  • I was at Bibra lake this morning picked up a trolley worth and did the double coupon stack. Epic deal , these hoses + decent retic and you're set for anything!

  • I looked at these this morning, nearly bought two, but decided I didnt like the hose. To narrow for my liking. Asked the staff what hose it was and was told it was a you beaut $60 one, but when I checked those hoses on the shelf it was substantially different. Im guessing the reel hoses have to be more flexible, so thinner walled. For one, the expensive hose has 3 yellow ribs that protrude from the hose running the length of it, the one in the reel has three yellow stripes mimicking those ribs. More over, it appeared to be a 10mm hose, not 12.5. The reel hoses walls were thinner, and while I didnt measure, it appeared the inside diameter was narrower. Still at $59 its a bargain, but not worth losing the quality hose I have so I passed.

  • I saw a man with 10 in the trolley at Hawthorn East.

Who dare to install on their front yard? All you need is a screw driver to remove.

  • +14

Probably the only time I'll have 3 ho's in the back seat of my car

    • +4

      and one in the boot

  • Thanks, OP. Bought the last two from Forrestdale, WA

  • Thanks OP, got 2 this morning from the South Morang Masters, after I have left, there was less than one palet left.

  • +1

Sold out Braybrook and Ravenhall Vic

  • none in western suburbs victoria, tried CAROLINE SPRINGS and BRAYBROOK - SOLD OUT.

If anyones willing to get one for me in the west, will pay $70 for you effort

  • Gregory Hills had 60 a hour ago, its hidden at the back of the store which is quite convenient unlike other stores, call and check stock level.

  • 8:05 this morning at Bayswater WA there were 7 pallets, and about half a dozen customers all with multiple hoses in their trolleys.

I spoke to a man with three in his trolley who was fuming that he'd paid $200 for the 20m version earlier that week, then he said 'fine, this'll show them' and put two more in his trolley. Lol.

At the self checkout I had no dramas entering the 10% discount code manually, while the self-checkout assistant was helping a couple with three hoses and assorted stuff put through with the 10% discount and had an array of EDR and giftcards to put trough too. I salute you!

    • Masters has a policy where you can go back in with your receipt and be refunded the discounted amount. Unlike Aldi.

  • Coomera has plenty. Outside the door. How convenient. Thanks op.

  • Went to the Keysborough store this morning around 11. All sold out :(

  • +1

Still about 20 left at Baldivis WA, running out fast thought

  • -1

Hoxton Park sold out fast, all gone by 7:30am

    • I got there at 8am and grabbed one from the front so they may have pulled out 1 or more pallets after that

      • I was told by staff it sold out as soon as the store opened..

        • I got there at 7:30 and there were 2 pallets at the front entrance. And possibly more inside.

        • I also got there at 7.30am and saw the two pallets. I also saw a pallet near the doors to the outdoor gardening area. The staff lied. There was one particular staff member who was disgruntled about how many complaints he would receive throughout the day because most stock had sold by 8am. I found him quite rude about it too.

        • @kimba88:

We get a lot of surly workers at our local Bunnings. What did management say when you reported the issue?

  • any more in Melbourne stores?????

  • +1

    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/hozelock-auto-reel.html

Don't know if the top review matters or not at $59.

    • If they didn't buy one how can they review it properly?

    • +2

bought one, agree with the review about small diameter. Seems good product otherwise. I need a minimum of 25m so it was a great price.

  • St Mary's were taking orders this afternoon. They had an extra 60 available so I paid for 2. Pick up early next week.

  • Sad to report the Hozelock I purchased this morning is faulty. The hose guide that is meant to move left and right to evenly distribute the hose on the drum, just sits on the left hand side. This means you can't recoil more than 4 or 5 metres of hose, as it just clogs up the drum in one corner.

Not sure what to do now, as I've drilled the brickwork and done all the hard work. I called the store and all they can do is offer me a refund, as there are none in stock. Any idea how warranty works on these things?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    • -1

ACCC compensation to get a tradie to fix up the brickwork + $100 masters voucher

    • Buy one a full price when they are available and return the broken one for a store credit?

