TWO Logitech UE Boomboxes, (BONUS Headphones) $49.07 Delivered @ DSE eBay

730
CELEBRATE15

Credit goes to Trent86 for original deal, but I noticed that if you buy 2 from the Dick Smith Ebay store, its $4.95 shipping for both, and you can apply the ebay 15% coupon off as well bring it down to just shy of $50.

As pointed out, could easily be a price error, but worth a shot

EDIT: Just got off the phone with DSE online and they can't say if its an error or not. Might be worth a punt but remember, if it seems too good to be true…

I just posted to their FB wall as well, as I also only received the headphones. We should like and comment every single post regarding this issue, hopefully something will come out of it.

    • I would but the DSE posts are the only thing visible.

  • I too received my headphones today, no boombox though. I just called up and was on hold for 18 minutes on for it to ring and go straight to the engaged tone. :(. We will just have to wait and see.

    • Ijust got mine as well. headphone only too. Anyone has any update on ths issue please feel free to post.

  • +2

At least some of you are getting something. Still stuck on 'Awaiting Fulfillment'.

    • Same. Ordered via DickSmith.com.au rather than eBay.

  • i think the deal is legit, they immediately refund you if its an error…

    • Not really. "We tried to secure stock, no stock. Sorry. We have cancelled your order"

  • They did something similar recently with the Nikon Tough camera.
Lots sold, a week or so later, dee-dooom (fail noise)
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/160215
Hope you guys get them though (except for the 30 and 13 dickwads)

    • Just means no body knew how to or could be bothered forcing the issue either directly with Dick Smith, via the media, fair trading department or Q/VCAT.

      • The media? What like ACA? Seriously.. That's a kind of extortion.
"Give me free or massively discounted stuff or I'll cause all kinds of problems. Embarrass you, attempt to damage your brand etc etc."
They ran out of stock. It happens! They refunded everyone, apologized and then sent out $20 vouchers.
I think that's pretty fair and reasonably handled.

        • +1

How can telling public information which is factual be extortion?

I am not referring to running out of stock. That would be a completely different matter.

        • @not a bargain:
          Well, no boomboxes after all.
"the media, fair trading department or Q/VCAT."
          Looks like your on!

    • +3

      dee-dooom (fail noise)

      Isn't it Ba-Bow?

  • Got the headphones too. Waiting on the boom box. Will tell you if I receive it.

    • you probably end up with the headphones and a full refund.

  • Has anyone who ordered from ebay received anything (Product or eMail)? I haven't even received an email directly from DSE (only paypal/ebay).

  • It s just one day from the deal.We should wait few more days for dicksmith prepare the stock and send to us. Just calm down and waitting.they post the headphone really fast , i thinks they ll send out the speaker when it ready.

  • they sent me titanfall 360 version instead of xbox one :(

yippee! just received an email to say that the other part of the order (boombox) is ready for dispatch and will be sent!

now that guy who bought 30 won't feel so bad anymore…

    • Glad to hear that.i did not receve any yet.are you ordered on ebay or dick site

    • @dylzie
Care to share the email wording? (And maybe the email address it came from too?)

Sounds positive, and I'm sure more than a few people here would appreciate it.

      • +7

        Got it from dick site

I basically told them I received and invoice with 2 boomboxes and 2 headphones but only received the headphones, when will the boomboxes be sent, to which this email reply was sent

        "Good evening,

Thank you for taking the time to email Dick Smith online.

In relation to your enquiry, please be informed that your remaining order is on separate shipments and it is ready for dispatch.

Delivery information will be provided via automated email upon dispatch from the warehouse.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

If you have any further inquiries please do not hesitate to contact us on 1300 366 644 or via email ([email protected])."

        email address was [email protected]

        • That sounds very positive.

I received an email thanking me for my query and stating they were investigating the order and would keep me posted.

Fingers crossed I get an email similar to yours tomorrow!

