      The question is, how will a homeless person who lacks cooking facilities, running water and electricty cook his own meals… fairly certain they'll have to visit a food bank or a religious organisation for food.

      It's advertising.

      Instead of spending $10k on an advertising campaign they are giving away product to their customers. If you don't cry foul at all other advertising campaigns you can't really cry foul at this.

    Did anyone go there this morning? What is the place like? Is it a big supermarket or just a fruit and veg shop?

    Prices in general? I wanted to avoid the place due to it being so close to Christmas and the fact that they were giving away free potatoes (that I didn't need), so presumed the place was going to be chaos.

      Went there this arvo. Really empty, everyone's at the Galleria nearby. It's a new huge place that imports asian food like indomee, pocky, soy bean drinks etc.

    I wonder if a family of 4 comes in, each buy an item of veggie separately, they will end up with 16kg of potatoes? And what if they return in the afternoon? Potatoes sorted for a month?

      Yeah I guess, would prob be enough. There were like a few hundred bags of potatoes near the check out so you just grab one when you pay for your purchases. Only about 7 shoppers in the huge shop when I went.