      • Buy one a full price

Lady on the phone told me they'll only stock the 20m & 40m models after today, of which they have plenty at around the $200 mark.

        • @argonbay:

Thanks mate. Just shot off an email to them. I just want a new one :(

        • Would 20m be long enough for your garden? They should be willing to swap it over for one of those…

        • If I was headed down the swap for another model route, Id be asking them to swap it for the 30m or 40m or whatever it is, and charge the difference between the claimed RRP of the bargain, and the one selected as a replacement, if any charge is made at all.

Or as he has done, contact the manufacturer.

        • @team teri:
Just called the store again, and they won't budge. She said they got these as a special order, and by swapping with the 20m, they'd be making a loss.

Incredibly enough, she also said there was one other return yesterday as the hose wouldn't retract! Hopefully this isn't a widespread issue.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I'll just return it for a refund. I can't imagine the email I sent will be actioned anytime soon. I'll just have to wait for another special.

          All the best.

        • +2

          @tightarse:
If you're not desparate for a refund, wait for manufacturers reply. They can't repair/replace something you don't have.

        • @tightarse: The manufacturer's warranty only mentions repair or replacement as options, not refunds. They will have to stand by their product. So if you want the product rather than the money back and holes in your wall, just go via Hozelock.

        • @team teri:

Thanks. Decided to wait for a response. Will keep you posted.

        • Got the missus to return for a refund. Hozelock state none in stock, and this is my only option.

          Thanks for your input everyone.

        • @tightarse:

I spoke with one of my masters managers today about your issue, they said they should of at least made you happy and replaced it with a 30mtr version of equivalent on the spot!

Such a silly outcome you got =(

        • I wonder how they will handle all those 5 yr warranties then?

        • @Gomo:

Thanks, but not much I can do about it now. I'll just pretend I never saw this deal :)

        • @Tuba:

Ye, no idea. Hopefully they won't have to worry about it.

        • @tightarse:

=) All good! maybe next time ask to speak to someone higher up and explain your issue either that or live chat to Masters online !

        • @Gomo:

I may be getting one after all. If it comes through, I'll let you know. Cheers.

        • @tightarse:

Yep PM me about it I'm interested, so guessing you got your money back from masters but now your being sent one directly from the manufacture?

      Hi Ta,

      I will pvt message you.

      • +10

Over the moon right now. HunterOfBargains20 read my posts above and was able to arrange a brand new Hozelock for me to collect. He went way out of his way to help a fellow OzBargainer, and for that I'm forever grateful. Good karma to you my friend. Have a lovely Christmas :)

  • Any in Melbourne?

  • Bibra lake just restocked about 200 get in quick. About 5 pallets in a line running across the back left of the store as you walk in. Saw one dude with two trolleys full.

    • +6

As a sore loser who missed out, they really should've had a maximum limit people could buy.

  • -1

Look on this ebay posting - good profits.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/25m-Hozelock-Auto-Reel-Garden-Hos…

  • BEST VALUE EVER! Brand New NEVER USED, bought too many of these for a development project and they now MUST GO!

    • +1

    • +1

He's back coz he wanted youse off his back… http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/west-footscray/other-garden/b…

Also look at his receipt, trying to give a perception that one cost $265.50.

      • +2

not so smart username on gummie though!

      • $90 on Gumtree but $240 on Ebay?? how does that work? Pretty sure Smart is LeeLegend .

  • I bought two except I forgot to use the 10% off… Oh well! Still a good deal.

