  • Decent value.

  • It doesn't mention anything about optical drive… Is it Blu-ray as other site had it? or just dvd if so what type of DVD? Burner? +DL supported? please answer

    • He's not a rep (or at least not listed as one).

It's a DVD Burner, as listed on the link. It'll support DL.

  • Looks good for that price

  • As a side note:
    Consulting the link http://www.msi.com/html/popup/win7/nb_list.html
This model is not available for free Windows 7 upgrade.

  • +1

I'd rather get this. Expect a queue at your local Aldi tomorrow. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/16283

  • And for reference, I think this is the official product page: http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=135&ca…

Don't think this is for me as I am still making do with my 3.5 yr old Toshiba 17", though at times I have wished it had more power AND better battery life (which is down to 15 mins life now - anyone know of a good place to buy replacement laptop batteries?)

As for this deal, on price vs features alone, plus the fact that it's MSI (and not Aldi/Medion), then I'm giving it a +ve.

    • You can always try Ebay, the prices are certainly quite reasonable, I've never bought a laptop battery there but all the phone & discrete cells I've gotten off Ebay have been fine, esp for the $$$! ;)

  • Beware the integrated graphics is fairly weak sauce, slower than an 8600M GS and closer to a 9300M G/GS. The video card in the Aldi laptop should be a few notches faster.

    • I thought it's dedicated graphics, or not?
      256MB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD3470 graphics card

      • It is. So is the 8600M, it's just better.

      • Blah, a typo, definitely dedicated, I meant something along the lines of 'included' not integrated, sorry for the confusion. Too late to edit.
