  • Code doesnt work.

The codes don't work on prepaid mobiles

    Like tonyjzx said last time:
    512mb ram
    no led flash
    no front cam

    • Could someone point me where you can find a better alternative for $49? Edit: it appears that the $50 gc is only available on outright or contract. So ignore this (once you factor in coles $50 Giftcard) Because all the phones for $49 look a lot crappier than this, even the popular ozbargain sub $50 deal for lumia 530 is far inferior phone than this.

Yeah at $99 it loses it appeal. :P

how to unlock this phone free?

  • -3

Why not buy it from Optus only $79 (with $50 bonus Coles gift card)

That would put the phone at $29.

    • That's a 530 not a 630

    • that 530 not 630
and no cash back for 530 i presume

    • I am afraid Lumia 530 is not in the list of get coles $50 gift card!

      • which optus phones are?

        • Did you check the Microsoft link included in the original post?

        • @kearnsy:

          0oo sorry then

Note: Either on contract or outright… not prepaid.
To be eligible to claim, individuals must purchase a Nokia Lumia 630, 635, 636 735, 830 or 930 handset (either on contact or outright) from any Telstra, Vodafone, Optus, Harvey Norman, Dick Smith, JB HiFi or Allphones retailer, or a website for an aforementioned retailer, within Australia during the Promotional Period. For the removal of doubt, purchases made from Kogan or any retailer outside of Australia are not eligible for this promotion.

    • I noted this as well, it doesn't specifically say that prepaid is excluded…but it would probably be a fair assumption that it wouldn't be included.

    • Wouldn't prepaid be considered outright?

      • +3

No. With mobile phones there are three means of acquisition…
..Buy outright (self explanatory). Phone is unlocked.
..Contract, where you sign up to a set period of payments to a telco and the cost of the phone is included in your deal. Phone is unlocked.
..Prepaid, where your phone is locked to your provider on the pretence that you will be using their prepaid service and the telco is expecting to recoup the discounted price of the included phone from your use of their prepaid service. Phone is locked to telco for this very reason.

Rather than taking the risk of not getting the $50 with this deal it would be advisable to enquire with MS to confirm that prepaid phones are included.

Its eligible for prepaid ones. I got a claim through and the $50 GC has been already sent out.Even EasternCultture got the GC already, so yes this is eligible. Have got the phone for $84 and so another $50 back makes it $34…yay.

        • @regenade:

How did you manage to get the phone for $84? Because I'd say its a good deal if you get $50 GC. :) Best phone out there for money then

  • I have one. From previous DSE deal. Locked to Vodafone. Bagman couldnt do it. I tried 2 international unlockers and paid 20-30 for the privilege but they couldn't do it either. The way i did it was to go onto a vodafone month to month plan and ask them NICELY if they could unlock it for you. After a month and an ordinary network, i left Voda. I now have an unlocked 630.

  • i bought one and $30 prepaid pack is included. $50 cash back makes the phone $20

    • Do you know if the pack can be used as a data pack?

      • 1gb data included. Dont know what data pack mean

        • I mean is the SIM pack had $30 value, can we register it as a data only pack and use it for a modem? You can do that sort of thing with Telstra, just dont know about Voda

        • Hey pissedpoor,
did you get yours from Dick Smith????
I bought one and the included SIM is just a basic red SIM card pack. It says "add a recharge to get started" so what is this $30 pack you are talking about??

        • @King Tightarse:
Just activate you get the credit. I bought from dick smith

        • @King Tightarse:
Mine says $30 on the cover

        • @pissedpoor:
No worries. Looks like either you were lucky or I was unlucky :p

        • @King Tightarse:
I called international all the credit finished. Over 100 minutes.
