Same same. I might change my capsule booking to a Hilton booking instead!

  • "Requested rate is not available" - Conrad Seoul. Coupon code is PR50JR for room and PR50JB for +breakfast

Could not do anything after Jan 15' :( Guess Hilton for me in March

  • Do they charge cancellation fee? I chose the easy cancellation option and the room rates doubled.

My room in Okinawa is no cancel, no refund.

    • i just booked a hotel using the special rate, it clearly said no refund.

  • Bit of a rip off if you ask me. Except for Friday nights you can get pretty nice double/queen bed hotel rooms in Tokyo for 6,000-7,000 JPY. That's for the room, not per person. And cheaper in other parts of Japan of course.
Great deals but you have to book at least one night in advance.

    • My Okinawa room came down to about $130 for two nights for the room. Was about the best i found considering booking.com was about the same lower quality. But yes all the other Hilton places are expensive around christmas time. Will try your site.

It might be a bit of a challenge for some, but the Japanese version of Jalan web site and mobile app has more hotels and cheaper prices.
      http://www.jalan.net/
One strategy might be to switch between English and Japanese to find the hotel/price you want. Or use google translate rather than the Jalan English site.

You can usually get a good hotel in Tokyo or Yokohama with a double bed for 5,000-7,000 JPY (except on Friday and Saturday nights).

  • travelpony still works out cheaper for me booking Conrad tokyo on 5/12 - 8/12 with coupon codes : TPSAVINGS and SCARY8

  • those are cheap for niseko and fukouka! absolute bargain to see the autumn leaves in Nov

  • 'This hotel has limited availability for Promotion/Offer code PR50JB around the dates you have selected.'
Got excited for a Niseko stay during snow times, let down :(.

  • What's the difference between "room only" and "bed and breakfast"? Sorry never book a hotel before. Thanks

    • +1

"bed and breakfast" includes buffet breakfast

  • I found price for some nights are cheaper with Hilton site compared to HotelClub, ratestogo or booking.com. Should it be the other way around? Thanks

  • Hey guys

Just tried Con Tokyo, Hilton Tokyo, Hilton Tokyo bay but can't do 6th November - 12th November?

    Anyone done around that time?

    • Oh never occurred to me it could be booked out lol

  • cant get anything in tokyo between 25th and 1st dec :(

  • Well this is perfect. I recently booked flights to HK, South Korea and Japan, leaving in under a month. Good timing!

Edit: Except most places in SK and Japan seem booked over than period already…

  • Hilton Tokyo in Feb 15 showing as Y23000 per night for 2 including b'fast.

  • I'm staying a lot more downmarket in Tokyo for $160/wk for room in 4 bed apartment, with WiFi etc. Business hotel in Osaka last year was $16/n. Super(market) 10 minutes walk through old pedestrian area had tasty whole crab for $5.

May not have the luxury, but it means I meet the locals. Woman at least in her 70's showed me around 1 day, paying for 2 local shows & a meal. Performed traditional comedy (in English) after a free workshop & appeared on TV! People came up to me in the streets after that. Much better experiences / memories than another hotel room. But each to their own :-)

    • Could you tell me how to book those apartment?

    • +1

how did you book it? airbnb?

    • Yes please to be explaining this.

    • He booked it through a website called BS.

Ah, the voice of ignorance ;-)
/ˈɪɡn(ə)r(ə)ns/ lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact
        But then joeno loves negs

We all need ignorance to be able to learn :-)

But, ignorance is always a good starting point, but never a good destination.

Like many things - it's all down to contacts & experience.

Booked the room in the appartment (above a cafe) through a hotel manager I got to know on a trip to Tokyo just after the big earthquake. (I was about the only person in the hotel, so had long chats with the manager.) Just sent him an email. It will be basic (no TV in bedroom - that I never watch, but can watch NHK World in English etc with app on tablet via free WiFi in room), but cheap, with common areas like lounge, kitchen, bathroom shared.

Osaka business hotel was through hostelworld.com - so more downmarket but clean accommodation in own room including TV, with use of common room & kitchen. Bathrooms are shared. I've posted about it before in Jetstar deals to Japan.

Airbnb have apartments at a higher rate - check reviews first. Saw over one in Osaka last year. Stayed in fantastic 1859 convict built cottage in Hobart for $34/n double with light breakfast this year. Note Airbnb charges an additional fee based on rental amount.

Outside the biggest cities, a chat with English speaking staff at tourist information centres usually gains good cheap traditional Japanese Guest Houses from around $35/n with screens you pull back to view the formal garden.

I'd rather save my money for more travelling & eating interesting food with locals. But a bit of luxury is good. Pity I can't justify a few nights at the Hilton - it's still a bit dear for me :-(

Pity different experience here seems to just attracts negs :-(

      • Thank you.

        Every one is different.

      • I think really what we wanted is the name of the place in Tokyo so we could book it. Do you have this?

  • The website and deal is confusing. It says i can get a room for as little as $X after discount. However I can't find anything close to $X and usually it's twice that amount (almost like i didn't get a discount in the first place).

  • Take note that the pricing on the promo page is the price based on 2 people, per person per night. So you would need to double those prices to get a per room rate. It's pretty dodgy marketing but seems common outside Australia.

Plus you then need to add 10% and 8% taxes.

  • Thanks for the heads up OP. Decided to splurge and get 2 weeks in Shinjuku Tokyo for my honeymoon next year. Now just need Jetstar to do some specials from Adelaide!

  • A tip for those visiting Tokyo & interested in taking a tour of the Imperial Palace grounds

Applications open 5am Tokyo time 1st of preceding month (tomorrow for December). November is booked out. No booking necessary for East Gardens. Most Kyoto Imperial sites are easier to arrange.
