Been watching for another free shipping offer to get the Kogan price on this but as I'm heading overseas the TRS will bring this one down to $386 for local stock & warranty.
Hopefully others are in the same boat. For the camera price that is, not the overseas travel. I'll be on a plane.
You missed the two biggest features (IMO) of the mk3: the lens is now a 24-70 1.8-2.8 and it supports the XAVCS video codec (and has 120fps 720p, albeit very soft…).
Get the Mk3, especially as the mk1 doesn't come with the $150 voucher.

m2 & 3 made in china, I'm not saying they are bad.

No this camera takes way better pictures than a camera phone. My xperia z2 with its 20.7 mp camera doesn't come close to my rx100.

@ing, it's not the pixel sir, the image sensor of rx100 is bigger than common pocket camera or mobile phone's lens

Picture quality is not just about Megapixels… There are other factors such as lens, sensor and image processor.
Except this is not a low-mid end camera, nowhere near it! Read the gushing reviews from the professional photographers and those who love photography, this is the compact they bought to supplement/replace their SLR and lens collections.
Sony A7s is only 12MP but it takes amazing photos especially at night

Get a secondhand mk2 for ~$400 or buy mk3
mk2 and 3 are huge improvement from mk1 and are worth the extra price
not saying this is a bad deal but rx100 was sold for around $500 as a new model
I don't think it's really worth it.
mk1 -> mk2 = better image processing, tilting lcd screen, multi interface hot shoe, nfc, wifi remote controllability
mk2 -> mk3 = selfie capable 180 degrees tilting lcd screen, no mi hot shoe, viewfinder, better image processing
