      Note to buyers/sellers FAQ + An extra 2% Cash-back

Do not forget to claim your extra 2% cash back by Cash Rewards: click here

      Buyers:

The coupon code does not go live till Sunday 10am EST. This means no one knows the coupon code till this time. On Sunday, the coupon code will be in a banner on the home screen, in the terms and conditions here on eBay, and here on OzBargain.

You can buy the items now. The 4 previous eBay deals have allowed you to purchase any item before the sale became active and still obtained the discount. Once you purchased the item, do not pay yet, and wait for the coupon code that comes live on Sunday 10am. Checkout, and apply the code to receive the discount.

      Sellers:
These deals do not affect your store, or transactions. You will receive full payment of the total amount invoiced, and the discount applied will be taken care of by eBay. They pay the discount out of their own pocket.

      How the sale usually works:
eBay subsidises the payment of the discount. So for people questioning exclusions like Apple products that are usually excluded in sales. These items should not be excluded as Dicksmith does not take that 20% discount directly, eBay pays for that 20% discount. Unfortunately DSE doesn't have any Apple products listed on eBay, yet….

      • jsut wonder how do we know if 2% will be applied to the cart?

        • The additional 2% is done by the third party source which is cash rewards. After 3-4 days you will receive an email confirming the cash back amount.

The 2% doesn't come off in eBay.

        • 2% is Cash Rewards, it will not show up on your eBay transaction. It's separate.

edit: lol Moots posted same time. Delete this one?

Hi there, just to clarify, the big partner sellers go into a meeting every month to plan their moves. "Big Partners" being those with store fronts like DSE, OO, OZ-Plaza/OZ-Auction. As far as I know, many company's are represented by their CEO's (Although DSE might not send their CEO).

I assume the agreement for the 20% would go something like 15/5 or 10/10, because it's part of the promotion deal. Hence you see some stores raising the prices during these focused sales.

For the store wide and category wide sales, eBay foots the whole bill. (Although please remember eBay+PayPal charges 6-10% depending on your store volume, so they are only footing 5-9% of the bill).

Again assuming logically, the larger stores have even better rates from eBay and PayPal.

So this goes live Thursday 2nd October, not Sunday right?

      • +1

        you forgot something.

        How the sale usually works:
Even though ebay take the 20% out of their pocket. Dicksmith often increase the prices just when the discount becomes active, to either popular or on sale products. Which in this case, would increase prices to a range about 5-15% more. If an item is getting more sales than expected, they will further increase the price range.

  • Does it matter I did not put the post in a category, as it covers the whole dick smith ebay store?

  • +4

  • +7

Anyone yet to get console like me, is this the time??

    • +1

      i want a ps4 hopefully good price

      • Don't appear to be any decent bundles available. Yet.

        • +2

What kind of bundles are likely to come out?

        • +2

          @botftw:
          GTA 5 would be nice

    • thinking the same thing!!! so tired of looking around on gumtree/waiting for bundles to pop up. picked up fifa 15 for $49 on DSE today + ps4 20% would be a pretty sweet deal!

    • I asked myself the same thing. Then I thought "Maybe I should hold out for a better deal". Then I remembered I've been saying that to myself for the last 4 months. Then I clicked on BUY NOW.

  • About time for a PS4?

    • +2

Well price should go back up to $548 from tonight so it would end up $438

      • +7

What about buying now and paying later?

        • That should work

        • If the price of the product changes the it is usually removed from your cart.

      • +1

does the 2% cash back work on the ps4?

        • Cash Rewards 2 % cashback works on all items at eBay

  • What do guys recon are good buys for this Deal? In terms of electronics such as phone, laptops, tablets etc

    • There aren't really any good phones to buy on the dse ebay site bar the SGS5 But that's way over that other stores charge. The Samsung Tab S tablets are meant to be pretty good

  • I need a new mobile. Scared off from the Nexus 5's due to ease of cracked screens. LG G3, or something else….

    • Really? Touch wood, I bought mine at release still going strong, workmate did however drop his on a curb which did crack the screen due to the way it landed.

As opposed to everyone I know cracking their s3 screen, all 7 or 8 of them…

      • As opposed to everyone I know cracking their s3 screen

        Same, they were shockers IMHO…

      • +5

        Touch wood

Why aren't we using wood phones?!

      • +9

I'm still on an S2 with a Spigen cover. It just won't die.

