Just called them (03 9837 1200). A nice young man told me they have around 25 of the Trend Micro Mobile Security packs left in stock. Seems it's only available at Nunawading store. Coburg had no idea what I was on about.

And here's the cashback link, which is different to what's on the box…

Great 1st post sambear, shame about the stock levels :(

  • I think the cashback has been finished….

Just called HN Gordon NSW, said that promotion is old and finished LOOOOONNNNGGGG time ago (that's how he said it)

So OP just paid $20 for an 8GB micro SD card.

So OP just paid $20 for an 8GB micro SD card.

No, see my comment above. Problem is there's only a handful left in store.

  • +3

Symantec (Norton) did it better in their promo - free 32GB MicroSD card instead of an 8GB.. yes, $5 but still 32GB is better for me.. :)
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/138374

    • and Symantec is not store specific

    • That deal was epic, allows you to buy the cheapest phone/ipad/whatever and just upgrade the memory using the free mem card!

      • +5

Ahh I don't think you can use it to upgrade the memory in your ipad. Just saying…

        • Whoops, clearly I'm an Android man lol

  • Dick Smith have this version which will be free after cashback but no goodies

  • grabbed 1 in Preston store for $20, there are couple of packs left.
There is no special promotion in Preston store, I just show store staff member this post and they price match it for me.

    • Thats good. What price did it scan at before.

      • +1

it was $49.95 as shown on the barcode label

  • The cash back terms & conditions seems to indicate that the cash back promotional period ended on 31 August 2014. https://apac-eticket.trendmicro.com/winterpromotion/pdf/AU_Q…

And says this on the main winter cashback promo page:

    "Dear Valued Customers,

Please note that this website has been closed as the Winter Cash Back Promotion has concluded on the 30th of August 2014. No new claims will be accepted for this promotion. For further information, please see the Terms and Conditions.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Trend Micro Retail Promotion Team"

    https://apac-eticket.trendmicro.com/winterpromotion/

HN is advertising a $25 cash back which ended a few days ago.

  • Going by the terms and conditions it looks like you can make multiple purchases.

"13. Multiple purchases permitted, subject to the fo
llowing: (a) only one claim permitted per specified
    purchase requirement; and
    (b) each claim must be submitted in accordance with
    claim requirements."

hahaha is that poster cashing in on the nude celebrities thing? that's hilarious.

  • Just letting you know there's still about 20 cards left at the Nunawading store.. just bought a couple

    • Thanks for letting us know, I got the post unexpired. Mind posting receipt?

  • +1

Typical over priced item at Harvey Norman with an offer to suck you in.
You can buy 8GB micro Sandisk or other good named brand cards for around $5.

So you spend $20 & get a $25 cash back to spend on another overpriced item at Harvey Norman.

  • Can anyone confirm if other Harvey Normans are running this promotion?

  • It's trend Micro. You get a micro sims as well as the $25-30 back. Took the cautious approach, the expiry days on the anti virus is suspect.

  • Anyway did anyone by it already and put the claim for cash back immediately

  • +1

Went to Cairns store, scanned at $49.95. Showed pic and they weren't aware of the new cash-back, but offered to lower price to $30, I declined.
