I read too quickly and thought the description said "ipad air 2 for $333".
Goodness me, who indeed would buy an iPad 2 if they have any understanding of the specs.The OP it seems.
Poor specs and yes, borderline dropping off the usability list, but for schools and other high volume, low-cost markets, the reliable old iPad 2 is satisfactory and a much needed stepping stone to provide an entrance to these devices.

noooo…. i just purchased an ipad air 2 64gb as a xmas present from TGG at 8% off.
TGG have a 30 day price guarantee but apparently MYER is not on their approved retailer list for them to refund 120% of the difference.
I would still go back and try. I have used the 30 day price beat with random online stores.

Had them for months in Sydney City store. Always lots of sales people desperate to pounce on anyone the least bit interested too. They are sold up on the 6th Floor which no-one ever visits. And the flagship Apple store is just a block away on street level. Guess where people go?

@jv: 64GB will be plenty, when I go on holidays I remove the large games to make plenty of space for movies and TV shows.
It's easy, games on for birthday or Christmas (angry birds, jetpack joyride etc). Then off again in a few weeks, leaving the more educational ones on.

If they won't split payment just buy $150 in gift cards with one Amex & pay the balance on the other. Several people have posted they got Amex credit back on a gift card purchase so it appears pretty solid.

Air 2 is kinda disappointing

-3gb or more RAM
-Flash camera
-better front camera (5mp camera instead of the same 1.2mp)But will need to wait for a few more years

They did! It has 2GB which means it will run rings around 3GB Android devices.
Who the hell cares about cameras on a tablet, especially front facing, except narcissistic selfie types. Get one of those selfie sticks. They're very classy, totally do not make you look like a tool.
The iPad Air 2 is awesome for non selfie obsessed types, for people who don't walk around taking photos with a tablet. Seriously, can there be anything more inconvenient and un-ergonomic than an iPad for taking photos?
It is impossibly beautifully thin, even compared to the air or the retina mini. I'll take that any day over thick camera lenses and speakers. Want great sound on the move, get decent headphones. The iPad isn't a jack of all trades device. That thankfully is not going to change in a few years so don't bother waiting.

Did I mention that screen. Holy f##k that screen. The screen on the iPad Air 2 is the most gorgeous I have ever seen on any device. Even compared to other iPads, even a Retina Macbook Pro. I haven't seen the latest and best Samsung AMOLEDs, maybe they are equally good. Don't think of the Air 2 as an incremental improvement over a Retina Mini or iPad Air. Among portable devices like phones and tablets, the iPad Air 2 is the best hardware in the world - it is not even close.
I'm a diehard Android fan and I still think iPad is the better tablet.
Best combination is Android phone with iPad.

Though I personally think in terms of other things along with hardware, iPads are still better than Android tablets.
If you look at the newest iPad Air 2, they used SoC that is specifically designed for tablets, which Android tablets cannot do easily, Apple has so much market power like that.Though what makes me slightly iffy is the fact that they used TLCs on storages for iPad Air 2, but that's slightly different story that I wish not to talk about.
Still if I were given a choice between iPad and other android tablets, I would probably go with iPad (though as a fan of Wacom, if Samsung releases an optimised Wacom tablet, my vote probably will sway)

Yes we've recently made that switch. The amount of bang for your buck you get in the Android phone world is phenomenal. But as others have said, the iPad still feels a step or two ahead of the comparative droid tabs.