        • me too, i even bought mine 2nd hand.
Although it's not entirely smooth sailing…
The clipboard fills up every now and then and when I try cut/paste the phone resets…
and the error dump log fills up hundreds of Mb of storage space if you let it.

          other than that, good phone

    • +2

There is nothing to be scared about glass breaking, its the same gorilla glass in most smart phones, the only reason to stay away is the new phones coming out that are substantially better, the G3 is good, the new Moto X will be out soon, and wait for phones coming out with the Snapdragon 805

  • +4

If they apply the pebble price drop (likely?) then there good be a great deal for a further 20% off.

    • +2

      We can dream…

  • Do they sell macbook air? My cousin was looking for one. I went to their store in Ebay, but could not find any. Can someone please confirm?

    • +2

Correct, a lot of Apple stuff they have on the DSE website but not Ebay sadly.

      • +1

        That makes sense. Good pickup.

I don't believe DSE controls pricing for Apple products, so if there's no Apple products on the eBay store then it's no problem.

    • +1

It's pretty rare for a DSE sale not to include '*excludes Apple products'.

Yet there isn't mention of any Apple products not being included on the T&Cs, so you may be in luck.

It's possible your cousin may be able to get a nice deal, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Apple products are not included in the sale.

      • +1

I was hoping Macbook Pro was included!!!!
Anyone knows of a good deal going at the moment???

        • +2

I am confident that eBay and PayPal substidise the payment of the 20% off meaning it comes out of eBay's pocket. There shouldn't be any reason why apple products would be excluded as long as Dicksmith receive the full amount of the item.

DSE doesn't have Apple products on eBay

        • +1

@Moots: thanks..keeping fingers crossed!!! By any chance would you know if there is any decent deal going on at the moment. I think till Monday DickSmith had 10% off..[Missed it]

        • @Moots: Bugger!!!!

        • @nickskewl: The Good Guys have 10% off Macs until Monday 6 October.

        • @nickskewl: And JB HiFi has 10% off Macs until Sunday 5 October now too.

  • +1

Just added a note about postage at $4.95 for most items.

  • A lot of the items are already 20% off right now - is there an additional 20% off tomorrow or has sale started early?

  • +1

Fifa15 is $39.20 in page but $67.98 when checkout

  • +39

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/16GB-microSDHC-Memory-Card-/26161… What a steal, hope they don't jack the price up before Sunday.

    • +5

anybody got a grand to spare to see if they will honour this pricing error? :P

    • +9

Says in description: "UHS-I Class 10 NOT FOR SALE". Because clearly DSE doesn't know how to end and relist listings…

      • +2

        ahahahahahahahahaha omg!

  • +1

With the items on sale already - are we able to buy now and pay tomorrow when the coupon comes active? I know the previous sales you could do this. Sorry just out so can't check with support myself.

    • +1

I in all honesty don't think eBay has the system to not allow this. Their settings for the coupon I assume are limited so being this method has been used 4 previous sales. You can go ahead and buy now and it should worth 10am.

  • +5

Hmmm there isn't much I want from the ebay DSE store compared to their normal store.
The Seiki 65' TV is priced over $1k… I have a slight suspicion that someone has been ordered to play around with their prices, so basically you end up with the end result compared to all the 5%, 8%, $15 off etc etc promos they have running.

    • Price gone up to $1,899..

    • My Seiki 55" was delivered today for $474. The 65" was $789 delivered.

      • How is it?

        • Haven't unboxed it yet as I'm planning on wall mounting it. I noticed that the 20% off $686.25 reflects the exact price DSE had it for a "sale" price last week - that is $549.

        • Brilliant

  • +43

Watch the dick grow by 20%

  • +7

Most stuffs have been raised back to their "regular" price. Thus , looks like 20% off is just another normal sale.

  • Hi Guys, what's the discount code for this offer? I read the t&c but can't find it. Please help. Thanks.

    1. Maximum discount of $600 per transaction.

Oh boy, time for tv in my bedroom.

    • +2

unless they jack up tv prices

      • I hope not, if they do, it wont be any cheaper then buying elsewhere!

I've got my eyes on the KDL50W800B

    • u should get a genuine seiko

      • I'm tempted to get a seiki, but ive just read some bad stuff while trying to look for a review.. the price is damn good though.

        • +1

Other than what's on here (mostly positive), I found it nearly impossible to find information and reviews on the 55". What did you uncover Kim?

        • @ilikeit:

nothing, mostly found weird us models.. although i do remember there was a bit of hype about them being available in australia, but i think it was mostly the 4k range though.

        • +1

@KimTaeyeon: I could only find 4k model info. People on here seem positive about them though.

        • @ilikeit:

yeah from what i saw, they look really good.. but i dont think ill be getting one at the moment though

      • +2

        seiko