        • @taggis:
          Same here.

        • good news :)

        • @taggis:

wait so its best to try email them? xD

  • The plot thickens….

It appears my post to DSE's Facebook page has been removed. I was under the impression that FB business pages cannot remove a consumer's wall posts. I will be reposting shortly.

    • Have they removed your or just disabled them completely?

      • It was removed, but now it appears that all posts have been disabled. I sent them a private message explaining things, they should be getting back to me today.

        • +1

Hope they do but don't hold your breath. I'm up to 1.5 days without a proper reply.

  • +1

I just received a response via PM, they disable their wall outside of business hours as it is not monitored.

  • No news on the eBay front for me, haven't had any updates since purchase.

    • Same here, bought it from ebay no updates yet, but spoke with them yesterday and told to wait till this week.

  • +2

It's all a bit quiet on the Dick smiths front today. Everybody eagerly waiting for a reply from them to see how they are going to deal with this situation.

    • +3

Is it calm before a storm or just a storm in a cup?

  • +4

I just wish they would explain what is happening with the unfulfilled orders. Their customer service really is absolutely awful.

  • Ok so I just called Dick Smith Online and they have confirmed the above, that I will receive another email between 24 to 48 hours with another consignment number. The Boomboxes are shipped out separately to the earphones.

    • Sweet. Thanks for sharing

    • Thank you for sharing, very encouraging indeed

what's next action, aside from negative ebay feedback

    • Also bought from ebay, got the same thing. How many did you buy?

      • i bought 2 units

  • Bought from eBay, just got this response:
If you guys are getting orders filled from their online store, I will not be happy if buying on eBay means I won't get it.

    Edit: posted above

  • I bought from the DSE site and got the same email too…

We have sent you a set of Logitech UE4000 Headphones whilst processing this order. As a gesture of good will we will not require you to return these.

On the bright side you get a free set of headphones?

      • Yep I just got email.
        Free headphones :)

  • Same.. Oh well.
We are writing to advise that due to a pricing error with our Dick Smith eBay listing, we are unable to fulfill your order for the Logitech UE Wireless BoomBox and UE4000 headphones pack

Is this worth of a neg on ebay?

On DSE website, under T&C 4.1:
We reserve the right to refuse to fill any orders that you may have placed based on information on the Site that may contain errors or inaccuracies, including, without limitation, errors, inaccuracies or out-of-date information regarding pricing, shipping, payment terms, or return policies.

Oh, and no headphones arrived, no gesture of goodwill.

    • +5

If you keep the headphones and receive a full refund then I don't think they deserve a negative vote.

    • +4

Those aren't the terms and conditions which are agreed to when purchasing from their eBay store :D

      • Valid point - terms on Ebay purchase seem quite different to online store, screenshot saved…

    I got the same email.

awesome! free UE4000s! that's a bargain in my opinion!

  • Just got this email, ordered from site:

Oh well. Can't win em all.

  • +1

Got the same cancelled order message.

I'll have a problem with this if some orders are being fulfilled and others are cancelled.. that would not indicate a 'pricing error'

    • My thoughts exactly.
ACCC wouldn't appreciate those business traits.

  • Yeap just got the same email, a refund and free headphones is OK but if the Boombox got delivered that would have been heaps better.

    • I also want the boombox if they can fulfill the order. Bought a ue4000 few week ago.
      :(

  • I got 2 headphones for free? :') . It must call super mega deal. Feeling sorry for the guy who ordered 30. He must be mad of dicksmith now.

    • You never know. He may have received 30 free headphones?

Anyway I also received this email and I already have the headphones ready to be picked up at my local post office. So I can't complain.

      • Unlikely, I got the same "form letter" as other Ebay purchasers - and they hadn't sent anything. At least those who purchased via DSE site got some free headphones.

