FREE Express Post 500g Bag by Registering with MyPost Deliveries & For A MyPost Card

3980

MyPost Deliveries is a new service from Australia Post that lets you choose exactly where your parcels get delivered — be it your work address, parcel locker, local post office or the house of a family member. Best of all, the service is free.

You can then choose when and where you receive your parcels when you shop online. Handily, you can set up multiple addresses on your MyPost account and change the delivery point for specific parcels.

You can register for the free service via the aforementioned MyPost website or by visiting your local post office. As an added bonus, Australia Post is giving away a 500 gram Express Post satchel worth $10.55 when customers sign up for a Parcel collection ID card (MyPost card.)

    Beware!

Fees and charges will apply to carriers other than Australia Post and StarTrack to lodge parcels under the Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect (Post Office) services. This cost may be passed on to customers.

Please note: Australia Post will accept domestic and international parcels from other carriers into our Parcel Lockers, if those parcels have been lodged by the carriers as Australia Post articles addressed to the recipients' Parcel Lockers.

StarTrack is a subsidiary of Australia Post, and parcels carried by StarTrack will be accepted for delivery into Parcel Lockers. We have informed other carriers of our new policy and it is up to the carrier to decide if they wish to pay to deliver to the Parcel Lockers. Where possible, customers are advised to check which shipping partners or parcel delivery provider/s are available on the website they're buying from.

Not so sure if I really want to risk extra fees, a lot of sellers use different courier companies…

Wow good catch, many companies use a variety depending on size and location. No way of ever knowing.
This could really kill it. There should not be random fees.

just doing this for the free express post bag.

no chance in hell that i'll actually use this service. there is too much of a chance that they'll stuff it up and lose your package. they need to get the basics right, then i'll start trusting them with these newer services.

    • +1

Practically it seems like no other carrier will be using these lockers (mainly because it gives Startrack an unfair advantage, no fee for them). Thus, if you are lucky, the online store will reject the address. If you are unlucky, there will be an administrative tag of them realise the courier won't deliver and trying to get a new address.

Oh, and once N% of the population have one of these accounts, you just KNOW it will be used as an excuse as to why they don't actually have to deliver for anyone, "since the demand isn't there".

And they will end up charging you by the hour for these ("to incentivise swift collection")

  • Will we still get the "500 gram Express Post satchel" if we apply online?

    • It sounds like they'll mail it along with the card.

Awesome deal! Hoping to receive my Express Post sachet.

Lets all send each other random shit to celebrate! :D

  • Is this Express Post satchel just like one of those you can usually buy at the post office? Or will it be filled with goodies like a gift bag? :D

    • it'll be stuffed full of more Express Post satchels.

So how do I redirect this welcome pack they are posting to me, using My Post, which I just signed up to?

  • -1

has the Aust Post website been hacked? I am seeing all these link on the website "Click to continue > by cheapdeals", redirecting to weird scam looking sites :/

    • +4

Working fine here. Perhaps it's your own web browser that's been hacked in the form of a browser hijack.

  • I already have a MyPost account from before. After I tried adding a new collection point the page refreshes back to MyDeliveries page, I didn't get a new collection address. Address book doesn't show new address either. Website still buggy.

Also the Deliveries portion of the website uses email to login, whereas the Digital Mailbox portion uses username. Inconsistent and confusing.

Overall, idea is good but the website is not quite there yet.

Edit: I got the Parcel Collect address emailed to me, it doesn't get added to your MyDeliveries address book automatically.

    • Same thing when I tried to add a collection point. So basically signed up for a mypost card but cannot get one for a parcel locker?

Very poorly executed website. Lost details, no confirmations, etc. etc. Doesn't look like it went through proper testing before general release.

it wont recognise my address as real. it keeps saying please enter you residential address and not you po box

    • +1

When you apply for an ID card this is fairly standard (esp. as PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers are the number one delivery destination for credit card fraud online purchases)

    • Negged ya

Signed up for this a few days before the OP posted the deal and got the welcome pack in the mail today. It comes in a standard DL envelope and the Express Post bag is folded up into a square in case anyone wants to know. :)

    • +3

Damn, was hoping for triangular folding. Oh well, free is free.

I don't need the satchel but I do need the mypost card to collect my parcel. so no more showing my license or my letters. they don't have to know how I look like few years ago:P

  • +1

Has anyone received their welcome pack / card yet?

I signed up on 5/11 and so far nothing.

    • +1

6/11 here and nope nothing yet. Obviously coming via snail mail.

      • Are you sure you didn't mean "Obviously coming via Australia Post?"

        • +1

          One and the same.

  • +2

Postman came today and still no welcome pack yet. At least they could have sent the welcome packs by express post i mean Australia Post owns their own delivery network not like it costs them really much at all.

  • +1

If I register for the parcel collect service, does that mean that parcel's will be no longer delivered to my address but to the location I have nominated when signing up for an auspost account?

    • +1

You are in control of where each parcel goes. For example, if you are ordering a little $2 plug from eBay coming from China and you know it will fit in your letterbox and won't be carded, you can just use your normal home address during checkout on eBay.

If you are ordering something bigger, you can put in the address for your parcel collect at the local post office.

      It's in the format of:

      Fistname Lastname
      Parcel Collect 12345 67890
      123 Post Office Address Rd,
      Suburb State 1234

So basically whatever address you put in when ordering is where it will go.
