Combine this with the AMEX offer you will get $50 back - so price will be $399.

However if you want to do some extra legworks, you can save even more. Here are some hints…

  1. In store price is $499 today and I believe it will be $449 tomorrow (Super Saturday). However They will most certainly match the online price if you try it today (I succeeded). Please call your local store to confirm it first.

  2. Woolworths is currently having gift card promotion. Eventually you can buy 2 X $50 Myer Gift for $90 by using your EDR card… even less if buy the gift cards with ING or discounted Woolworths gift cards through RACQ/RACV.
    Important: buy one $50 Myer Gift card first and scan your EDR card. Then buy the second $50 gift card in a different transaction and you will get $10 discount when use the same EDR card. The gift cards get activated instantly.

  3. If you have a second EDR card - repeat Step 2 and save at least another $10.

  4. If applicable - use the Dan Murphy Gift cards from AMEX deals - to buy the Myer Gift cards.

  5. If applicable - use the Myer digital gift cards from previous Scoopon deals… I wish they released the Myer gift cards more sooner from this weeks deal

  6. Don't forget TRS (if you are travelling overseas in near future) and Myer points.

In a nutshell - it will cost you $389 or less if you can mange to buy it in-store (combining AMEX and Woolworths deal).

    Just to give you an example - the iPad I bought today will cost me $287 if I am doing my maths correctly. However this is not applicable to everybody…

    Paid $450 (I voluntarily paid $1 extra) with $250 using AMEX and $200 using Myer Gift cards
    Minus $50 (AMEX for spending $250)
    Minus $50 (Used DM Gift card I used to buy first the $50 Myer Gift Card @ Woolworth)
    Minus $12 (Second $50 Myer gift card cost me $38: $10 from EDR credit and $2 for discounted $40 wish card)
    Minus $1 (for the third $50 Myer gift card using ING 2% cashback and bonus now have $10 EDR credit)
    Minus $50 (Scoopon gift cards from previous deals)

    Now time to find cheap flight deal to get the TRS back :)

      I did something like that recently. I've accumulated a few gift cards from surveys I do etc. My mother always buys expensive make up from myer and so I said that I'd pay for it.

      Total was a little over $200, and used $150 worth of giftcards. Paid the $50 in cash and mom was stoked!

      You can easily get $200 (4 X $50) Myer Gift cards for $180 (or less) if you have 2 EDR cards.
      Then use AMEX for another $250 and get $50 back - total $380

    ANZ cards also might get $20 voucher back for spending $400 using anzrewards Partner Offers - unless the relevant AMEX vs ANZ systems are smart enough to recognise???

      I bought one gift card and loaded with $250 credit using AMEX issued card that I had the offer connected to but didn't get any confirmation saying an eligible purchase has been made and I would get the statement credit.I did get such email when used the same card to take advantage of Good Guys cash back offer immediately after purchase. In short, Gift Cards are excluded from cash back offer. Myer systems are smart enough to differentiate Gift Cards and other goods.

        I think it may just take a while for AMEX to send their confirmation emails when purchases are made at Myer because I made a purchase of $250 at Myer this morning using my registered AMEX card and haven't received an email yet…the always seem to come through straight away with other retailers.
        I'm hoping so anyway :)

    Nice one OP.

    How about double dipping on points?
    i.e. instead of just paying $250 using your AMEX, buy a Myer gift card (or Coles Myer) worth $250 to get points on your AMEX (and get the $50 rebate), then pay with the gift card and scan your Myer one card.

    Also note that whether you're able to use a DM gift card, or any gift card for that matter to buy another gift card is highly dependent on your luck with who ends up assisting you (even through self checkout), because I believe they're supposed to check what payment method you use to purchase another gift card.