        • +1

I ordered via the site, order still at processing, no dispatch notifications

  • +1

Guess I have to write the legal type complaint letter, letting them know that the next stop is QCAT, plus a referral to Office of Fair trading and the ACCC.

I also really hate it that there is no option to reply to their email to keep a proper chain of messages. The only option appears to be via an online form. I have requested the email address that should be used.

    • I'm with you all the way. This is not the first time this has happened and Dick shouldn't be allowed to keep on getting away with this…

  • +3

i got no headphones and just a cancelled email so i reckon you guys who got headphones should be happy anyway :)

  • To the people who got the headphones. Did you buy from the DSE website?

    • I got nothing and bought from the site.

    • I bought from dick site.

    • +1

Bought (1) from dicksmith.com.au 15/9 9.34am, based on the old bargain posted, not this one.

Received headphones only. (White - as ordered)

No email or phone call received - not cancellation/refund/keep-headphones/boombox-on-the-way. Nothing. (Nor have I contacted them)

      • Ditto.

Mine is Blue & ordered at 11 am.

Edit: scratch that, got the email. :(

  • +1

Yep - no headphones and no boombox for me.

    • Same here…

  • +1

I just received a phone call at 4:30pm from some lady at Dick Smiths stating that they will be sorting it all out and that it should be alright, mind you, this is 18 minutes after I got the email about the cancellation. So I got no idea what is going on here.

    • What time did you purchase and have you got your headphones?

      • I purchased them from the Dick Smiths online store, like 5 minutes after the Ebay deal sold out , and yes I did get my headphones the next day actually.

Paypal says I made the Payment at 11:54am that day.

    • eBay or their online store?

      • Online store

  • -4

If they are cancelling the orders I will be livid and intend on escalating the matter with the full force of the law. They shouldn't be able to get away with this with impunity especially seeing as they've already taken our money and therefore technically a contract has been entered into.

    • OK but I don't think you can complain if you get a free headphone(s), can you?

      • I didn't receive any headphones

    • +3

There is a provision under ACL to protect retailers who make genuine pricing errors, including where the item has been paid for online.

My advise is not to waste your time, and enjoy the free headphones (which I think is a generous offering, even if they are purple!). After all, if you were to believe Yatango, they are worth $150!

      https://yatango.com.au/shopping/logitech-ultimate-ears-ue-40…

      • +1

Is it a genuine pricing error though?

As KentT already pointed out these have been previously on sale for $47.07

        • +1

Could be they had the stock of headphones, but not of the rest of it.

If they don't have any Boomboxes, what do people expect will happen apart from refund?

    • +2

"If they are cancelling the orders I will be livid and intend on escalating the matter with the full force of the law."

      Yeah, I don't think you will. It's $35. Judge Dredd won't come a-running.

This kind of thing is sorted with refund + negative ebay feedback.

    • +7

Everyone knew that there was a high possibility that this was a pricing error and you would not receive your speaker.

Read the OP…. that even says possible pricing error.
I knew it, you knew it, everyone knew it. If they delivered it would have been a miracle. Unfortunately for everyone that has purchased, they have realised their mistake and are refunding.

Some peoples right to entitlement on here is appalling.

      • -3

It's the principle of the matter and the fact that Dick Smith has shafted consumers again and again without being held accountable
When do you draw the line, and say "enough is enough"?

        • If you don't like them, then just don't buy from them

        • -1

I didn't say that did I? I said that they should be held accountable

  • @dylzie - So DSE flipped their story on you too?

    • Yeah, just let me have the headphones, with no speaker. Such a d*ck…

  • I got the same cancellation email, full refund and free headphones, MEGA deal indeed, can't complain…

  • My order also got cancelled and I received no headphones :(

  • I received the same email. Has anyone received a confirmation to say the boombox is on its way as a separate delivery?

  • Lol, free headphones. Not too bad after all I guess… Now, I wonder what's better. These or Sennheiser 218i which I got in another Dick Smith deal about 12+ months ago lol….