  • Hey guys,

Few left when I left tonight (I work inside the McDonalds inside Masters - Springfield)

    http://imgur.com/DeYBGLZ

If anyone is still after one head on over to Springfield Masters! :) Oh and come visit the Maccas while you in! :)

I purchased one today and I've opened up the box and tested out the unit to ensure it pulls out and retracts correctly as per TA disappointing news I can safely say this thing is dangerous if you let go of the hose while it retracts! haha.. no one was injured! so just make sure everyone is aware of this =)

Last day to use your 10% off coupon as well ends 14/12/14

Works out to be $ 53.10 after 10% off

    • Buy 3 @ 59 then 10% off coupon then $25 off coupon if you spend $150 or more. Ends up being $44.76 per unit. You can obviously knock yourself out with WISH/ING/TRS if you really like.

      • Ah Yes! heard about that extra $25 off with $150 spend, pretty interesting lol.. but these are pretty cheap as is.. =)

      • Lol, how many people will take this on a plane to claim back the GST?

        • +1

You never know what Ozbargainers will do ;) May as well put in there to save myself from being 1-uped…

  • Picked up the last one at Northlands, VIC.
Sales counter lady tells me that's the last one in VIC.

    • +1

      There's only 1 Northland.

    • when did you pick up the last one?

      • When I posted.

        • -2

BS, I was there 5pm yesterday, spoke to 2 different staff, one of which i pressed the assistance button and walked with her to the shelves. she again told me sold out, last one was taken hours ago (on Saturday) from the shelf, as in the display model.

        • +1

Would it help if I uploaded a receipt?

          http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/2638/27243/photo_15-12-…

Look at the date and time

          08:44hrs 14/12/14

I suspect you got bullshitted by the 2 staff.

        • @ofey: damn aholes!!! hmmmm

        • -4

@ofey: U FCKN NUMNUT @HOLE LIAR C@NT! YOU HAD RESERVED IT, YOU HAD YOUR NAME ON IT AND PICKED IT UP FROM THE SERVICE COUNTER THE DAY AFTER, I WAS INFORMED PERSONALLY FROM THE STAFF MEMBER THAT SERVED YOU! FHEAD!

          @JimmyBargain:

mate i understand, and they annoy me too.

why someone would make up lies & send others on wild goose chases is beyond me

        • @JimmyBargain:

          I didn't reserve anything.

I walked into the store and asked for one.
I picked up the last one.

You seriously have some anger issues don't you?
Having never met you before, you do make alot of assumptions about me.
First you got done by the staff there and then when I tell you that you turn on me?

Seriously, see someone about your problems before you lose control.

  • i just checked at northland, south morang and roxburg park..they were sold out

  • I think theres a reason why Masters or Bunnings never sold the 25mtr…….a special buy they say, I think the troubles will start soon once its used. Smaller hose, and I thinks its still made in Asia like the cheap Hoselink crap.
    Anyway, time will tell
    Merry Xmas

    • +1

I thought Hoselink was good? I didn't know it was made in China.

      • TIL Hoselink is made all over the world!

Q: Where are your products made?
Our range of products are currently manufactured in a number of countries including Australia, Italy, China and Taiwan.

Unfortunately it is not always possible to manufacture products in Australia and as a company it is important for us to stay competitive in today's marketplace. We're always seeking high quality products and keep a tight control over all manufacturing processes.

Our Hoselink fittings are Australian designed and 100% Australian owned. Although we used to manufacture all our fittings in Australia we were forced to move our operations to China when our Australian manufacturer told us they could no longer produce our product in Australia. The fittings are now manufactured to our exacting specifications in China, with our Australian-made tools.

        • It's Chinese. It's hype tripe. My sister had one. Greatest pile of junk. She eventually got her coin back but only after fighting them . I hope these Hozelock aren't the same. But. If it smells like a turd then it is one

        • @Stiff:

          It's made in the UK

        • Stiff is referring to hoseLINK, not hoseLOCK.

        • @Tuba: Correct…HOSEKINK !

      • Hoselink or Hozelock?
Oh I didn't read the post above properly ;-)

    • TA had an issue with his, he also mentions someone else also returned theirs that wouldn't retract, and ProductReview has someone whom mentions that this 25m $59 uses a smaller hose with a possible cheaper construction to it. But it's only $59 so YMMV.

    • The ones I bought are made in the UK
