    • This happens to other online alcomohol businesses too, not just Safeway. I tried to track down a carton of beer from Dan Murphys for in store collection, but they only had packs or individual bottles scattered around Victoria.

    had mine delivered in sydney this morning
    they forgot some soft drinks and when i called to complain they issued $10 voucher for my $4.70 worths of drinks missing
    as i paid the order using $20 e-gift voucher i received from rewardscentral (good old emailcash), we only paid something like $6 using our credit card
    all in all, we were effectively paid some money to do this round of shopping

      You can get a refund by gift card mailed out to you after 7-10 business days. You'll probably have to talk to several staff members before they agree to do this.

      Yes it is a pain in the clacker getting a refund when you pay by gift card. Usually takes me 10 minutes of whinging before they refund me on my card or send out another gift card. I now pay by credit card as it is too much hassle getting a refund on gift card.

    • this has happened to me before, they issued store credit and then i asked for a refund and they mailed out a gift card. takes 2 weeks to arrive in the mail.

    • I had this issue. After much complaining, they will refund to a gift card if the value is over $5. In my case, it was under, so significantly more complaining was required.

    I received all mine. Asked the delivery guy and he said he is busy as hell. Running behind too. I am just wondering how are these people making any money. It works out so much better buying online.

    Example i got a 1.2kg woolies brand chicken. Paid $2.40 after discount. Received 1.7kg chicken. That's $1.40/kilo.

    Paid for 1kg onions and got 2kg instead.

    Paid for lamb forequarter chops and got loin chops.

    Order got cancelled, they said "temporarily out of stock". They said they will refund the amount BEFORE the discount (I thought, yay atleast I get some extra money). Checked bank account, I got back exactly what I paid. Dodge as fudge!

    Just got my items delivered (VIC) but am missing 2 items - from what I can see on the invoice I paid $26.73 and am being refunded $26.73? ('A refund has been raised and is on it's way back you') - What does this mean???

  • Anyone else still waiting on an order (originally scheduled for this morning) to be delivered? My original delivery time frame was 8 am - 11 am, and has been updated to 3.30 pm - 4.00 pm on the website. It's now 6 pm…

      The same thing happened to me last week, I received my order 6 hours later than the original timing. As long as it shows on the tracker and you haven't received an OOS email, you will eventually get it.

      Someone on the threads last week mentioned that because there were so many cases of beer involved in the delivery's, the trucks had to go back to the depot more frequently than they would have otherwise which was causing the delays.

      • Mine was scheduled for 4:00 to 7:00pm window then showed on tracking as due at 4:00 to 4:30pm he turned up about 4:05pm.

          It's 9 pm now, and still no order has arrived (still showing 3.30 pm on the tracker). No cancellation email, either. Looks like Woolies is really struggling.

          UPDATE: Just called the Woolies customer care line and entered my order number to track it via the automated service. The automated phone message then stated that the order has been cancelled. Not happy - this is pretty poor form from Woolies, as I've received no email, and the order is still showing as pending delivery (for 3 hours ago) on the tracker when I log in to my account. I wouldn't have minded if they'd sent a cancellation email or even updated the tracker online, thus stopping me from waiting around all day for the delivery.

          Perhaps Woolies are so overloaded today that they don't have the resources to notify people of cancellations and update their online systems?

        • @adelee: Whoa, I would contact them straight away & let them know. Their CS staff are exceptional & should be able to help out.

          @jdf: Just spent 20 mins on the phone to Chris @ Woolworths Customer Care. He advised me that my order had been cancelled due to multiple accounts / coupons on Sunday (Just for the record, I made one order only). He insisted that a cancellation email had been sent to me, and would not accept that one didn't come through to me (yes, I checked my spam folder). When I asked him why, then, the order was still showing in the tracker as pending delivery yesterday from 8 am - 11 am, and then was refreshed to 3.30 pm - 4.00 pm , he advised that the online tracker will still display pending order deliveries even when they've been cancelled! Not at all impressed - Woolies refused to re-deliver, and no apology when I advised that I'd wasted a day waiting for my cancelled order.

        • @adelee: That was very unpleasant. And how on earth can an order be pending delivery when it is cancelled. Once cancelled, it should go straight off the system. Did you login to check what had become of the order, although he could very well have cancelled it on the call.

          I'm sorry you had to go through that & waste your time. I knew this deal would be popular but not so much so that folks would create double digit number of orders!!……or maybe I was being naive to think they wouldn't. Unfortunately, I think it has tipped Woolies over the edge which is a bit unfortunate as with their Christmas offers they were giving something back to their customers.

          I gave them feedback that they should list the correct amount that they will refund on their out of stock emails, but they haven't changed that yet. EG. Buy $50 item with codes for $25. Get email saying item out of stock and $50 will be refunded, when in fact, $25 will be refunded. I'm not saying that the refund should be higher than what you paid, but their emails shouldn't contain false information.

      It takes 7 days from the end of the promotion offer for the points to show up. This can sometimes mean 2-3 weeks from the transaction date.

        Having said that, I once had 5 lots of bonus points points which didn't get credited to my account over a nine month period(I had to do a massive stocktake to find out which ones didn't credit). When challenged, Woolies credited them, but it was a pain.
